Hotel La Palma au Lac

I organised a 2-day residential seminar in the Hotel Palma au Lac, and it was a great success, thanks to the care and attention of every member of the hotel staff. The seminar room was very well equipped, the technology worked perfectly, and the catering was excellent. A special thank you is deserved by Roberto the Event Manager, Massimo the IT guy, and Maurizio and his colleagues working in the hotel restaurant. I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a venue in this part of Switzerland.

Going to this hotel takes you back to the 80’s: the room (no technology whatsoever), the furniture, the bathroom, the TV screen of the size of my Mac screen… everything gives strong garni hotel vibes. Absolutely refuse any room on the second floor towards the mountain, because you get the view on the parking lot, actually your window is at the same level as the cars on the parking lot. I wouldn’t take it even if the hotel paid ME 200 sfr per night. The staff are very friendly, but next year when the Grand Hotel (managed by Marriott) will open I will definitely go to the Grand Hotel. La Palma lives on the reputation of the 80’, and it got stuck in the 80’s.

I recently stayed at this hotel for a business trip and had a wonderful experience. The view is absolutely stunning, the breakfast is plentiful and varied, and the staff are kind and always ready to help. |The rooms are comfortable and well-maintained, making it easy to relax after a long day. The location is also convenient, with restaurants and key business areas within walking distance. |I highly recommend this hotel for both business and leisure stays.

We had the most wonderful stay! The location, comfort, and cleanliness were all spot on, but what really stood out was the special attention and care from the staff. Everything exceeded our expectations, and we truly had the best time ever. Highly recommend!

Clean, comfortable room, great view from the lake view room, powerful air conditioning. Friendly staff at the reception and restaurant. Good breakfast, the outdoor area is available for dogs. A spot in the parking lot behind the hotel (not at the public charging in front) is available for an extra fee. Unfortunately EV charging is not available in that parking lot.

Our room was modern, bright, and impeccably clean, featuring a comfy balcony perfect for morning coffee with a waterfront panorama . The breakfast buffet was outstanding—rich, varied, and delicious, best enjoyed on the terrace overlooking the lake . The spa, with its sauna, steam room, jacuzzis facing the water, and tranquil atmosphere, offered the perfect relaxation spot . Throughout our stay, the warm and attentive staff—from reception to restaurant—went above and beyond to ensure our comfort . With stylish design, excellent amenities, and unbeatable service in a postcard-perfect lakeside setting, Hotel La Palma au Lac is a true gem. Highly recommended—we'll be back!

Wow what a fabulous hotel. We absolutely loved staying here and it was great to stay at a Swiss hotel stepping up standards. ||The reception staff were attentive and patient. The waiting on staff were equally so.||Breakfast was plentiful and delicious.||Excellent location.||A really comfortable stay and wished we had booked for longer. It was so good we have been spoilt and now we expect the same from other 4 star Swiss hotels!||Keep up the good work!

Again we had a great experience in the Palma au Lac hotel. The staff is amazing and focused on making you feel at home. We had lovely evenings in the restaurant with great food an wine. Absolutely an amazing place to be.

Very nice hotel in a great location. Definitely try for lake view and an upper floor. Very friendly staff. Right next to the train station (but you don't hear trains at all on the lake side). Our A/C didn't work and it was warm, so they moved us to another room, which worked out well. We recommend this hotel.

My family have been guests at this hotel many times over the past few decades. In fact, we have seen this hotel evolve from a swanky 5-star hotel in the 1960's and 1970's, to a spartan budget hotel that more accurately accommodates the needs of the budget-oriented tourists that visit the area today. Ideally located alongside Lake Maggiore, it offers sweeping views of the lake and the surrounding mountains. Breakfast on the ground floor is complimentary in the morning. Bikes are also provided to guests at no charge - which is quite nice since the lakeside bike is almost entirely flat. If you're in the area and are looking for a well located, budget hotel, this is a good choice.
