Hótel Laugarvatn

I got a last minute room for two nights. The room itself was good, new and clean. But in a kind of basement with a parking lot right before the big window so I had I close the curtains all the time. But as I said - last minute, last room. And - this goes to other tourists - please don’t be awful loud at night. And don’t let your kids run through the corridors, knocking at strangers doors and trying out door codes at random doors. Besides this everything was really good. The service is exceptional! What a wonderful team! Good food and free coffee for guests. There’s a gas station with a small supermarket one minute away and it’s a 15 min drive to the Geysir. Would definitely stay again

Well located hotel for visiting Þingvellir and Geysir with helpful staff. The room was on the smaller side so it was a bit snug with our two suitcases in there. The bathroom was similarly small but perfectly functional, however it could have done with some towel hooks. It worked well as an overnight stop along the way and I would happily stay for a night again but I don’t think I would stay multiple nights or a longer stay.

Our room was clean and spacious enough. Dinner didn’t open til 1800 so I walked down the drive to a quaint pizza etc place where I had a delicious lamb pizza. I had the buffet breakfast self serve cold items only. Quite expensive for what you get (but everything is expensive in Iceland) While this is a good location for the GC there is not much else around. There is a mini market/gas within walking distance

This is a lovely, simple hotel in a beautiful location. The rooms and the bar area are very comfortable and, although the food menu is limited, it was very tasty. Philip provided outstanding customer service and was very friendly. Importantly, he was able to adapt one of the sandwich options to accommodate my partner's vegan diet. He was also able to make some excellent suggestions for places for us to visit later in our. Would highly recommend.

A great hotel at a great price. Cozy. We wanted a place to stay on our final full day in Iceland after van camping all week. Had reservations at the nearby geothermal baths and decided to stay for a real bed and a hot shower. The room was cozy and simple and the shower was great. We struggled with temperature regulation as we could not get it to cool down. We ended up sleeping with the windows open all night and ended up being the perfect temp as it snowed outside. Staff was kind and helpful. They helped us with some laundry that needed to be done at a super fair pans got it back to us in only a few hours. We were there in the off season so the hotel restaurant was not open for dinner.

Great hotel and restaurant, friendly people. Check-in was very smooth. The food was delicious in a cozy ambiance. There's free coffee and tea for guests. Location is perfect for exploring around the Golden Circle.

Unfortunately, we did not have the best stay here for numerous reasons. First, was the heating situation. The room was exceptionally hot! The sun beats into the room and there are no fans or anything to circulate the air. While we were getting ready in the morning, we were absolutely dying. The second issue here was the noise. People were in the hallway, until about midnight, being loud and banging on doors. I think a tour group came in, and they were going room to room. I feel like there should be some sort of rule about being loud like that in the middle of the night. It was exceptionally loud. In the morning, we needed a hairdryer, which was kind of an ordeal to track down. This hotel is in a great location if you are looking to go to Silfra in the morning or do the bread baking experience at the lake. There is no where to eat in town for breakfast, except for one hotel down the street. So be prepared for that.

Nice hotel with friendly staff! The bathroom is unexpectedly nice and spotless clean👍there is a small supermarket right next to it. Breakfast is okay 👌
