I had a pleasant stay at this hotel in Nice. The hotel is clean, well maintained, and very quiet despite being centrally located. It’s close to shops, restaurants, and public transport, and only about a 10-minute walk from the Promenade des Anglais.||The staff were kind, welcoming, and always helpful. Breakfast was good and offered a nice selection to start the day.||The only downside was the internet connection in the room where I stayed (room 22), which was weak and unreliable. Overall, it’s a comfortable hotel with an excellent location, friendly service, and good value for money.

BEWARE if you value your money, experience and peace of mind. The online description of the hotel and location we saw was very inviting so we booked a Junior Suite for our 50th anniversary only to find construction tarps and scaffolding covering at least 1/3 of the exterior of the hotel and guest room windows views totally obscured. We tried to address the problem with our room with the new manager but he was evasive and only wanted to deal with the issue via email and not directly with us. The poor receptionist had to be the intermediary. We moved to another smaller room but it was insanely dark because it only had one window and it too had scaffolding outside. In addition to this, we had no internet capability almost the entire stay. Efforts to remediate the problem with the hotel were futile and we suspect the scaffolding might be a problem now because we have fairly new iPhones. The hotel is being deceptive and chose not to notify guests in advance of the construction and even their employees (most were friendly except one) felt that they were not being honest because they were having to deal with irate guests about the construction issue. In fact, one employee felt that what they were doing was illegal. We reached out to Hotels.com for remediation but they have not resolved our request to our satisfaction so far and have pretty much left it to the response they received from the hotel instead of advocating for us. In the meantime they continue to market this property on their sites knowing about the problem. Again, beware!

Google
I'm giving this one star so that the new management of the hotel doesn't continue to coast on its previous 4.5 star reviews as they refuse to tell guests in advance that 5 out of 8 rooms on EVERY floor are completely covered in scaffolding and tarpaulin. This means no view at all, builders coming directly past your window at 7.30 am and banging noise from 8am. ||Thanks to the kind night manager and Maria on reception, we did manage to move rooms on our 2nd night. And the room then was great (bar the construction noise every morning).||The rooms are spotlessly clean though, a big shout out to the housekeeping staff. Breakfast is good - small buffet but good coffee and just enough to get going before exploring more gastronomic delights of NIce! ||So this will be a great little hotel and perfect location in Nice. I'll update my review to what it should be when I hear the renovations are completed.

The hotel should be lovely according to the description and the photos. And the room interiors are fine (I have seen a few of them today). But 90% of the hotel is currently covered in scaffolding and tarpaulin. We woke up to banging and workmen right outside our window at 8am. |We were offered other rooms also with scaffolding up at the windows, finally downgraded to a standard room so that we could see the outside world! |The receptionists were very helpful but the hotel owner was unwilling to give any compensation, merely agreeing to refund the difference in room rate for the 2 following nights, also not willing to update hotel information on any sites to make future guests aware.

Google
Nice, modest hotel. Was clean and small. Its a mid range hotel, it was priced accordingly. Nothing negative to report other than strict on check in and out times. They held our bags for us which was very kind. They are located 400m from the airport tram so logistics are good.

Google
Exceptional stay with the best service possible. It was an excellent trip with every aspect. Very clean room with good layout and superb staff. Everybody in the reception (especially Georgie) was very helpful. I would not stay in another place next time I’m in Nice. The location is even more central than it looks on the map.

UNLIVABLE and Utterly Dishonest - Avoid La Villa Victor Hugo! Rating: 1/5 (Terrible) We booked a Premium Suite at La Villa Victor Hugo for three nights expecting a luxurious stay and instead found a nightmare. The second we arrived, it was clear we’d been cheated. There was major construction directly outside our window—unannounced and unavoidable. The windows of our "premium" room were covered with plastic sheeting and could not be opened. Inside, the situation was even worse. The room was aggressively dusty, immediately aggravating my asthma. The carpets were visibly dirty, and the bathroom had a persistent, weird smell. The room was, quite frankly, unlivable. We immediately requested a room change or a refund, as staying was impossible. While the receptionist was sympathetic and kind, she was powerless. The manager was a coward, refusing to speak to us directly and only offering a free breakfast in exchange for tolerating the intolerable conditions. We refused, as no meal is worth risking your health. We were forced to check out after the first night, wasting the money for the two subsequent nights we couldn't use. They refused a refund. This hotel is wildly overpriced, dirty, and managed by cheats. Furthermore, the location was inconvenient, leading me to suspect the positive reviews are entirely planted. I personally witnessed another couple checking out for the exact same reasons. Do yourself a favor and book literally anywhere else.

Google
The management from this hotel was unreasonable. I have booked a two-night stay at Nice but was unable to come due to flight cancellation because of bad weather. Imagine all the things you need to sort out while this hotel refused any option to compensate. We did not get any refund for our expensive booking we originally intended for our honeymoon. Be careful and reading the negative reviews!

