Beautiful hotel with lovely decor. It had a very peaceful vibe throughout, with hammocks and outdoor seating you can chill at if you wanted to relax outside. Everyone is really kind and helpful. We arranged a taxi pickup with them at 5AM to catch out flight, and the cab was there waiting for us before 5AM. It's also in a quiet location that's walking distance from the center. We had a great stay here, highly recommended!

Awesome hotel! The staff here is amazing. Crystal was so wonderful helping us get checked in. She was patient as I stumbled around with my spanish. The rooms were clean and well kept. The atmosphere is tremendous. I also loved that it is so close to the park, La Llano! Definitely try it out when you come to Oaxaca!

Las Mariposas is a great little hotel near the historic center of Oaxaca, walking distance to bars, restaurants, shops and attractions. Hotel is also located very close to colorful neighborhood of Jalatlaco. The hotel is located in cute little garden, rooms are nice and spacious and fast Wi-Fi. The hotel is gated which adds to security and you need to be buzzed in and out every time. Breakfast is very basic and there are several cute breakfast places nearby.

Oh my gosh I just loved it and was sad to leave. I was in Room D, at the back of the garden. Just the right size for me with loads of storage space. Liked the eco touches, like the bucket in the shower to save water as it warms up. Breakfast was cute and different every day. Felt very secure here. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Also. Lea the dog. Love her. Oh yeah and you can borrow a hat or an umbrella and store your luggage if you need to.

First, remember this is a budget hotel. It has a great location and is very secure and safe (you have to buzz in and out through a metal gate). The patio/garden area is very pretty. I stayed here for two weeks while attending language school. Staff was friendly and pleasant although I really didn’t interact with them very much. My room was for two people but I think it would not have worked well for two people. It was fine for just me. It was very small and very sparse with just one small table and one chair. No air conditioning but I was able to leave my window open which was screened but didn’t really have a view. Bed would have been a little small for two people. Mattress a little hard. As per other reviews, breakfast is just coffee, bran flakes and bread/rolls/pastries. I did not eat there even once given so many other options for breakfast in the area. I did notice an occasional person or couple preparing other food for breakfast or dinner in the communal area. I always leave a thank you card and a cash tip in my room to thank the cleaning staff (my room was cleaned every day) so I was a little surprised to be mildly pressured when I paid my final bill to leave a tip on my credit card for the entire staff. I declined since I had already left one for the cleaning staff. I do recommend this hotel for a budget traveler since it really is a decent place in a great location for a value price.

The beds were alright, untfortunately no AC in the room, only a rather loud stand-up fan. Also no real safe available, just a wooden box with a simple lock. Nice and chilled patio though with several places to sit and even a hammock. Location was good, breakfast rather basic. Biggest disadvantage the missing AC, otherwise alright considering the price paid

great location, amazing staff, and great price. the door is guarded by security, so it feels extremely safe. there’s free breakfast which we didn’t try but looked delicious. the rooms were clean, and spacious. they had a desk with chair, a fan, a hanger for your clothes and a stool for your luggage. the bathroom and shower were in great condition, provided shower gel but not shampoo so pack that in advance. in our room there wasn’t AC, but during October with the fan on and the window open it was comfortable to sleep.

Really enjoyed my stay here. The rooms were clean. The beds were comfortable. The shower was hot. The staff was kind. Free coffee in the morning in the hotel's gorgeous garden was a lovely perk! Would definitely stay here again.
