We chose to stay inside Torres del Paine National Park, and it truly couldn’t have been a better decision. Hotel Lago Grey’s location is ideal for full-day hikes and for access to the boat ride to see Glaciar Grey. We had all of our meals at the hotel restaurant and were quite pleased with the quality of the food. The majority of the dishes were thoughtfully prepared and consistently excellent, especially after long days out exploring. The absolute highlight of our stay was the excursions booked through the hotel. A special shoutout to our guide Dani (and our driver Dani as well!). Dani, our guide, took the time to understand exactly what kind of experience we were looking for, asked all the right questions, and impressed us deeply with her passion for nature and her love for sharing Patagonia. Her knowledge and enthusiasm truly elevated our time in the park. Patagonia’s weather changes every few hours, and the hotel staff were incredibly flexible and helpful in adjusting plans and recommending the right experiences based on the conditions each day - something we really appreciated. One small note for light sleepers: rooms facing the lake (like ours) can get quite windy and noisy at night. Completely understandable given the hotel’s incredible location inside the park, but it’s worth bringing earplugs just in case. We would go back again in a heartbeat. Hotel Lago Grey made our Torres del Paine experience unforgettable.

My husband and I did a 4 night all-inclusive package at Hotel Lago Grey and had a wonderful time from beginning to end! We booked the package directly with Hotel Lago Grey, and Maximiliano in sales was very helpful and patiently answered all of our questions. Our room at the hotel had a sensational view, and we loved waking up to gorgeous views every morning. The excursion program was excellent and offered walks that varied in length and difficulty as well as wildlife and scenery tours. Importantly, the excursion program is very flexible and can be changed depending on the weather. Our guide, Daniela, was outstanding. She is knowledgeable, very professional and careful. She is passionate about Torres del Paine, nature and her job, and she was delightful company. We learned a lot about the geography, geology and natural history of the area from her, and she even managed to show us a puma! The food, including picnic lunches, was very good and plentiful. All of the staff at reception at the hotel were also exceptionally helpful. Although the package was expensive, it was very good value because it included private transfers from Punta Arenas or Puerto Natales, all meals, drinks, the excursions and a boat trip to the Lago Grey glacier. Furthermore, we had exclusive use of a guide plus a driver for 3 days. We only shared a guide with one other guest on a half day walk. It is difficult to do day walks in Torres del Paine as independent travellers because of access to the walking trails and because some trails require you to have a guide. We highly recommend the Hotel Lago Grey all-inclusive package – it was perfect for us and is flexible enough to cater for almost everyone.

The upgrade to a room with a view is worth it. This hotel is gorgeous and despite the remote location has great amenities, included heated bathroom floors. The restaurant and lounge are both very good for breakfast, coffee and dinner. Difficult to get to, but private transports and busses do go here. The boat out can get cancelled due to wind. The hotel does offer luggage storage. Overall a great experience and treat to myself!

This review is for the glacier cruise, not the hotel The Lago Grey glacier cruise ended up being a memorable highlight of our trip. The boat is small but well-designed, with ample viewing areas that made it easy to admire the glacier without feeling crowded. We were even treated to a Calafate sour made with glacier ice—a fun and delicious touch—and our guide generously took great photos of us, which was a nice extra. The only downsides were the check-in process and boarding, both of which were painfully slow and poorly organized. Once on board, everything improved dramatically, but getting there required more patience than expected. Overall, the cruise is absolutely worth it—just be prepared for a sluggish start before the real magic begins.

The hotel is rustic elegance. I was fortunate to get a room with great view. More importantly, the staff were very helpful and friendly. Everyone that I encountered, the front desk, porters and waiters were very professional. I also took a tour with Joaquin which was absolutely perfect. I couldn’t ask for a better tour guide. He was friendly and professional. He made sure that my stay was truly spectacular.

