The hotel location is just outside of the busy, touristy part of Les Eyzies which makes it quiet yet close to amenities. The rooms are basic but comfortable and reasonably priced. Owner/operators, Jan and Ruud are attentive and hospitable, making our stay comfortable and very pleasant . We arrived by bicycle on a hot day and were greeted with a suggestion to have a drink ( house-made limoncello spritz) by their pool. | |The restaurant is the main attraction. The meals were fresh and flavourful; innovative twists on French classics as well as some international choices. All beautifully plated and delicious. It was definitely the best meal in our three weeks in France.

This hotel of such spirit and soul is a gem in the middle of the prehistoric Les Eyzies area. It is run by the wonderful Ruud and Jan, who work tirelessly to make your stay the most pleasant it can be by being the most pleasant two people imaginable. The rooms are charming, comfortable and tasteful. The walls of the limestone rock that the hotel is built upon jut into the hallways, which is so cool given it's situated right next to the prehistoric site where our ancient ancestors were first discovered in that area. On top of the overall charm of the place there is the wonderful pool for cooling down in after a day of exploring. Then, as an added bonus, you dine al fresco under garden lights to the absolute best food in the area, lovingly prepared by the talented Jan. I look forward to staying here every time I'm in the area!

This is a good 3 star hotel as far as the rooms are concerned. The staff is a higher level--very accommodating, very helpful, very welcoming. The breakfast was good--even made us french toast and pancakes! We did the semi-pension and it was good value. They have good cocktails and lovely setting to enjoy them in a garden. Overall good value and enjoyed our stay.

A very special hotel and restaurant. Everything is accomplished with style - home made confitures, gold painted fireplace in breakfast room, shaded dining area with closing roof, tree sculpture in garden. Food was superb. The trilogies of foie gras could have come from their Michelin star neighbour which charges €185 for their tasting menu!!! Everything exceeds expectations and then the bill is very modest. A rare combination. I recommend it without any reservoir hesitation. Perfect!

I have never felt so well looked after at any hotel. We were both nurtured and cared for, every need was anticipated and provided for. The hotel is immaculately clean, the pool is refreshing and lovely. Jan is a very talented chef on the food is absolutely superb. There really is nothing not to like about this place. This is a truly wonderful place to stay.

The owners were so nice. Helpful and English speaking. It was a beautiful town and the hotel was perfect. Food and service to notch. A good place to set up base to see surrounding areas which were beautiful. We couldn’t have had a better experience.

In a spur of the moment decision, we stopped at this cosy hotel because of the beautiful facade and luscious green plants. Stayed for a delicious iced drink and had a lovely chat with the owners. Wish we had one more week of vacation; we would have booked a room on the spot.
