Hotel Las Golondrinas

I definitely recommend staying at Hotel Las Golondrinas if you want the perfect balance between relaxing and being active. The location is amazing — quiet and peaceful, but still close enough to walk to el Centro and explore. I visited for Día de los Muertos and was traveling alone, and I couldn’t have wished for a more perfect location or kinder staff. Everyone made me feel safe, welcome, and comfortable. The hotel gives you the right amount of relaxation so you can recharge and head out to explore again. The breakfast was also very nice and a great way to start the day. I would happily stay here again. Gracias por todo!

My husband and I travel full time and enjoyed 9 nights stay at Hotel Las Golondrinas. A colorful, artsy, clean hotel with a lush courtyard garden in a perfect location to explore Oaxaca. Carmen, the hotel owner was delightful. The entire staff were friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. Carmen planned a 1/2 day trip by taxi to Teotitlán del Valle for us which ended up being a highlight of our trip! Every day that we wandered through Oaxaca exploring we always came back to Hotel Las Golondrinas knowing we were lucky to be staying here! Would highly recommend!

If I could give six stars, I would. This hotel is absolutely lovely, with lush courtyards around the property. Very secure and safe. The staff is so very friendly and helpful. Everything is clean and well-maintained. The location couldn't be better. It's an easy city to get around on foot. About $105 US, with all taxes and fees--worth every penny. Highly, highly recommend.

Las Golondrinas Hotel is a great place that makes you feel like home. Every staff member are nice and helpful. We loved this Beautiful and comfortable hotel. Has the best garden full of colors. ||We had delicious breakfast every day. ||Thank you to Carmen and her staff that made us feel special.

I have traveled throughout Mexico for years, and that was the BEST overall hotel I have stayed in , that suited my style . The staff was amazing, the beauty of the jungle of. beautiful plants and flowers that are everywhere, the convenient location a short walk to the central square and great cathedral and museum, the many opportunities to be either left alone OR to socialize with the many other repeat guests, and the low rates , all added up to a great experience. I will be back!

This place is so great we came back after a few days at the coast. Carmen and the staff are so kind and helpful. They were great in helping us with Taxis, laundry, tours, local info etc. The hotel was once a neighborhood and feels like you're staying in your own apartment. The hotel is clean and welcoming. It has lush courtyards and colorful well maintained spaces. It feels like it is on the edge of the centro so is a little more quiet, but also there is lots of restaurants and shops within 1 block. We will definitely visit again. Yaiza the dog is adorable and loved seeing us every time we came home.

A wonderful place, full of charm and character, colours, art and plants, run by wonderful people. Thank you to the staff who were super nice and helpful. Perfectly located for exploring magical Oaxaca. Spotlessly clean rooms. Our bed was huge and - great for those with sore backs - very comfortable. The added bonus was the little resident dog ❤️ Could not recommend Las Golondrinas highly enough and wish we could have stayed longer.

Staff was very friendly and helpful. My room was very clean and the decor was great. Not noisy, slept well.

Our group originally booked a hostel down the street, and decided to pop by to see the price! We were pleasantly surprised with the value! They had a room with 3 beds so it was even cheaper, and we had our own restroom. Call us spoiled! As we journeyed to your room, lead by very kind staff, we walked up stairs and thru hallways covered in plants and flowers. We had to wait for checkin, because we were early, and really enjoyed seating in chairs under the foliage! The rooms were clean, and comfortable. The breakfast was nice! Any small thing we asked for we recieved right away. If I am lucky enough to come back to Oaxaca, I would find it hard to not stay here again.

This hotel is simply fantastic. The staff was super friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Las Golondrinas is one of the most charming hotels I have stayed in while visiting Oaxaca, which I have visited five times now. The hotel is centrally located, within easy walking distance of the Zocolo. The rooms are super clean, the Wifi is fast. The price is most reasonable. I highly recommend Hotel Las Golondrinas. This hotel is right on the heart of el centro actually on one of the main streets in Oaxaca city but not to worry about the noise since the place is very well distributed and its actually very big once you get in. The place is divided in three and the first thing that caught my eye was the astonishing little ecosystem in the patios, there is so many beautiful plants and rest areas.I noticed the prices were fairly low during high season and average during low season, I asked and I realized the price doesnt actually changes either low or high season, which I thought was more fair keeping a balanced price throughout the year rather that over pricing during high season and contribution to gentrification. The hotel room is super clean and everything works properly, the internet its fast so if you are travelling and in need of good connection. The breakfast is not included but honestly for the price of the room is totally affordable and the food is fresh homemade Oaxacan style. This hotel is quiet, perfect for rest and privacy not really a whole lot of families, I encountered artists, reporters, anthropologist and some couples. Dont expect a TV in your room or all those city hotels additions, you are in Oaxaca the entertainment and beautiful colors are out there.

Stayed at Las Golondrinas many years ago. Recommended it to a friend who will shortly be visiting Oaxaca. After looking at the beautiful pictures posted on the yelp site I realized I have to go back to Oaxaca soon and of course, must stay at Las Golondrinas. A warm and charming hotel in a magical city.
