Hotel La Pena is a tropical paradise located just a 5-minute walk from the ocean outside of Tarifa. You are completely surrounded by lush and beautiful gardens. They offer an amazing breakfast buffet, and you feel like you are eating in paradise. Highly recommend.

La Peña is a very decent hotel, amids the greens and silence with a very coasy atmosphere. Rooms are small but clean and tidy, the beds are very comfortable and the AC works perfectly. The main kite beach is just a three minute drive away. I skipped breakfast as for me, it wasn’t worth €8. Would totally recommend La Peña when visiting Tarifa.

The room was clean and functional which was exactly what I needed. It is pet friendly as well. I really enjoyed the buffet style breakfast. The gardens where absolutely beautiful. The nicest gardens of any hotel I have been in and I have travelled in numerous countries.

Positive: Cozy rooms, very clean and comfy bed. Nice pool area with sun loungers to relax along with the beautiful surrounding gardens. Very quiet and friendly hotel. Due Covid, the breakfast couldn't be at the buffett but it's well organised in turns, so you pick you your tray with your pre-ordered breakfast and take it to the courtyard, very pleasant.. Negative: I was given room N.4 which is wall to wall with reception and bar area, so it's noisy. But I asked to be moved the following day and no problem..

This is such a lovely little hotel to stay in & Just a short 10 minute walk to the fabulous Tarifa beach. The rooms are small but spotless, with views of the mountains. The grounds and up-keep on this fabulous little place is Imaculate. A beautiful swimming pool and bbq area for use and very welcoming staff, although limited English was spoken by them. I will definitely return again to this beautiful little retreat.

The hotel is 200m away from the amazing beach Los Lances. The staff is very accommodating and lovely, always eager to make of your stay an unforgettable experience. There are awesome gardens where to enjoy the shade or go for a swim to the beautiful swimming pool. The views are amazing too. There is a terrace where you can see Morocco.We will repeat pretty soon for sure!

La Pena is unique. The gardens which surround the hotel are beautiful and would give any five star establishment a run for their money! The rooms open onto a courtyard (shown in the photo here) or straight onto the grass overlooking the pool. Although La Pena is a few kilometres out of Tarifa, it is only a short taxi ride into the town for an evening meal. One could walk of course. The peace and tranquillity around La Pena is hard to beat and worth being a few minutes out of town. However, the path which leads to the beach (goes under the roadway) means it is only a few minutes walk away. The owners of La Pena are friendly, welcoming and rightly proud of their hotel.
