Great location in center of Viana do Castelo and on Camino. Staff was friendly and helpful. Don't stay in room 403! Slanted ceilings with TV hanging in middle of already small room! Hit my head and caused a open wound. Walking around in room is like a maze. TV hangs lower than ceiling! I tried to change but no others available. Staff was apologetic but not much could be done. Maybe other rooms better.

I checked into this hotel on September 26th 2024 after a 16 mile day on the Portuguses Coastal Camino. My tour company arranged the reservations for all my stays. I was accompanying a group of 5 who had used the same company but separately. After 2 of them checked in and the desk was free I presented my passport. He asked me if I was on the same reservation Not knowing if all reservations showed the tour company or not I said the name of the company. He looked angered and told me he couldn't tell me, I had to tell him.|He could have easily looked up my name to see if I was on the same reservation but he didn't, so I figured out I wasnt on the same reservation. I stepped aside and let my friends complete checking in. Don't know why he couldn't look me up and check me in too.||Anyway, the real fun started after I got back from the pharmacy with stuff to address the blister and twisted ankle I had acquired on my hike and asked for ice. A previous guest had asked for the same and been provided with a bucket. The man returned with a glass and 4 cubes of ice. I asked for more and he rudely said No! I said why not! He said we are making more ice. I explained about my ankle. He said if I didn't like it he would take the ice backhand give it to another guest. I muttered "unbelievable" and he went ballistic, calling me impolite and rude. I told him I didn't like his attitude. He got up in my face, pointing his finger at me repeating impolite about 10 times. I told him he was going to far and did he treat all his guest that way. He said he was the owner and I could sleep on the street. ||I couldn't belive what was happening and turned to go to my room| He got in the elevator and continued to rant all the way up to the door and then out his foot in the door so I couldn't close it. I feared it was going to get physical and asked to please remove his foot.||I immediately called my rour company and related the encounter. They had been very good up to this point were apologetic and said they would investigate. Still waiting to hear from them.||The guy did knock on the door 15 minutes later saying Room Service!. I opened the door with some trepidation and he handed me a bucket of ice. No apologies!!!||What a nut case. Either avoid this place or don't combine about anything!

It started with an unfriendly receptionist. Then we had a very small room with a small bed and it was difficult to move around and find space for our suitcases. The toilet was smelly and we had lumpy pillows. Mosquitoes in room kept us awake at night and one bedside light was not working. The bathroom only had a glasdoor, not so good for privacy. The breakfast waiter was very involved and helpful, but the selection was limited.

Quiet location and very friendly staff but the rooms are like broom closets, and the bed was small and rather uncomfortable. Breakfast about Portuguese average (so not very good); it is not a buffet, so there's only what you get on a plate. Not much when you have a camino stage in front of you.

The hotel is well located being a three minute walk from the train station and a few more mins from the bus station. Our room was a bit compact but the beds were comfortable and the bathroom a good size. We had a nice balcony with a view of the mountain. The hotel is also close to everything of interest in town. The breakfast area is a bit tight but the gentleman who runs it is awesome - works his butt off and is very friendly. Not a glamourous hotel but it was a good stay for the price.

Very pleasant stay. Hotel staff are welcoming and helpful. Good buffet for breakfast. Room was a good size, simply furnished but OK. Room and bathroom very clean. Good location close to station and old town, on a side street so no noise - our room on the top floor with a balcony looking over the old town.

This two star hotel is steps away from the centre. Great location. My room had a shared patio so nice for an afternoon sit in the sun. Great check-in. No need to fill out anything as they had all of the information. I was escorted with my bag to my room. I have not had that experience since staying in a five star hotel in Asia. So a two star hotel with five star service. Further, I was asked if a breakfast start at 8 am was ok; I asked if 7:30 was possible and the manager said fine. That is totally rare. So I recommend this hotel, great value and service.
