What a great hotel! My husband and I stayed here for two nights on our recent trip. It was a perfect mid-way point between Jokulsarlon glacier area and Vik. They had fabulous rooms, dining, and bar experience. Would recommend!

We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel. The bedrooms were comfortable and a good size and the breakfast was good. They allowed us to store some bits in their fridge which was great. The highlight for us was seeing the northern lights here.

A good option in the middle of nowhere! Great breakfast that was included in the hotel fee. But dinner was too pricey. Lovely views from a beautiful deck. Comfortable rooms. 3-person.

This hotel was the worst I stayed in this Iceland trip. I had what they touted as the best room in the hotel. The furniture old and worn, sheets scratchy, one lump pillow. The bathroom fan so loud we couldnt turn on the light. The toilet seat was torn and you could see particle board. Shower so small couldnt take one lesiurely. Drain didnt work. Wall paper torn off the walls. Dining room had leather tape over seating from all the tears in it. Front desk staff rude. The room had a "terrace" it was just boards on the grass with no seating and a view of worn out buidlings. The food was good. That is the only nice thing I can say. It would be one thing if they did nt charge the high end rate, but they do!

Beautiful hotel - facilities are nice but... When we first arrived, we were told we got upgraded - the room was on the lower floor, not very big, nothing special other than a very strange livestock smell. After mentioning this to the receptionist who agreed, we were moved to a different room - upstairs, bigger and nicer. So I wonder about the original upgrade. The rooms are very nice, the location is in the middle of nowhere surrounded by farms with horses. The breakfast was very good. The cost of this hotel was expensive for what you get but others in the area are similarly expensive.

We've stayed here only for one night. The place is nice, the rooms were clean and spacious, they have a nice restaurant and bar - good service and good drinks. The view from the terrace was impressive. Beautiful atmosphere. But they clearly need to make some improvements for the bathrooms.

This was the most disappointing of the many hotels we stayed in during our 12-day visit to Iceland. We were allotted a room in the new wing which was most unimpressive, small, with a tiny bathroom. The reception is small and gets terribly cramped if you happen to arrive when a bus load of tourists are checking in. They have a large nice looking restaurant but we dispensed with dinner. The breakfast and the very friendly staff on duty was the only redeeming feature. To be fair, the property is large and the interiors looked nice; I dare say that that rooms in the old wing are better. But we were disappointed with our room considering the tariff we paid. A newly constructed wing of rooms should have been better designed.

This hotel was dirty and outdated. Although the staff was friendly, especially the restaurant team, I was disgusted to find blood stains on the mattress cover and bottom sheet. We wanted to leave but stayed one night because the weather was bad and it was unsafe to drive. We were promised a refund for both nights but only received it for the night we checked out and some extra fees. It would have been nice for Expedia to have advocated more for us but they didn't which makes me continue to question the value of using third party booking sites. You usually pay the same amount as you would by booking with the hotel and there's less hassle when issues like this come up. Hotel Laki is 2-star motel.
