Hotel Diffuso Le Case dei Conti Mirafiore (Serralunga d'Alba, Piedmont) 1 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Occupying a distinctive 1930s building that originally housed workers for the Barolo vineyards, Hotel Le Case dei Conti is now a decidedly upmarket affair, furnished by a who’s-who of contemporary Italian designers and manufacturers. Its setting, on the Fontanafredda wine estate, is idyllic, as are the views of the rolling hillsides from the bedroom windows. 11 more rooms occupy the Foresteria, the old 19th-century plant nursery, and the village remains as a living museum to the history of the winemaking craft. At the center of the village is Osteria Disguido, serving simple, traditional fare crafted from the finest local ingredients." - Tablet Hotels

Stayed in a deluxe room with a view over the vineyard which was stunning. Stylish, modern and comfortable.|Our issues with our stay were more about the information (or lack of) provided at check-in. |There’s so much to do here, including a lovely woodland walk, cellar tours and probably other stuff we never found out. There is some information in the room but it’s general, rather than specific with times and prices.|For example, to book the cellar tour we spoke to reception who claimed to have no details and then queued up in the busy wine shop to find out if they could help. |Feels like a management issue rather than any individual. Why not have a sheet to hand out at check-in with all the details of all activities or something on the screen in the room.|One final observation - felt like the real focus here is not on individual guests, but more on the large corporate events which seem to take place every day..?

We stayed here for 3 nights as part of a VBT bicycling tour of Piedmont and Liguria. Our room was spacious and comfortable, with a little balcony that looked over the grounds, winery and vineyards. One of the coolest parts of the room was the in-room "wine cellar" that took the concept of the minibar to the next level, and with very affordable pricing...about 19 euro for a delicious bottle of sparkling wine.||We had a lovely catered dinner in the spa building at the top of the hill one night and also ate dinner one night in the lobby restaurant. Both meals were excellent and paired with their delicious wines. The small breakfast buffet was complemented with made-to-order eggs. ||Through the VBT group, we received a tour of their wine cellar and a fun truffle hunting expedition in the woods on the grounds. ||Just a couple miles from the hotel is the cute town of Serralunga D'Alba, with a few shops, restaurants and even an Eataly outpost.

Lovely grounds with multiple buildings housing 2 hotels, a winery and gardens. Centuries old property with lots of history, if you take the time to get a tour of the place. Rooms were spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was really good, with many selections from which to choose. Choice of some of their wines available in the room, at what seemed like a decent price, but I was too tired to consume a whole bottle of wine!

I wanted to like this hotel more than I did. Rooms were fine (I was surprised they didn't have robes). We had a balcony and it was nice to sit out at night. The breakfasts were great! The chef makes great cafe americano (best we had anywhere in Europe) and my omelette both mornings was delicious. They were nice enough to accommodate us for an earlier breakfast as well, as we had to leave early our last day. Very convenient free parking, too,||||On the whole, the hotel is a large building. Rooms are on top levels and the entire downstairs is one very big room consisting of the breakfast area, a wine tasting area (never saw anyone there but I think that's what it is), and a bookstore. To me, the modern feel of an area whose history is so ancient- including that of the hotel itself felt out of place and somewhat antiseptic, though again- may just be personal taste. ||||It would have been nice if there was an area to purchase bread and cheese or sandwiches to enjoy on the balcony or in the park that is part of the property. The hotel does not offer dinner and is somewhat isolated. Driving those windy roads at night (after maybe drinking some wine :-) was a little scary. ||||A lot of potential- I hope they can figure out who they want to be.

Beautiful room with wonderful amenities (my daughter and I especially enjoyed the face cream). There's a mini fridge in the room (charges apply, but are very reasonable), along with full sized bottles of wine available (don't worry, there's a wine opener and wine glasses available in the room😉). The Chinotto that was in the mini fridge was the best that we had so far. The breakfast exceeded our expectations, it was absolutely wonderful (I'm not a nutella fan, but my family raved about their housemade version, apparently a must try). The breakfast has a buffet portion in addition to items that you can request from a menu. We dined here for lunch one day and it was one of the best meals we have had in Italy (I recommend the cheese platter, ravioli, risotto, and truffle pasta). All of the red wine was fabulous! (I'm partial to red wine, so I don't feel that it's fair for me to assess the white wine when having them side by side 😂) The customer service here is above par! Our daughter had an issue with her foot and the lovely lady at the desk was extremely helpful in telling us exactly where to go and what to do. All of the service providers here were kind, polite, and very helpful and accommodating. The only thing that bothered me a little, which is actually very trivial, was that the room didn't have a full length mirror in the room itself (the only mirror was in the bathroom, so my husband and I had to take turns getting ready...like I said, very trivial). While we only turned the TV on once for about 10 minutes, if you follow the directions they leave you in the room, you'll be able to find something to watch in several language options. Navigating the AC (air conditioning) did take some time, but we eventually figured it out (thanks to our son who is more technologically advanced 😂). I highly recommend staying here. Very quiet, very nice, excellent customer service, everything you need in one place...WONDERFUL!

This hotel is a historic place in Serralunga D'Alba, and it is amazing!||We had reserved for 5 nights,as we wanted to move around "Piemonte" to visit all the little cities we could, such as Barolo, Barbaresco, La Morra ... and Serralunga D'Alba was the prefect location for that.||When we arrived we enjoyed the views of a vast "nebbiolo" grape plantation before getting to the "Foresteria" itself.||As they alerted in the check-in instructions there was nobody on site to help us, but we followed the orientations and everything went well.||There is a flight of stairs to get to the door, but inside there is a small elevator (very good for the big amount of luggage we had).||The room we got was called "Lazzarito" after one of the wines they make. It was a very bright, clean and spacious room. The big surprise was the Barolo bottle waiting for us as a welcome gift! Incredible!||The bathroom was very good and clean also, good shower power and amenities.||They also gave us a cellar visit with wine tasting the next day, which we really appreciated, and we discover that it was right there in their cellar that the first meeting of the "Slow Food Style" happened! Awesome!||The breakfast was good, a variety of "crudos" and cheese, yogurt, breads, cakes... The lady who served us, Rosana if I remenber right, was very nice and we thank her for her kindness. ||We didn't have the chance to have lunch at the restaurant nearby, but I think it is a good and affordable place.||Wifi was good and everywhere.||They also had a self service tea in the afternoon, very thoughtful.||Walking around is not only beautiful but also peaceful and full of soothing views.||We did have dinner at Guido restaurant next door, which was amazing and I highly recommend.||The only problem whatsoever is that it is an isolated place because it is not in a city, so there are no supermarkets or drugstores nearby, you have to go everywhere by car, even for a quick dinner.

The best place I've ever been. First, the hotel is brand new with top class facilities and services. the highest quality equipment and furniture with exceptional cleanliness. The best place for your relaxation and wine exploration. The atmosphere and the view was amazing. Breakfast exceeded Italian expectations.