We had the most amazing time at Hotel Lago Grey in September. The hotel has a lovely atmosphere and what makes it so special is all of the incredible staff members. Special shout out to our wonderful guides; Danni, Jesus and Joaquin, we thoroughly enjoyed all of the hikes and were very impressed with their knowledge, caring attitude, warmth and humour. We also had a fabulous trip to the glacier and were well looked after by the great team on board (Matias, Gerardo, Hernan and Joaquin). |We booked on an all inclusive basis and enjoyed the delicious food and drink options - thank you to Francisco and all the restaurant and bar staff for the superb service. |Thank you also to the drivers and all the staff behind the scenes at Lago Grey, it really is a special place. Perhaps the best testament I could give is the fact that we felt incredibly sad to leave - would go back in a heartbeat!

I don’t understand why people recommend the restaurant. We came to have lunch and paid 70.000 pesos for two people. The drinks arrived after the main dish. We had to remind the waiter that we had dessert. The dessert had something weird like plastic and they changed it. The waiter really didn’t want to work and was on the phone most time. Better to eat at a different place.

The location is very exclusive and provides great view and advantage of getting out to the nature early and not travelling back and forth around 3-hour drive to the city. The location is very beautiful and well kept. All the staff were very nice, attentive, spoke good English and helpful with all questions and requests. In winter the rooms were very warm (we even had to lower the heating) including the bathroom that had heated floor and good pressure of hot water. The rooms also were very clean and comfortable with great view to the lake. The food in the restaurant was good with small portions as we like, but for some it could be too small though. The road to the hotel was much better than we expected, in some places just paved without the asphalt, but without big potholes or anything difficult. The parking is big, though it is far from the rooms and the reception, but there is a phone to call for assistance with the luggage. The guys working at the desk with tours were also very helpful. Overall we were happy with the stay and would recommend and come back again!||The WIFI works only in the lobby and the restaurant. We knew about it still we hope the management will look into an option of more affordable (starlink) connectivity to make available in the rooms too. The prices of the hotel are on higher end, but that is what the exclusivity means. The restaurant was also rather expensive, but due to the remoteness of the place and lack of any other options inside the park it was convenient. We bought some snacks and water in the city before we left so we could have some in the room, but beware the room does not have a fridge. The communication before arrival could be better as we were not getting answers to our questions, but could find on our own.

Yelp
Highlights 1. The FRIENDLIEST staff 2. Gluten-Free options 3. Amazing views We were lucky enough to spend one night at Hotel Lago Grey before starting the W Trek hike through Patagonia and I can't recommend it enough! We arrived early (before 12pm) and though our room wasn't ready yet (check in isn't until 3pm), the staff provided us with a welcome drink that we enjoyed while our room was prepared. Our room was ready within 30 minutes which was amazing! The rooms are cute, quaint, clean and just what I would expect in Patagonia. All rooms are accessed from the outside so you do need to go outside to get to the lodge/bar. This was totally fine with us as we came to Patagonia to be outside. The views of Lago Grey from the restaurant and bar are UNMATCHED. Hotel guests are given priority to the seats right next to the window (best view), which as hotel guests we appreciated. Wi-Fi works best from the lodge/bar/restaurant but we were able to periodically access from our room as well. We were pleasantly surprised that the hotel offered gluten-free bread which we enjoyed at lunch, dinner and breakfast the next day. We had the 3 courses pre fixe lunch our first day, the a la carte dinner and then breakfast buffet before we left. We thought all the food was great! This hotel was a convenient starting place for the W Trek as the boat ride across Lago Grey can be arranged from the hotel lobby. Highly recommend to travelers starting (or ending) the W Trek as well as travelers who wish to have a base hotel for Patagonia excursions.

Yelp
Very nice hotel in the middle of Torres del Paine! Amazing view of glacier from the dining room/bar with floor to ceiling windows. WiFi actually does work in the rooms which is nice. There is a safe in the rooms. Comfortable bed. Breakfast included and they will serve you the coffee. First morning it was a little confusing trying to get a coffee to take back to my room. Only suggestions would be water bottles included with the room and a mini fridge in the room as well.

Yelp
If you are coming here to dine-in, they charge you for WiFi. $3000 peso an hour for one device which is $4 an hour. The place is located inside the park but down a long road with many many many potholes. The parking lot is small with many big pot holes. The bar area gets really crowded especially when it is rainy outside. The receptionist is decent, not friendly. The place is really clean and the eating areas has huge windows.
