The Hotel Lanai is one of my favorite places. Compared to when I was there in 2016, it has been upgraded significantly. The rooms are amazing! However, the best part of the Hotel Lanai is the bar and restaurant staff. They are the friendliest people I have ever met. I have never come across such a wonderful group of people in my life. My fiancé and I stayed there for three days in July before we went to Kauai and will definitely be returning. I cannot say enough good things about the Hotel Lanai and its wonderful staff. The location is great as well. You have to check this place out if you go to Lanai. I guarantee you that you will not regret it.

This hotel has gotten an upgrade and has the receipts—fancy bidet toilet, sensor activated lighting which is too smart for its own good and too complicated for guests to figure out how to work. That’s all fine but the basics suffer. In-room coffee situation is abysmal, housekeeping is by request only (which they don’t tell you) and when the safe is non functional they shrug and tell you the one guy who can fix it is off island. But it’s the only non-resort game in town, so the rest of us will shrug too.

This place was so nice I am reluctant to let other people now about. The rooms are very appointed with the exception of a soft bed but thats more of a personal preference. The hotel is clean and well kept. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The location is central.

Hotel Lānaʻi is a charming and intimate property with a lot of character. The **service is warm and attentive**, making you feel right at home from the moment you check in. The check-in process itself is quick and easy, which is always appreciated after a day of travel. The **restaurant is a real highlight**—the food is flavorful, fresh, and thoughtfully prepared. All of the cocktail juices are made fresh, which makes the drinks stand out compared to your typical bar. If you’re dining there, do yourself a favor and **ask the restaurant to make you a local-style loco moco using their lamb ribs**—it’s unique, ono! As for the accommodations, the **beds are on the softer side**. Some guests might love the extra plushness, while others (like me) might find them a bit too soft—but that’s more a matter of personal preference than a flaw. One small drawback is that there isn’t a traditional **lobby or lounge space** to relax in. There are some chairs in the hallway, but it doesn’t feel like a place you’d linger for long. That said, the hotel’s overall vibe and setting more than make up for this minor shortcoming. **Overall:** Hotel Lānaʻi is a gem—authentic, welcoming, and an excellent choice if you want to enjoy great food, great service, and a uniquely local experience.

Recently renovated hotel in great condition; great location in town, like an escape retreat, friendly islanders, very lush green area in a dry island! It was my wife’s birthday, they presented her a cake with candle and an ice cream, then had the whole restaurant sing “happy birthday!” for her.

Small quaint hotel right in city center. Admittedly, city center is about a block long across both sides of Dole Park. The toilets are the best amenity this hotel offers. ||The building itself has a lot of plantation history so that nice. The room is updated and aesthetically pleasing. ||The shower pressure is light and there really isn't hot water. There is warm water to shower. ||It was disappointing that the hotel had no body lotion. Such a basic amenity. It's a good alternative to save money on a hotel when compared with Four Seasons and Sensie. ||Staff was cordial. I would stay again if my plan would be outside of the room 95% of the day. No room to walk around in your room and I booked the room with a porch thankfully. That gave us some room to move around.

Very nicely redecorated vintage hotel. Efficient and friendly staff. Great location. Main downside was our very cramped room. No chairs or any place to sit. We had a shared lanai, which helped some. Hotel restaurant is closed on Sun, and Mon. We would recommend though.