Yelp
Great place to stay. Clean, quiet, good ac, friendly staff. It is very close to the tram so easy to get to airport. Many nice restaurants and cafes nearbye. The street has many nice buildings and parks. I booked the smaller room, but it was a good size and the bathroom was spacious. The fridge and safe were good to have. The wifi on our room on 4th floor was not so great but that was not a big deal. Overall, a great value. Rooms and lobby are updated. Only 1 elevator which was typical.

Yelp
My husband and I were here for 6 days. The hotel is great- location, cleanliness, nice staff. What made our experience above and beyond was the hotel Director, Agnes. She helped us with a situation we had and truly went above and beyond. She continued to check in on us to make sure our stay was good. She made a good experience great and when we come back to Nice, we'll be sure to stay here!

Yelp
Really unfortunate experience. Would firmly recommend against this hotel, and we travel half of the year, so we've experienced a lot of hotels. The hotel itself is clean enough, but if you have ANY need or desire for pleasant customer care or phone/internet usage (even one iota), this is not the place for you. I travel for work and have been unable to do anything online (no matter the hour, I've tried them all) or even make a phone call without it dropping, which created a very serious professional and financial risk for me. When I brought this to the attention of the staff, they told me "you go to a hotel to sleep not to work". I asked to be refunded so I could move hotels but they refused, vehemently so. The staff is not courteous and really doesn't treat you like a guest but more like someone they are truly irritated to have to deal with. I asked for a dinner recommendation and she just pointed across the street at a pizza place. Any other recommendations, ideally French, I ask? "Make a right on the street outside the building." Ok, thanks lol. And the real cherry on top - our tour guide came to pick us up in the morning and she told him we didn't have a room there and sent him away - she was the one who checked us in just 12 hours prior! Not much for concierge or even the most basic human service, to say the least. AC/heat also doesn't work. Honestly, I'm really disappointed in the service and lack of basic amenities (if you can even call WiFi and air amenities and not just prerequisite services of a hotel). I would recommend to make it a point to not stay here unless you want to feel you are in a city but on a remote island where they don't need or care for your business and treat you like a peasant they just can't be bothered with.

Yelp
Nothing fancy, but it's a nice, clean hotel in a great location. The bed is comfortable (though I would have preferred fluffier pillows) and the area is quiet, providing for a good nights rest. The bathroom is small, but efficient. The only challenge is the shower door only goes 1/2 way across the shower, which is pretty typical in European hotels. Europeans must shower differently, cause I always manage to get water everywhere. And if my husband was traveling with me, the whole bathroom would be flooded. Anyways, I would recommend staying here during a visit to Nice, if your looking for a good, basic place to stay, without the need for resort amenities.

Yelp
Be VERY careful of their cancellation penalties. I booked a room here on 5/29/19 for July 17-20, 2019 and had to cancel it on 6/6/19. Although it is high season AND the hotel is currently fully booked they charged me a one night cancellation fee. I contacted their customer service to see if they would waive the fees and no go. Not very customer service*y.

Yelp
Really clean and cute hotel right next to a church. It Does have an elevator! Small but it has one! Decent size room and bathroom. Free WiFi very small closet space. Not much of storage. No storage for toiletries in bathroom either. It was ok for me bc my stay was short

Yelp
Stayed at this beautiful hotel in nice next to church.. And beach! Walking distance to great shops and restaurants- we had a fabulous time staying here and I recommend coming to this hotel

Yelp
We couldn't have been happier with our stay here. We opted for an upgraded room and it was a really nice size and had a small balcony that was so charming. The hotel is really centrally located and had tons of restaurants nearby and was a nice walk to the beach. The bed was really comfy and the AC worked really well, for the price especially it was great.

Yelp
For the price, it was great! Sure it's older, but what it lacks in updates, it makes up in great staff! Everyone from check in to the cleaning crew was so pleasant. One minor flaw is the pillows could be a bit more comfortable... but that didn't interrupt our stay at all. The hotel location is perfect. We walked everywhere and it was especially nice to be so close to the train station. Overall, highly recommend!

Yelp
Nice and small hotel which is great located right next to the big shopping street and about 5 min walk away from the promenade of Nizza. Very nice staff at the front desk. The rooms basic and clean. Bed is comfy and everything still looks refurbish and in a good condition. Breakfast is also good, not too fancy but you can get all the French basics.

Yelp
Great hotel and amazing location ! It's super clean and modern! I was very surprised at how large the rooms were ! We will be back for sure !'n

Yelp
Small, very clean hotel with nice decor in a great location. Cleaning staff was super nice but all other staff members were super rude. No real complaints but the front desk staff kind of soured it for me.
