Highly recommend if you are looking for a high quality hotel by US standards! One of our favorite hotels during our two week stay in Italy. Rooms are excellent. Air conditioning was excellent. Staff was welcoming and helpful. Pools were amazing. One on rooftop and the other on the lake. The pool at the lake has full service bar with food. Hotel has a rooftop bar, but we did not partake. The breakfast was fine, but below the standard set by everything else.

We just came back from hotel La Palma in Stresa, lake Maggiore.|We had wonderful time. Very good weather. The hotel is very welcoming. We had a corner suite on third floor. The room is large with sofa and coffee table, the view is so beautiful, I can stand and look around again and again. The balcony with table and chairs, niche to relax and enjoy the view and light breeze. The bathroom is very clean and wide, two sinks ( for him and her) window for views.|The breakfast is very generous! Everything I want and more for everyone taste.|The dining area direct to the beautiful garden, can be opened in good weather.|Morning sunshine is so nice. |The blackbird singing and care for his chicks. It is so sweet and relaxing.|It is my second time in this hotel. I will come again in September with my daughter and her husband.|The staffs are wonderful. The cleaning lady is very friendly and efficient.

We stayed with 3 generations of family for a few days as the first stop on a four city trip. We arrived from MXP jet-lagged and way before check-in. The staff happily checked us in, took our luggage, and suggested a few places for lunch before we could get into our rooms. The lunch spots on the shore were just what we needed and we were able to get into our rooms hours before the official check-in time. We had partial lake view rooms and they were excellent. Very clean and comfortable. We had breakfast there everyday and dinner once; all meals were great and the wait staff very helpful, polite, and attentive. The sky bar was a relaxing place to have an afternoon drink after touring sites and the town. The pool on the shore is also perfect for lounging and the staff there are just as courteous. |The location is perfect for our interests of touring the Borromean Islands and walking around Stresa. We really couldn't ask for more in a hotel!

Visited this hotel three times now and it’s always the same. Rooms great quality, super showers etc- we always take a lake view room with balcony which is certainly worth the extra - views are stunning. The big benefits are roof top pool and roof top bar and a beach club on the lake with a bar and great facilities plus you get a great breakfast too.||A couple of easy improvements could be made though - there should be free bottled water in the room which there isn’t and there should be coffee making facilities which there isn’t - with those additions it would have got a five star rating

My family has been coming to this hotel for years and I always look forward to staying here when we visit Stresa. My husband and I recently had our wedding at La Palma and it was so beautiful! Leading up to the wedding the staff were very responsive, which was greatly appreciated. The ceremony was in the hotel garden, which is so beautiful this time of year. The Sky Bar is always a great time, and having our aperitif there provided a lovely view. The reception was in the building by the garden, and the windows/tile floors made for a very beautiful space. The Beach Bar was the site of the dancing/cake - which the guests enjoyed. ||I can’t thank the staff enough for their grace with our big group of guests, their help with the wedding planning, and for making our wedding day (really wedding week!) so wonderful! I can’t wait to come back to Hotel La Palma. ||(disclaimer regarding wedding: not much is included for free, even if using multiple spaces and staying at the hotel; this is maybe typical for a hotel since spaces/some staff are not accessible to other guests during the wedding, but just wanted to share for those curious about cost).

We just checked in and it's been a HUGE disappointment. They messed up our rooms and we ended up in a classic rather than the superior room we booked. Our other family members are in those rooms and quite honestly they're not much better. They over look construction and a dumpster. The staff at the front desk was trying to be helpful but some male manager came from behind and truly could not have cared less. The room is tiny, not particularly clean, my sheets are stained, there is no coffee service in the room. The box spring is literally bare. Not even covered. It's gross. Having traveled through Europe this summer and stayed in at least 5-6 other 4 stars hotels La Palma is a 3 at best.

We celebrated our wedding at Hotel La Palma in Stresa – and it was an absolute dream! Barbara and the entire La Palma team did an incredible job. Their warmth, professionalism, and attention to detail made us and all our guests feel so welcome and cared for. Everything ran perfectly – it truly exceeded all our expectations. From the planning phase to the big day, Barbara supported us with so much kindness and dedication. We couldn’t have asked for a better place or team to celebrate such a special moment. We’ll cherish the memories forever and can’t wait to come back to celebrate our anniversary and relive the magic of August 2nd, 2025. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts! Chiara & Cedric

I’d been told that La Palma was a great hotel, but my experience far excelled the speculation! The staff were attentive, the amenities were amazing and the food was fabulous (although a little pricey to be honest). The beach club was by far the biggest surprise to me. Being able to sit just above the lake was amazing. The cost to stay may well be more expensive than other places in Stresa - but no one else has a facility like that. A nearby bar give me daily access to their “private” area, but it’s 60 Euro a day and no where near the luxury you get from La Palma, so when you add it up, La Palma is well worth the investment. ||If you’re after a little bit of something special, and a place to truly relax, La Palma is the place to go.
