If you’ve ever dreamed of a vacation in paradise, look no further than Hotel La Raposera. Upon arrival, we were welcomed by the charming owner, Ines, who was expecting us. ||The hotel is housed in a designated historic landmark known as “Casonas de Indianos” and located on an idyllic plot of land. Casonas are large houses found throughout the area. Although a few have been converted into hotels, probably none is as gracefully decorated as La Raposera. ||From its charmingly appointed glass sunroom, you can enjoy an amazing view of the countryside with the sea peeking in the horizon. The room exudes peace and invites one to enjoy a nice cup of tea while relaxing to the classical music playing in the background. ||The silence at night is heavenly and conducive to the most relaxing sleep you’ve probably had in a long time. ||The hotel is tastefully furnished with beautiful antiques, in a stylish country decor, without feeling old and stuffy. The house stands exactly as it was originally built and has been perfectly maintained. The hotel exudes elegance, peace and tranquillity. It’s the perfect place to get away and relax. ||The breakfast (that’s included) is a veritable feast of locally sourced organic fruits, tomatoes, toast, jams, cold cuts, homemade cakes, coffee and tea all impeccably presented. ||Hotel La Raposera is a hidden gem. A meticulously appointed and cared for hotel where the attention to detail is evident. I highly recommend you visit Hotel La Raposera. You won’t regret it and probably will leave planning your next visit.

It’s been a year since our last visit to La Raposera and the hotel looks and feels even more charming than I remembered it. After 2 glorious weeks, I can reiterate its highlights are still the location, relaxing vibe, great breakfast and impeccable cleanliness. ||||The hotel is centrally located with 2 restaurants within walking distance, and 2 expressway exits nearby (one 5 minutes away) making visits to nearby towns a breeze. We make La Raposera our home base and travel (sometimes overnight) to nearby towns.||||The vibe at the hotel is so relaxing, that as you walk in the door all your stress seems to melt away. Evenings are quiet and conducive to a restful night sleep. While mornings start with Inés’ breakfast feast that includes fresh locally sourced fruits, tomatoes, and her home baked cakes.||||So, don’t hesitate. Reserve your room at La Raposera and enjoy your stay!

Just spent 4 wonderful days at Hotel Raposera. I definitely agree with all of the previous glowing reviews. This is a very special place. The setting, the building itself…all amazing. And to top it off, Ines and her staff are 100% dedicated to the thoughtful running of this hotel. I will return! I most highly recommend.

What a great place to stay! Beautiful old ' Indianos' Villa, just recently (2014) restored and impeccably furnished. The owners could not be more friendly and personable. Beautiful walk from the hotel to the beach or up into the mountains- off the beaten track, quiet and very special, our best stay in Spain!

Our experience at la raposera was amazing! I had a great time chatting to Ines every day! She is the soul of the hotel and has a lot of stories to tell! The location is great to go to different beaches and to experience the region! The best is the breakfast with a different cake every day! In the end she even gave us a gift. One word: amazing! We will come back for sure!

We can highly recommend hotel la Raposera where we staid for three nights in mid August. In an old "casa de Indios" nicely renovated and decorated this charming hotel with a familiar atmosphere is a very nice choice if you are in this interesting and beautiful part of Asturias! Wonderful breakfast, nicely decorated rooms and not the least excellent and personal service!!

Caravia is a tranquil village within walking distance from unspoilt beaches on the northern coast of Asturias. From there you can easily drive along the picturesque coastline that stretches between Llanes and Lastre, and the mountains of Picos de Europa are not far away. ||||The house is tastefully restored to a high standard with fine attention to detail, and is very clean. Rooms are not soundproofed as advertised and small children could disturb other guests though it did not bother us. Breakfast is served with a homely touch, comprising seasonal local produce, which makes a welcome change to the standard buffet fare served in bigger hotels.||||Highly recommended for a relaxing break.
