Our first time in Rome, and this hotel did not disappoint!
We discovered this lovely hotel while researching places to stay and immediately felt it had everything we were looking for and it truly exceeded our expectations. From the moment we arrived, the front desk staff made us feel so welcome. They kindly offered to store our bags so we could explore while our room was being prepared. Since the hotel is just a short walk from the Colosseum, we headed straight there to take in the sights such an incredible way to start our trip!
When we returned, our room was ready, spotless, and absolutely beautiful. It even had a small balcony with a little table and chairs overlooking the Colosseum the view honestly took our breath away. We loved sitting out there in the evenings, listening to the sounds of the city and feeling the soft Roman breeze. We even slept with the doors open a few nights, just to enjoy that fresh air and the twinkling lights of Rome.
Each morning, we enjoyed the included continental breakfast, which was delicious and beautifully presented. They offered fresh pastries, fruit, and other options and the free specialty coffee in the morning was such a treat! Starting the day with a cappuccino or espresso while watching the city wake up was one of our favorite moments.
We also found the hotel’s location to be perfect for what we wanted to do. It’s within walking distance of so many incredible sites the Colosseum, the Roman Forum, the Basilica di Santa Croce in Gerusalemme, the Basilica of St. John Lateran, the Scala Santa, and the Basilica of St. Mary Major all important stops on our pilgrimage. The Metro was easy to navigate once we got the hang of it, and even though the Vatican is a bit farther away, it was just a short cab ride from the hotel. We felt this hotel was in an excellent location for exploring both the ancient and spiritual sides of Rome.
Every day, our room was cleaned and refreshed perfectly, and the front desk staff were always friendly, helpful, and full of great recommendations for dining and local spots. The hotel itself has such a charming, historic feel beautifully decorated, secure with gated entry, and full of character.
Our stay here was truly wonderful a little slice of heaven in the heart of Rome. We can’t wait to return to this beautiful hotel the next time we visit!
