Wonderful staff, wholesome quality food and their own water purification, so no tummy aches. Las Brisas has a quality gym, beautiful beaches, bird watching, yoga and boats. Lots of hills to walk up to burn up those calories, or you can take the speedy very available little carts driven by smiling hotel staff. Usually lots of chairs available on the beach too. I also enjoyed all the birds and squirrels and animals in the park like setting.
Don't go here if you want a lively party resort, it is very quiet after the few weekly shows, (over at 9:30) and early to bed is the option. I was disappointed that the early evening entertainment for a couple of the nights was repetitive, the same musician within the same week, playing the same exact set. The dancers were on for 4 of the nights at 8:30, Saturday night had a cover band which was quite good and fun to dance to, the other nights featured a quiz about Las Brisas and Karaoke which I enjoyed as I happen to be taking singing lessons. I heard grumbling from other guests however, not everyone wants to hear Karaoke across the resort after dinner.
Close to the airport and guests are mostly retirees and local families. If they could improve their nightly shows to 6-7 evenings of professional quality entertainment, that would be what is usual and expected for a 4-5 star resort. As for Karaoke, and quizzes, that could be a fun pre- show event, which is usual with most resorts I have visited (8 total in Mexico and Jamaica) but not THE evening show. I have seen Karaoke taking place in a contained bar within other resorts, so that might be an idea if there is a contained bar on the place. I believe there used to be a disco, but that would have been used when it was a club med in the 1980s and the place might have been more for a younger set. All in all a pleasant relaxing beautiful resort. Enjoy!
