Villa Madame (Paris, Île-de-France) 29 Hotel Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"The biggest mistake many Parisian hotels make is trying to do too much. Either they fail, and offer an inadequate version of everything, or, in the rare case, they succeed, and have to charge a thousand Euros a night to cover expenses. The key is to pick your battles — and Villa Madame, in St-Germain-des-Prés, does just enough, and does it quite well indeed." - Tablet Hotels

The location was ok but the room was a shoe box! We couldn’t even walk around the bed. No room for our suitcases!!! No coffee maker in room or in lobby as stated on website. No hairdryer, no iron, and torn towels in the bathroom! The breakfast service was very slow and inattentive. Only 1 water bottle in room for 5 nights. This shouldn’t be a 4 star hotel. I have stayed in 3 star hotels that are better! Very disappointed, we spent too much for this room!

Very clean, great service 24 hours, excellent air conditioning, great location close to St Germaine de Pres and St Sulpice. Cute internal courtyard for a glass of wine in the late afternoon. Small room but we got used to it. Elevator. Laundry was very expensive but that seems to be the standard. Housekeeping were super friendly and excellent.

I stay in Paris about three times a year for work and I have to say that I was surprised at the state of this hotel. While I am sure at one point it was new and nicely presented, it now looks very tired. Dead flowers in the window box, missing hotel door numbers, dead or missing plants in the hallways, a broken clock in the bathroom, and a considerable amount of mold in the bathroom (I am more than happy to share photos). While one staff member was friendly, most were indifferent or too busy on their phones. I am unclear why the plastic key card needs to be turned in when leaving the hotel, this is a typical custom when the keys are metal but the only thing I can think of is that it turns off the lights when you leave. If this is going to be your policy, someone should be at the front desk and accessible at all times. Overall, I was disappointed given the high ratings on hotels.com. Other hotels in Paris at this price point are far better kept up. While the location was decent, it is directly next to a school which is extremely loud on weekdays. For a five night stay, I think the staff could have been friendlier and minimally replaced our water bottle one time (they provided one water during our five day stay). This hotel should really clean up the mold problems and address the rundown state of their property or lower their prices. There are far better hotels in Paris at this price, including in the 6th.

I enjoyed my stay at the hotel. The staff were very friendly and spoke very good English, in case that is a concern. The room was pretty small by American standards, but it had a lot of available bathroom items and reading material for exploring Paris. If you need an iron, you will be given one upon request at the front desk. For those who want to visit the Eiffel Tower, from this hotel it is a 30-40 minute walk. Depending on the route you take you will see some interesting sights on the way.

This is a C rated hotel charging A rated prices. In theory we were booked in the best room in the hotel for 2 nights. When we arrived, they had no one to help us with our luggage. (This was the last leg of a 16 day trip throughout France so we had a reasonable amount of luggage). Our room had zero drawers. There were a few shelves so we couldn't unpack much of are clothes and put the clothes on chairs and tables. The safe and refrigerator were broken. When we notified the front desk we were told that they would look into it the next day. They did not. Therefore, we had to walk around with our valuables and passports for they saw no reason to offer any help. |They will only give us one key which we were required to give them every time we left our room.|The one elevator is very small. I was waiting for the elevator and the housekeeper came over after I had pressed the elevator button and waited. |When the elevator arrived, she got in first and told me that with her cleaning equipment I had to wait for it to return.|Minor complaint- We have stayed in four separate hotels during our stay and this is the first that only has French speaking TV. This would not be a matter to complain about but when you add up the above complaints, it is an additional one.|For $850 a night it is a disgrace for what they offer.

The hotel is lovely and every member of staff we met were both warm, welcoming and friendly. Excellent recommendations for places to eat and directions to Metro and landmarks. ||Everywhere was very clean and the bed was so comfortable - air con and coffee maker both great. ||Great location, which is quiet but a short walk to cafes and bars and easy to commute to the tourist attractions.||Would stay there again.

We enjoyed five nights at Villa Madame and could not have more pleased. Lovely, clean room and bathroom, and very comfortable bedding. The front desk staff was pleasant and helpful. Hotel is in a quiet neighborhood location, and a only 7 minute walk to Jardin du Luxembourg, 20 minutes to Notre Dame. Highly recommend!

The room 14 was great and spotlessly clean. It smelled wonderful. It was on the first floor, and we had a view of Rue Madame. The area was full of small restaurants and boulangeries that I recommend you try. The breakfast at the hotel was wonderful with many options. Even though I am not a breakfast person, I tried almost everything. I want to make special mention of the two wonderful women who prepared and served breakfast. Their kindness, politeness, smiles, and overall behavior were impeccable and a reason why I might visit again. The housekeeping lady greeted us with a smile. What more do you want from your stay? To feel pleasant. The young man and woman at the reception were very polite. I have no complaints. Everything went smoothly. On the day we checked in, they were painting the hallway leading to the courtyard. A beautiful open courtyard that, if the weather improves, you will be able to enjoy. Before entering the room, I had some doubts from the comments I had read, so I checked it thoroughly. The mattress and pillows were so comfortable that combined with my tiredness, I fell asleep like a baby as soon as I lay down. Everyone speaks English, and there will be no communication issues.

Yelp
We loved our stay at La Villa Madame! It is beautifully decorated with a 'secret' garden just off the dining room, to sit in, with orange blossom and oranges hanging above us. The room was exceptional not because it was large, it was slightly cramped, but because it was absolutely quiet, not one bit of street noise!! It looked down on the secret garden and a neighbor's flower filled front courtyard. The AC was silent and very effective and the mattress and pillows of the highest quality- we had a perfect sleep every night. The only suggestion for improvement is to make larger waste-paper bins. If you put an empty bottled water container in, that half fills it up!! Because we like tea we bought a cheap kettle, but the room has a very good coffee machine and small fridge, and a keypad safe to leave valuables in. The office staff (someone was always on duty) were really kind and helpful and sorted out two taxis for us which both came on time and were less expensive than some. One also gave us an early morning (5.00am) call on our last day. The hotel is very close to the Luxembourg Gardens (about 200 meters) and we really enjoyed walking amongst trees and lawns and watching children sailing boats on the little lake in the center. It was also in walking distance of most of the art galleries. We will very happily return one day when we have saved up enough to travel to France again!
