Hôtel La Residence Boutique hôtel pour un week end à Narbonne

Very beautifully restored boutique hotel in an old building in Narbonne. The room had a very high ceiling, but pretty small. The bed was good (also a bit on the small side), and the bathroom was nice. The staff was friendly and helpful. There is a garage (25 metres away) that can be used for cars (limited space) and bicycles. ||The key reason why we opted for 4 instead of 5 points was that the breakfast was a tad less impressive than in comparable hotels we had during our trip. ||

This hotel absolutely exceeded expectations. My train was delayed so I called and let them know and someone stayed to let me in, which was around 11:30 PM. It was great service. I was extremely pleasantly surprised that they have an elevator, which is not a given in Europe. It was so easy to get my heavy bags up to my room on the top floor. The room is well appointed, very clean, and has a great view. The bed was extremely comfortable, but to be fair, I could have slept on a rock I was to tired when I arrived. The location is very convenient for the best restaurants, sites, and the train station.

The hotel was charming but we were allocated room 34 and I was not impressed. The room had a separate toilet right beside the bed which had no ventilation and was not of the same standard as the rest of the room and bathroom. Breakfast was very nice especially the first day when it was quiet and relaxing. Staff were pleasant.

A wonderful stay in Narbonne. Hotel was perfectly located in town and an easy 10 minute walk to the rail station. We booked a lovely french balcony room that was very clean and had a comfortable bed. Hotel staff was very friendly, especially Roman.|Would definitely return.

A cute hotel in downtown Narbonne, just a 5-minute walk away from the Cathedral. Actually, I could see the Cathedral tower from my room window. A building from the 19th century fully renovated but keeping its essence where it matters. The bathrooms were totally modern and elegantly designed. Some rooms have a bathtub and some others have a shower plate. The breakfast is a quite correct buffette; no fancy options but nothing missing. The staff is friendly and efficient, solving problems almost instantly. As a bonus, they speak several languages (I was able to communicate with them in English and Spanish besides their native French). Definitely, when I go back to Narbonne (and I will, because the city is worth it), I will choose this hotel.

Cute older hotel. Fairly large room especially for Europe. The cleanliness was acceptable but not great as we found some hairballs around the perimeter of the room, and old dingy grout & caulk in the shower. It was nice having a mini-split for A/C and heat, and the lobby has a cute sitting room to hang out in with some bar drinks available for purchase.

We stayed in hotel La Residence last month ( November 2024) It is approximately 10 minutes walk from the train station. Hotel La Résidence is within walking distance of Cathédrale Saint-Just-et-Saint-Pasteur de Narbonne, the the main church, and the main square, and shopping area. The visitor center is few hundred yards from the hotel.|||There is a very pretty bar/reading room to the right as you enter, and breakfast room to the left.||PROS: It is a quaint pretty hotel with very friendly front desk/reception. They helped with the local transportation and volunteered to mail the postcards. The rooms are spacious. Mine was. As it was late fall, there was chill in the air, the room had heat turned on. The bed was very comfortable. There was a cupboard in the room which looked like it was an antique piece. It added to the charm. ||CONS: As with other hotels in "the region" the power outlet was not multiplug, which is a concern. A little soundproofing of the connecting walls could help light sleepers, from next room noises 🤫||Definitely worthy of a return stay.

A sweet, out of the way chic boutique hotel. It is a perfect, lovely base for one's wander around Narbonne. Excellent attentive service, with clean spatious rooms. It has a really elegant front room, available to guests to relax in, intermingle, plan their day, etc. Highly recommended!

La Residence is a marvelous hotel. Staying there was like being in an elegant yet casual mansion. We booked the Superior Double Room (Chambre Double Superieure) and it was perfect. The room had recently been renovated; it was immaculately clean, with a lovely chandelier, beautiful striped velvet drapes and upholstery, and the ceiling was at least 15 ft. high which made the room seem larger. Two twin beds were made into a king-sized bed which was very comfortable. There was a separate closet area and the bathroom was very modern with spotless white and gray tile. They served a wonderful continental breakfast buffet with lots of great choices of breads, croissants, cereal, fruit and delicous freshly brewed coffee and tea. The entire staff was so helpful and since our command of the French language is limited, they were very happy to speak to us in English, always with a smile. If you're driving a car, reserve a parking space in their small but secure and convenient parking garage to avoid looking for street parking. We thoroughly enjoyed our 4-night stay. I would highly recommend this hotel.
