Hotel La Piazzetta & Cafeteria

Absolutely excellent stay at La Piazzetta. Hospitality is charming and welcoming. Leo greeted us us with homemade teas and cucumber drinks every time we came in the door. The staff were friendly and helpful. Location was great and Leo gave daily recommendations for activities in Merida—many of them free. He connected us with car rentals and guides and sought ought information to answer all of our questions. Highly recommend La Piazzetta as a home base in Merida.

One of the best boutique hotel experiences I’ve ever had. From the moment I arrived, I felt genuinely looked after. The team (Leo and Agustin m) here goes above and beyond in a way that feels effortless and sincere. They gave me amazing local recommendations, checked in on me throughout my stay, and somehow always knew what I needed before I even asked. The atmosphere is beautiful, calm and intimate — exactly what a boutique hotel should feel like. But what truly makes this place special is the hosts. Their attention to detail and the way they care for guests is on another level. I left feeling not just rested, but truly taken care of. I would come back in a heartbeat. Highly recommend.

We loved our stay here! Leo was so welcoming and will not let you want for anything. He messaged us information and tips prior to arrival and couldn't do more for us during our stay. Cold bottles a water from the super friendly security guy each night you return plus coffee, juice and a pastry every morning even though breakfast is 'not included'. A cafe/bar in its own right we enjoyed a cold beer here before going out for dinner as the interior is decorated in a beautifully quirky way and nicely lit. We were in room 6 (yellow skull) which had a gorgeous view of the square, comfy bed, practical layout, excellent fan and aircon etc. Hotel La Piazzetta is run with genuine care and excellent attention to detail - we felt really at home. The location is perfect and we walked everywhere.

really enjoyed my time at Hotel La Piazzeta. The location is super convenient and close to everything, which made getting around really easy. The place has nice rooms and the stuff it’s incredible nice overall great experience and would come back here anytime. Recommended

had a very great time in the hotel and service provided had the best time here went by super fast but only because i had such an amazing time in this hotel. Throwing a little get together, hanging out with all my friends in best city Merida and had an amazing place to bring friends and family over. Absolutely had a blast here i really recommend if your like adventures and different styles i really suggest La piazzeta BEST HOTEL IN MERIDAAA:)

I wish I could give 10 stars for La Piazzetta! This is my first time in all Mexico and they're the first hotel I stayed in so it sets the bar pretty high for others. I checked in late in the evening and Leo offered hot chamomile tea and a pastry along with a bottle of water and my request of a cup of hot water. After being in the airplane for 20hour or so, I deeply appreciate this gesture.|He told me that they don't serve breakfast but they will provide a glass of fruit juice, pastry, and coffee in the morning -- which for me is a breakfast already so that was good. They also will pour you the second cup if needed. If you like black coffee, their Americano is the best in the world, I asked where to get the beans and Leo told me right away, no gatekeeping or anything there. Also thanks to him I found a place I can go to practice Yoga during my stay in Merida.|The room is so cozy and clean, no questionable stain or gooey stuff. LOVED the decoration in the room I stayed in (I think each room has unique style), shower area is clean, bathroom is separate from the shower and has a door, towels are changed everyday. Loved everybody who works there (shoutout to Augustine and Lupita) they're just the loveliest!|I can't recommend this place enough. On top of the basic stuff you'd look for in an accommodation, they offer sincere kindness that you just don't see a lot anymore in this world (sadly). I had to change hotel for this conference I was attending in Marida and even though it was a 5 stars it felt completely mehh compare to La Piazzetta as everything felt so transactional & superficial. Choosing this place was one of the best travel decisions I've made :). All the best to you, Leo & Maria!

Conveniently located to explore Merida, rooms were essential but very tastefully decorated. Our room was very quiet. Leo gave us a lot of tips and advice on things to do in Merida and places to eat and drink. The coffee with a pastry in the morning is a lovely touch (for me it counted as a breakfast!).|Overall recommended

I had an absolutely wonderful stay at this hotel in Mérida! From the moment I arrived, I could tell that this place is exceptionally well-managed, likely family-owned, and run with genuine care. The entire property was spotless, and the attention to detail in both cleanliness and hospitality was remarkable. Maria and Augustin, along with the rest of the staff, were incredibly warm and welcoming. They not only made me feel at home but also went out of their way to provide great recommendations on what to see and do in the city. Thanks to them, I was able to explore some hidden gems and truly experience the best of Mérida. The rooms had so many personal touches that made my stay even more special—far beyond what you’d expect from a standard hotel. It felt like every detail was thoughtfully curated to ensure comfort and charm. If you’re looking for a place that combines exceptional hospitality, cleanliness, and a welcoming atmosphere, this is the perfect spot. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Mérida!
