L'Avenida Hotel

"Occupying one of the elegant mansions built along Sóller’s tree–shaded Gran Via, the eight-room L’Avenida has the vibe of a swanky house party. The central white-marble staircase and mahogany railing are part of the original Art Nouveau design by Joan Rubio, a student of Gaudí, as are the pine doors and certain other decorative flourishes. And while the owners have given this place an edgy Rat Pack look—with black chandeliers, tufted leather headboards, dark oak parquet, contemporary art, and bold lighting fixtures—L’Avenida has a palpable old-world charm. Rooms are exceptionally spacious, with high ceilings and large windows; most still have the original moldings. The pool in the garden is lined with sun loungers upholstered in fuchsia canvas. With buckets of style and a friendly staff, L’Avenida makes Sóller very much part of the new generation of design hotels."

L'Avenida, Soller, Mallorca - Explore & Book

"Since opening in 2007, L’Avenida has undoubtedly upheld the hip quota of Soller, the picturesque town on Mallorca's northwest coast. Surrounded by spectacular mountains, with cute cafés and funky boutiques on your doorstep and a sandy beach a tram ride away, the setting is stunning. But what makes this hotel really stand out is the visionary design and personal approach of founders Tania and Paul Slijper, who have added their own glamorous-chic styling to this Modernist mansion with great success. Etched glass doorways and an art nouveau reception desk sit next to contemporary-print wallpapers and urbane-chic Kartell lamps. A sweeping marble staircase leads to 12 elegant bedrooms, most featuring original frescoes on high ceilings, decadent chandeliers, Parisian fabrics, Bonnaccina chairs, luxurious Philippe Starck bathrooms and perfectly framed views of the Tramuntana peaks. To top it off, there's a charming courtyard pool with sail-covered gazebo. Highs An intriguing blend of early 20th- and 21st-century style and comfort Great location: just a 3-minute walk from Soller's pretty main square and a 10-minute tram ride to its scenic port and beach Most bedrooms have picturesque mountain views Sybaritic lounging by courtyard garden swimming pool with an all-day bar Excellent range of in-room spa treatments, including massages and manicures, and a well-equipped micro gym Lows During July and August, a morning children's summer camp operates next door - noise carries but the hotel offers alternative sunbathing at a nearby Port Soller hotel No private parking at the hotel but there's a public car park across the street Being in the town centre, the garden is surrounded by other buildings No children under 14 years, and no lift" - Aidan Forestier-Walker

Hotel L'Avenida (Mallorca, Balearic Islands) 1 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Islands and beaches are a classic combination, but sometimes it pays to head for the hills instead. In this case that means the hilltop town of Sóller, half an hour north of Palma de Mallorca, with a view out to sea over the northern coast of the island. It’s here, in an architecturally distinguished century-old townhouse, that L’Avenida makes its home. It’s elegant enough on the outside, but it’s somehow even more impressive inside, where period architectural details and an eclectic variety of furnishings and décor are unified by the keen eye of a skilled contemporary designer." - Tablet Hotels

This is a wonderful hotel. It is located in a quiet street in the centre of the town of Soller. The building is a beautiful old Mallorca villa with a very sweet walled area at the back with a lovely swimming pool and sitting area where breakfast is served. The rooms are very well appointed, very comfortable with a good ensuite shower room. We couldn't get the TV to work but we didn't really need it. The only negative about the room is that really a hotel of this calibre should have a coffee machine instead of instant coffee sachets. Also, there is no lift and if your room is upstairs or downstairs and there is no strong man on duty you have to lug your suitcases up and down yourself. Breakfast is very good but the service can be a little slow as there might be only one or two staff on duty and you will have to wait for your first coffee of the day!! Matthew and Monica are charming hosts and anything you need they will be there for you. Also, the welcome glass of cava is a lovely touch. I heartily recommend this lovely hotel.

I stayed at this lovely boutique hotel with 6 of my girlfriends at the end of September. It was truly an amazing stay, from the staff, beautiful rooms and delicious breakfast. The hotel is perfectly situated for access into the square of Soller, the port is walkable; and we also enjoyed some amazing hikes into Deià and the Tramuntana mountain. I wouldn’t hesitate to return to this hotel and area; it has become a new favourite place! Thank you to Matthew and all the family of staff who made an exceptional stay.

Stayed here for three nights at end of September. Hotel was amazing from the views of the Tramuntana mountains from our window to the delicious breakfast everything was perfect. Bed was soft and comfortable, bathroom big and best bit it was adults only making sitting by the pool a truly relaxing experience. It was a very short walk into the centre of Soller and a good base for walks to Fortulxt and Porta Soller. I would highly recommend the hotel, staff went out of their way to make your stay the best it could be. The only issue which is not the hotels fault is that parking is tricky and expensive.

Fantastic boutique, small hotel providing calm and peacefulness. Staff were great, very, helpful and happy which made our stay wonderful. Soller is a small, peaceful town with all happening around the town square which the tram runs through down to the Port as well as the train station being adjacent which takes you Palma. This is five minute walk from the hotel though note, night life closes down around 9.30/10.00pm which really aligns with the peaceful experience you get from the L'Avenida. Bus service is three, four minute walk away so you have plenty of options to explore from the hotel. Breakfast was spot on, not big but more than enough for pretty much everyone's needs. Thank you Hotel L'Avenida for a wonderful stay.

Just returned from this really impressive||boutique hotel with only 12 rooms and thankfully for August, adult only! The room we had (No 2, first floor) was tastefully decorated, spacious with a separate sitting area and a large bathroom (shower only) Do note there is no lift/elevator so rooms on the 2nd floor may mean some exercisel The bed incredibly confoftable and the shutters on the window pretty much blacked-out all light (oerfect for mel. TV had very limited channels but access to Netflix and other streaming channels and the WiFi was reliable from start to finish. Breakfast was included and was good (not spectacular) with some decent a la carte options plus some buffet usuals (cereals, juices, cheese, meats, pastries etc) and the wonderful pool was almost always empty with plenty of sunbeds to choose from. ocation is fantastic for Soller old-town; a short 2 minute walk to the square and also the tram that takes you (25 minutes) to Port de Soller||The staind-out performer was Matthew, who works his socks off running around to make sure everything is perfect for allthe guests and his attention to customer service is right up there for me with the best we have come across. In fact all the staff went above and beyond to help us with anything we wanted and do an incredible job.||There are a number of things to note which add not to be difficult but to (hopefully) help other travellers and also to nudge management.||1. There was a school (l was told only summer) next door and there was playground noise from am one day and 8:35am the next. As the lightest of sleepers this did wake me on both mornings.||2. Car parking is an issue. We got VERY lucky to find a space in the open-air car oark||opposite but the alternatives were (lthink) 5 mins+ away which would have been a pain. As we did have a space we didn't move the hire car for the uration of the trip which negates the reason of hiring!||3. Lunch options (around the pool)were great but after 4 lunches were a bit "'samey". We did ask for something of fmenu and they very happily obliged but perhaps a "special" here and there would be well received by guests. Ultimately, none of the above really detracted from a wonderful, relaxing and enjoyable stay (and for Europe in August, great value) and 1 would not be at all surprised if we return in the future.

We loved our five nights at the lovely hotel. Mathew was very helpful and welcoming from start to finish. The breakfast comes highly recommended. We loved our morning dips in the pool and the hotel was a great base for the surrounding area. We hope to return soon.|Gavin and Steph
