7 Cities and Towns for Discovering the Real South of France

"Hôtel Le Garage is a former garage transformed into a stylish boutique hotel. The 27 rooms and suites have vintage touches, like geometric wallpaper, midcentury furniture, and stainless steel soaking tubs, with warm woods and terrazzo accents—'neo-retro,' as they call it."

Le Garage Biarritz (Biarritz, Nouvelle Aquitaine) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"A former garage for vintage cars might not sound like a beachside escape, until you see Le Garage. Originally built in the 1930s as a private garage for the neighboring Hôtel du Régina’s high-end guests, the building was later abandoned, then briefly taken over by street artists in 2018. Today, it is a striking 27-room boutique hotel just above Marimar Beach. Industrial bones remain, but the vibe is bold and bright: terrazzo floors, Art Deco curves, handwoven Ghanian lights. There is a garden pool where the gas pump once stood, and a low-key, surf-friendly pulse that feels perfectly Biarritz." - Tablet Hotels

Beautiful hotel, interior design, amenities, bed comfort, spaciousness and shower facilities. We visited in November, we were given a room upgrade which was much appreciated. Breakfast is delicious and served in such a beautiful location. The staff are extremely polite and helpful and all speak impeccable English. We arrived late afternoon and brought some food with us as we knew their restaurant will be closed so they kindly heated it up for us and served it in our room. It was a memorable experience and I will definitely recommend you and hope you visit again soon.

Loved this hotel. It’s new and well designed. Rooms are spacious. Staff are extraordinarily helpful. Food is good and they cater with excellent choices to both wine and alcohol lovers as well as zero fans. Location is excellent - close to the beach and to all the cool spots. Whether you’re pursuing a surf vacation or a Michelin experience or both it’s perfect.

We would like to thank the staff of the hotel for making our stay in Biarritz truly memorable. We were a party of nine staying over four nights and well before we arrived, the hotel provided valuable assistance in making recommendations for restaurants and then making reservations. Upon our arrival, rooms were ready, clean and very comfortable. During our stay, we appreciated the suggestions for shops, bakeries, sights to enjoy and more. The restaurant served a lovely dinner on our arrival and the staff were quick and very helpful to make using our suite for family gatherings and meals easy and comfortable. Noteworthy is the friendliness and responsiveness of the entire staff to our needs. We would not hesitate to recommend Le Garage for a wonderful stay in Biarritz.|Thank you,

This is a very nice, trendy and modern hotel. I enjoyed my stay. The staff were friendly and pleasant and the room tidy and comfortable.||Quiet location near the lighthouse but only a 15/20 minute walk along the seafront into the centre of town.||Only negative is how dark the room was even with lights on. I think that’s probably the vibe but not really my cup of tea.

Perfect experience in September, and probably in every season. Great rooms, modern concept, courageous architecture. Many rooms include a small backyard area, the staff were super supportive and kind. The kind of hip vibe that has great appeal, as well.

Loved La Garage! We had a beautiful room upstairs with a huge balcony and sunset view of the ocean. What a surprise! Breakfast was great with nice variety and very cool decor in the dining room. We used the Regina pool one day which is better than the pool at the Garage. It’s s great luxury to sit poolside at Regina but go back to Garage for a fun vibe and amazing room! And guests at Garage can use it for free. Staff were nice and helpful.

This review is based on the dinning experience and not in the hotel stay, but with such a lack of professionalism from the food and beverage part, I am certainly not consider a place to stay. Customer service would be 0 out of 5. It is alarming to me to have places like this to be as rated 4 stars.|Kitchen it was 8 of us. Order probably half of the menus, including couple of special. No highlight nor anything that standout. But croque monsieur basque sent as toasted bread with a slice of cheese and ham so dried that it felt like biting in a crouton sandwich. Four items were never delivered to our table. Ordered entrees when arrived to table to deliver few dishes were missing, response to the young manager/ supervisor- the kitchen run out?!?!|We were two family both French my friend living locally - him was invited back for a complementary my family lives overseas nothing. We paid. This is how the evening ended the same way as we paid and leave.
