A True Home Away from Home in Épernay I had the pleasure of staying at Hotel Le Clos Raymi during my visit to Épernay, and it was truly a delightful experience. This charming, classic French-style boutique hotel felt like a home away from home. Its location is perfect—just a short walk from the famous Avenue de Champagne, the heart of Épernay. The hotel exudes a cozy, welcoming atmosphere, ideal for anyone looking to experience authentic French hospitality. Breakfast is served with a personal touch, handled warmly by a single, friendly lady who makes you feel right at home. I’d recommend learning a few simple French phrases to enhance your communication—it really adds to the experience and makes things even smoother. If you’re visiting Épernay and want to feel the comfort of home while soaking in the charm of the Champagne region, I highly recommend staying at Hotel Le Clos Raymi. A hidden gem you’ll remember fondly!

A royal scion by the name of Olivier struts about the place, keeping mice at bay and cuddles in high demand. He manages a quiet hotel close to the major Champagne Houses, with comfortable beds, quiet rooms and a delicious breakfast. I would recommend staying here, even if it is just to see the beautiful cat, Olivier 😺

A totally outstanding small hotel just 5 minutes walk from the centre of Épernay. The hotel offers a lovely atmosphere. The rooms are clean and well equipped. Breakfast was freshly prepared for us. Parking is secure behind gates that are locked at 7pm and can only be opened by residents. Highly recommend this hotel.

This really is, as they advertise, 'home from home' - very relaxed. In fact, we only saw one lady who seemed to do everything. Friendly, and efficient, and we got to practice our French as she didn't speak English. At first we were slightly worried as it seemed further from town than we thought, but actually it's 5-10 mins tops to walk in and you have the town of Epernay and Avenue de champagne on your doorstep. Parking is handy too, though most champagne houses accommodate plenty of cars too. I read somewhere this was a house owned by Monsieur Chandon. I didn't know that at the time. As I say - very relaxed. You are really left to your own devices, everything is unfussy and homely. Art and paintings very nice. I loved the big windows, radiators ... old style French chic. Recommended for a great location.

A classic old style French hotel. Everywhere looks as if it needs redecorating but is still spotless. Sort of shabby chic. Very nice artwork in rooms and public areas. Breakfast is good in a nice room. Nice gardens and good parking. Very good spot just behind Avenue de Champagne walking distance of champagne houses and town centre. Pricey? A little but we’ll worth it.

As we drove down the road I didn’t expect much, it appeared to be a bit of a city street, what a surprise! |A beautiful house, lovely interior, lovely French welcome.|Our room was a delight, tastefully decorated, tranquil and relaxing. After a long drive it was perfect to just rest a while before dinner.|Minutes walk from town, no need for transport.|Breakfast was a bit steep at 18e per person, however, I didn’t mind paying that for the experience.|Sometimes you come across a little gem and want to keep it all to yourself, this is a lovely place to stay with a really nice owner who goes out of her way to make you feel welcome.|I really fell in love with this place, what’s not to like, comfy bed, great linen, robes, tastefully decorated. Beautiful house. Great host.|Give yourself a treat as you really are worth this experience, if you only try it once. You won’t be disappointed.|

We were so pleased with our choice of hotel for a stopover in Epernay. The hotel has so much character, is very quiet (just ten minutes walk from the centre), has secure private parking and a very warm and friendly host. Our room was light and airy, and very peaceful. There was a plentiful, varied offering for breakfast. It was the perfect place to stay and we would have no hesitation in recommending to others.

Dreadful. “Superior” room was disgusting. Small, badly decorated, no shower curtain, nothing to attach the shower head to the wall. Really? To cap it off, a very rude proprietor. Reminded us of French hoteliers from the 1970s. Avoid!
