Overall a lovely place. We stayed at one of their nearby apartments which is a really cool space but unfortunately the small bed was incredibly uncomfortable and the AC didn't work well so it wasn't the best night of sleep. My parents have also stayed at one of the rooms directly at the hotel and liked it quite a bit. We enjoyed the pool at the hotel and loved the easy beach access! Personally, I was not very impressed by the turtle tour provided by Sr. Jonathon, I thought it was very poorly communicated / organized and over-priced.

One of the best beaches I've been to- hotel is as close as you can get. Very friendly staff, great food, great atmosphere.

Our family stayed at Hotel Las Tortugas for five nights in early June. The weather was perfect and the service was impeccable during our visit. We flew into Liberia and then drove for about 2 hours to reach Hotel Las Tortugas on Playa Grande. The bungalow that we rented had three large beds, a kitchenette, and an indoor bathroom. It also had a large front porch and an outdoor shower on the side. The outdoor shower was especially helpful in rinsing off the sand every time we returned from the beach, which was about 100 feet away. The friendly staff offered helpful tips and provided tasty meals. We did the Canoa tour with Jonathan, which we enjoyed and saw numerous wildlife. To top off our visit at Las Tortugas, we saw a tortuga lay eggs and make her way back to the sea. It was muy lindo!

Candlelit ocean front dining, delicious authentic food and a sweet attentive crew! We enjoy having the “Gallo” for breakfast and our New Year’s Eve dinner was amazing. Sunsets out-front on the beach are a MUST- watch for the “green flash”. World class surf and nurturing yoga classes set in a unique space.|My 7 year old son and I had a fabulous experience. Thank you!

On long, beautiful Playa Grande. Lovely people. Has kept it's beautuful, charming Costa Rican style, while other coastal towns become over crowded. Slightly rustic rooms, but welcoming, authentic vibe, lovely pool, and stunning location outweigh anything else. Stay quiet Playa Grande! Thank you for a beautiful time! Surfer's Paradise!

Beautiful location, welcoming and authentic atmosphere, amazing food at the restaurant! |We will be back to stay with them next year! |Also, we can not find a trip advisor profile for Jonathan, who runs the estuary tours from the hotel, but this was the highlight of our trip! He was so passionate and knowledgeable about the ecology of the park! We LOVED him!

We ate at the restaurant before sunset. We were greeted with smiles. The service was awesome. The food was awesome. They made suggestions for drinks and desert. There are clean and wonderful hammocks on the property. The property was very clean and well maintained. I would recommend this establishment to anyone visiting Playa Grande

The noisy dungeon they gave us under the stairs nearest the parking lot was overpriced. We were woken up early in the morning by people having a loud conversation right outside our door. There was hardly enough room to open our suitcases and get around the space. The shower was minimally working with warm water coming out of only about 1/4 of the shower head. Additionally, there was no available internet in the room, despite numerous conversations where they tried to "problem solve" the issue. If I stood in the hallway next to reception upstairs I could get on the network as long as I didn't wander more than a few feet away. At least it worked fine in the restaurant, which was actually delightful with great service and food (though also shockingly expensive). The upside to this place was the beach which was gorgeous and only a short walk from the hotel.
