I had an absolutely wonderful stay at this hotel in Mérida! From the moment I arrived, I could tell that this place is exceptionally well-managed, likely family-owned, and run with genuine care. The entire property was spotless, and the attention to detail in both cleanliness and hospitality was remarkable. Maria and Augustin, along with the rest of the staff, were incredibly warm and welcoming. They not only made me feel at home but also went out of their way to provide great recommendations on what to see and do in the city. Thanks to them, I was able to explore some hidden gems and truly experience the best of Mérida. The rooms had so many personal touches that made my stay even more special—far beyond what you’d expect from a standard hotel. It felt like every detail was thoughtfully curated to ensure comfort and charm. If you’re looking for a place that combines exceptional hospitality, cleanliness, and a welcoming atmosphere, this is the perfect spot. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Mérida!

The hotel itself is lovely and very quiet, but not too far from the center. Our highlight though was definitely the owner, Leo, and Augustin. They were incredibly helpful and kind. They shared loads of helpful links and tips with us, organized our early departure and even though we hadn’t booked it, offered us coffee and cakes in the morning. We can definitely recommend staying here

This is a great hotel with a good location for visiting Merida. Leo is a great tour guide and will give you very goog advice on where to go and when. The hotel itself is styled beautifully and the staff is wonderful. Definitely recommend. The hotel also has a little gift shop with cute souvenirs.

The owner from Nice gave us some of the best service we have ever received. He upgraded our room without charge for our honeymoon, drew us a map of Merida with recommendations, carried our luggage to the room, made sure we had cold water for the night, and much more. 10/10. Super cute hotel and outdoor area as well.

Awesome hotel. The room is much better than the pictures on travel apps. The beds are comfortable (on par with Intercontinental). The staff are helpful. The location is good and the shops and restaurants around it are amazing. There was a Saturday market right outside on Saturday. The blinds are very dark and very quiet at night. Highly recommend

A classic independent hotel loaded with charm, with a lobby that opens to the street, and two (sometimes three) friendly lobby cats. Each morning you are given a different pastry or bread and a different fruit juice-- star fruit, passionfruit, mamey sapote-- along with your perfectly made latte or cappuccino. The small bar features local spirits like henequen mezcal and pox (a traditional Mayan corn based liquor) along with other spirits and Mexican beer. Leo is an all time great hotelier, a man who understands and exemplifies the essence of hospitality, who is knowledgeable and passionate about his city's culture, and whose suggestions on events, restaurants, and travel to nearby Izamal and Campeche were all flawless. He's also a man you look forward to speaking with at the beginning or end of a day exploring the great city of Merida, to share or get a personal perspective that is equal parts graciously diplomatic and passionately honest. His wife Maria and night porter Agustine were equally as gracious and helpful. We loved the location of the hotel, just a five minute walk to the busy El Centro area in one direction and close to a few more underrated neighborhoods in other directions, with a nice park directly across the street where local dance troupes often practice. I'll never forget our stay at the Hotel La Piazzetta. It's everything a traveler could ever ask for in terms of finding a well run place that offers a unique experience, and is something you could never find in a chain hotel.

Great little hotel in Merida. Well located, a little walk from the plaza Grande. Leo the owner, is welcoming and very accomodating. He generously gives you tips on activities and restaurants. The place itself is nice, well decorated. My room was of regular size, with a nice shower. It was very clean and quiet, as it was quite far from the street. AC was working very well, WIFI was good too. You can start your day with a nice coffee made by the owner, and a croissant or some sort of viennoiserie. Of course it is not a 4 stars hotel, so don't expect the look or services of a 4 stars hotel. But if the price is in your range, you cannot go wrong with La Piazetta. Thanks for a very nice stay in Merida!
