Hotel Laguna del Cocodrilo

DO NOT STAY HERE. I started off my 6 week adventure and came with lots of American money(well stupid me and wrong hotel to choose) They went into my safe and denied that no one else could have access to my safe. I am out 8000 US DOLLAR. I noticed theives inscribed on the shower wall and it all makes sense. Cameras don't work and doors don't even have deadbolts. Run and I mean run, it's all done too well you start to actually think you did something wrong.

DO NOT STAY HERE!! THEY WILL STEAL YOUR MONEY. Maids/ owners will go into your room and take any cash you have left behind. They will wait for you to leave the room and than go through your luggage to steal your money. Just look at other reviews… They stole 150 CAD from my wallet inside of my backpack. Sad they feel the need to steal from the people that provide so much money to their economy.

Awesome beachside hotel! Right on the beach with a private path to take you to the sand! Simple rooms have air conditioning, small refrigerator, and hot water. Nothing elaborate or over the top, it gets 5 stars because its really good for the price. The people who work there are awesome and super helpful. Great price for Tamarindo, would stay there again!

Poor customer service from Sandy. I booked reservations for next year and had to make changes several times on my hotel app. Once to upgrade the room and once to change the date. I received a message threatening to cancel my reservation if I make changes again. A screenshot of the message I received is attached. This should not be how your business talk to the customers. I booked with the option and ability to change my reservation as please. If you don't like it, then remove that option.

The lady & her son who run the place were excellent. It was quiet & air conditioning worked awesome. Only issue was with key not working properly for front door but I got help a new key right away. It is on the beach in secluded off right at end of main strip, so in 4 minutes walk you on your way in shops food etc…The views from this hotel at night were amazing! There’s even an amazing restaurant right downstairs and the staff are amazing. Also, the cleaning staff was so nice! You won’t regret staying here that’s for sure! Thank you for the hospitality 🇵🇱🇺🇸😊

First of all my husband ordered a room with a king size bed but when they got to the room it was two twins put together. second of all, they were stolen from. over 200$ was stolen from their room, possibly while they were sleeping, so they felt the need to literally barricade the door shut. do not stay at this place, it’s not worth your time or money.

Thought our stay was going alright until we had money stolen from toiletry bags inside of our luggage meaning they dug through our stuff looking for money. Apparently theft is a common trend here as I went to leave this I found 4 other reviews saying they ran into the same problem. They will wait for you to leave the hotel and then go into your room and search through everything looking for money. We had four nights booked here with four separate rooms. We had money stolen out of a wallet in the locked safe that “there’s only one key for”, money taken out of a bag inside a bag buried underneath clothes, and money taken out of a wallet again inside a bag buried under other things. In total we had about $400 stolen from us during our stay. You’re better off saving money by going somewhere other than here. Money was stolen from 2 different rooms. They stole both colones and USD so they will take anything they can get their hands on. Not my first trip to Costa Rica but looking like it will be my last. They have cameras but the lights will turn off automatically after a while to where the cameras are useless and just for show. Members of our party watched as an employee checked around to see if anyone was watching, and then proceed to try to enter other members of our parties room right after they watched them leave the hotel for lunch. They waited to make sure he was trying to get into the room and once they confirmed it confronted him. He quickly pulled out his phone and quickly acted like he was doing something other than trying to steal. Don’t leave anything of value here and don’t trust anyone here.

The beds are really hard at this place, and the towels are raggedy and old. Cable is in Spanish, but luckily, we brought tablets so we could watch movies that we had downloaded. The shower and the toilet backed up.... The Red Door that's attached to the hotel is fantastic. They make great drinks, the food is awesome and the people are very friendly. I got sick, but NOT from eating at the Red Door, and they were so kind to me I was really impressed. There were lots of lizards and birds and iguanas, so that was very cool. The beach is 3 minutes away and I would stay at this place again
