Hôtel Lavaux

I highly recommend this hotel based upon my recent 3 night stay. Surrounded by a hilltop of wine vineyards! Concrete paths through the vineyards to access the small village above the hotel. Staff was pleasant and attentive. The hotel is located on main road running parallel to Lake Geneva to the town of Cully located on the lake. Nearby restaurants and cafes within 12-15 min walk. 31 free parking spaces for guests. Train station is 3 minute walk that runs every hour or walk 12 mins to Cully and take the train running every 30 minutes either east or west to nearby towns. A walking trail near water can be accessed from the train station platform 3 min walk from hotel that takes you on waters edge to the quaint village of Cully with several coffee and pastry shops to enjoy. The dinner was exceptional at the Lavaux hotel restaurant and the wait staff were friendly and attentive. Ask the hotel front desk for free Lausanne pass allowing free train, metro, and bus services to small towns including Lausanne during your stay. I will book a future stay when I return to this region.

Great location for exploring the area for wine, food and lake. Rooms are well equipped and lak view rooms are a must. Staffs are nice. Room has tv, mini fridge and safe box too. Restaurant beside the hotel is of great value too. View from the rooms is great. Breakfast was simple and should be definitely improved.

The location of Hotel Lavaux is truly stunning – nestled among the vineyards with expansive views over Lake Geneva. Our room had a beautiful panoramic window offering a spectacular lake view, and we really appreciated the exterior shutters that provided both privacy from the street and trains, as well as effective sun protection. From the hotel, you can walk straight down to the lake and enjoy a swim – there’s even a floating platform, which makes it ideal for summer. There are also scenic hiking trails through the vineyards that start right behind the hotel. The nearby village of Cully is just a 15-minute walk away and offers a nice range of restaurants. We also liked that the hotel has a snack and drink vending machine available 24/7, a restaurant, and a terrace. Daily cleaning was provided, and small requests (like cutlery for the room) were met without any issues. Now, a few things to be aware of: The biggest downside is the noise. Even though we expected some due to the hotel’s location near a main road and railway, we were surprised by how clearly we could hear trains and cars even with the doors closed. Sitting on the balcony wasn’t very relaxing because of that – we ended up keeping the doors shut most of the time. The bathroom cleanliness was okay but could have been better – not dirty, but not spotless either. The staff was polite, though not particularly warm or engaging. All in all, we’d still recommend the hotel for the location and views – just be aware that it’s not a quiet countryside retreat, and noise from the road and trains is very present.

+Comfortable and clean hotel with beautiful view. Comfy beds and pillows. Right in the vineyards and 12 minutes away by train from Lausanne (trains are not very frequent though)-Staff could be friendlier. There’s a bit of noise from the train tracks and the road so if you’re a light sleeper, I wouldn’t recommend (or pack really good earplugs).

We travel 4 months a year, stay at Great many hotels. This hotel is perhaps one of the best and most memorable stays we've ever had. |The location is spectacular, the view is beyond imagination (will attempt to attach couple photos).|The service has been a gift from the near midnight check in to this morning with hotel Director Braga going above and beyond to help us out.||Highly recommend for any stay while in this Beautiful country.

There are just a few accomodations in this area and this hotel is the most modern one. Good location on the main road, going along the vineyards and the lake. View of the lake, the French side if the lake, but also of the road and the railroad. Parking is a little confusing. The room was very well kept and the balcony was a pleasant extra. What was totally unacceptable was the fact that the elevator didn't work. For the 24h we spent at this place there was no working lift, no attempt to fix it and no alternatives. The second unacceptable fact was, that the restaurant was closed. Since the hotel is out of town one had to get, even for a tea, into a car and drive to town. Why a place has to shut down totally, for two weeks, at the end of the main season is behond me.

The location is great, and the views are nice, but I have been bitten all over, and I'm not happy. The room could have been a lot cleaner; the walls need to be wiped down. Cleanliness is a must, too many dogs in the hotel i will not be returning.

On the positive side: - the location is stunning with amazing views of the lake, mountains and vineyards, and easy access to the beach - the rooms and hotel were very clean and functional - the price was pretty reasonable. On the negative side: - as mentioned by many other reviewers, sound proofing is poor, meaning you hear neighbor rooms, and if you chose a room facing south for the gorgious view, you hear the trains and cars a lot. Rooms on the north side don't suffer from the outdoor noise but beware that the view is very limited on first and second floors (basically facing a wall). I can't remember if there are any north facing rooms on the 3rd floor, but they might have slightly better views - the decoration of the room and overall hotel is pretty limited, some modern hospitals look warmer than this hotel - checking in on Wednesday late afternoon felt roughly as friendly as how I picture checking into a prison on your first day of incarceration... Bottom line: I'd recommend hiring an interior designer to pimp up the indoor spaces, and providing some 4* level customer service training to the late afternoon receptionist. This would go a long way to making this amazingly located place feel cosy. As to sound proofing, that would turn this place into an absolute gem, but this is certainly a far costlier initiative.

the hard floor in the rooms was so bad. nothing like you see in the states. one water in the room that isn't replenished. unairconditioned hallway. depending on your needs you're not in a town and there is only three/four restaurants in the town. all super expensive. the workers were nice. make sure ask them for the free train tickets and other discounts. the trains to get to neighboring town only come once an hour so you have to be on your A game. the view from the front of the hotel was so pretty. the walls are pretty thin i always heard people next to me more than the outside traffic since it is located by the tracks and road pro tip if you're arriving to the hotel by train get off at the espesses station instead of cully. espesses is about 4 minutes away where cully is 17

If you like modern hotel at 200 meters of an authentic village it's a pretty nice place. Yes you may be afraid by the train rails between the hotel and the lac but the quality and the service are very good, and the train in Switzerland if surprisingly not noisy. The restaurant of the hotel is although interesting and the product are well selected. Half of the menu is prepared with product from Switzerland. And the wine is good too without being over expensive.

We booked this hotel to have a spot in the wine area from which we easily could walk around and visit the villages nearby. When we arrive the check in was really quick and we got offered a huge load of recommendations and ideas on what to do during the next day. We appreciated this very much and want to thank the receptionist who is a great local ambassador. The room is spacious and well equipped. The view is great while lying in the bed. As the hotel is close to the street you have to except some noise, but the good windows bring that down to a acceptable level. I was more disturbed by the noise going on outside out room meaning the other people leaving at 7 in the morning and cleaning noise that started rather early as well.

Nice and stylish hotel at Lake Geneva, close to Lausanne. Friendly staff at the reception. We were a group of four and stayed in two doublerooms facing the wineyards. We very much liked the moderne bathrooms. The rooms were clean but a little monochrome in white as there were no paintings/pictures in the rooms. This probably is on purpose following a specific concept, but then the walls should be clean (white) and not stained. We were also disappointed about the dirty windows. Walls and windows do not match up to a 4star-hotel - in our opinion. Room prices do not include breakfast so we went to a nice bakery in Cully. Cully is a nice spot to start discovering the Lavaux and Lausanne area.
