Hôtel La Malle Poste à Rochefort

We stayed one night at La Malle Poste while being in the area for our annual teambuilding. We didn't know the hotel but it exceeded our expectations. The staff was extremely friendly, the hotel is quiet, the rooms are big enough and the extra facilities, such as the bar area, the garden and the wellness are great after a day of hiking, kayaking, climbing walls,... Their recommendation for dinner was highly appreciated and we would recommend the restaurant to everyone. Breakfast was more than enough and we felt spoiled. Thank you La Malle Poste. If we are in the area and need a hotel, we will certainly return!

Very nice hotel, staff is very friendly. Breakfast was okay as well, with fresh orange juice and any egg dish on request. They have a big free parking in the back and a nice garden. The only reason why I didn't give a higher score to the room (3/5) is because we had a smaller room under the roof and we hit our heads against the roof sometime getting out of bed.

The rooms were very comfortable with excellent beds, blending old-world charm with a modern, upscale vibe. The breakfast was fantastic, featuring a generous spread of fresh local produce. Cindy and the manager were incredibly warm and helpful. We also loved unwinding in the pool and sauna — a perfect way to the day.

This was our second visit. The first being about 4 years ago, where we were a group of about 15 and stayed for 3 nights.The hotel is under new ownership and the level of service is appalling! We arrived on a very hot day to find the swimming pool was out of action and there was a fair on the Main Street right buy our window and the noise till midnight was horrendous. Even though the hotel was not full we were not offered another room, but told it was the fair’s last night. As the pool was out of use we were told we could have a free breakfast. Also as the fair was on most of the restaurants were closed, so finding somewhere to eat was difficult. The hotel only does breakfast. On our return from a day out and having had little sleep the night before, to our horror we found the fair was still going. We mentioned this to reception (a different person) and was told the fair was on for all of our 3 night stay. At that point we cancelled our third night and was told there would not be a charge. When checking out we did not receive the free breakfast and were as good a threatened for being charged for the third night if we insisted on the free breakfast. Personally this hotel now has all the traits of being owned by a management company. The staff were rude and basically didn’t care about service. There was no management on site for us to talk to. We will not be returning and not be recommending this to our group for future use.

copy from booking. Good stay but... Scored 7/10 The room was nice and spacious. The bathroom was clean and the water was warm. Plenty of room to park your car. Overal we were happy but there were some dislikes that are fixable. I've seen older reviews with the same dislikes. The water in the swimming pool was quite cold while the room temperature was pretty hot. I went in the water with my 3.5yo but we couldn't stay in for long (blue lips and shivers). We went at opening (8am) but that shouldn't make a difference since ... "open". We didn't order breakfast as the price for our 3.5yo would be the same as for us. I really think this is a missed opportunity as there should be a -12yo discount. They barely eat food, especially when they're -6yo and we couldn't warrant the expense meaning you also lost income. Don't take the "garden view" room if you want a nice view. It's not worth it. Outside our window there were chairs for other people to use within a few meters. small note: Only 2 big towels for 2 adults + 1 kid.

This hotel is such a beauty and classy. Its like old but gold. Just infront of the church. And the staff are super friendly and nice. I highly recommend this hotel if you visit Rochefort.

We had a room in the new part of the hotel facing the street which was rather hot with hardly any air circulation. They had put in a small ventilator which didn’t help much. We also missed a water cattle or coffeemaker in the room. Breakfast was great and very extensive with nice and friendly staff.

Hotel reopened recently under new management. The Old Reception building is fantastic in its well chosen decor and strong colors, the Underground transfer between buildings is fun, the main tower is modern and well equipped. For breakfast i was treated like a King - in the blink of an eye i had my bacon and eggs, a vast array of Items to build my breakfast with. I´ll be back and book one of the suites, during summer, with dinner in the garden. "C´est Beau et c´est Bon!"
