This place is straight magic. It is a one-of-a-kind hotel on one of the most beautiful small lakes in (presumably) the world. The lake is completely glass in the morning. Quiet, serene, beautiful.
There are tons of people there every morning taking photos.
The hotel itself is a gem - unique breakfast buffet and dinners provided by the hotel, every event and meal is classy and the staff is professional and kind.
It is our understanding that the summertime is nuts - you would need to make reservations well in advance of your travel. By the time it gets to the end of September/early October, though, it is not considered peak season anymore and getting a room should be a bit easier.
We don't understand why the Fall is considered to be "non-peak season"...it is absolutely stunning. We would highly highly recommend this hotel and the whole experience!
The hotel is not a Marriott or IHG or Hilton, etc. - it is unique and one-of-a-kind. With that, the rooms are older and not updated with all the latest fancy hotel designs and decor. It is not meant to be a place like the chain hotels, so don't expect that.
The floors are a little creaky, the furniture is older, but you can't beat the history, the landscape, and the overall experience.
