Hotel Le Golf D'Essaouira & Spa

I recently visited this club, and I have to say, it was a huge letdown. The atmosphere was lifeless, and the service was incredibly poor. It felt more like a prison than a place to enjoy a night out. Every time we tried to relax, a bodyguard would come over to tell us what we couldn’t do—“don’t stand here, don’t sit there, don’t go up”—it was ridiculous. The entrance fee of €20 is steep, especially since only men pay while women get in for free. The dance floor was overcrowded with bodyguards, making it hard to enjoy ourselves. After dancing for a while, we wanted to take a short break, but were told we couldn’t sit unless we bought a bottle. Even delivering a cigarette upstairs was met with resistance from another bodyguard. We spent a lot of money, but the experience did not live up to our expectations. We were hoping for fun and good music, but instead, we were met with restrictions and an unwelcoming environment. The only positive thing I can say is that the bar was clean, but that hardly matters when the service is so terrible. I would not recommend this place if you're looking for a good night out.

We had a wonderful stay in this place where rented a villa, which as lovely and beautiful. The service is good, although bars and restaurants (and breakfast) do not have many waiters, so you might need to wait a bit The pool is amazing, with a constant breeze from the beach and amazing views, specially of the sunset. Bars and restaurants are almost independent,.so you need to be aware of opening hours and service scope. The place is super close to the city center, so you can easily go to the Medina and back, or even to Essaouira's beach. It was clearly under renovations, so I expect things to keep improving

I stayed during the Moga festival for 3 nights. While initially reluctant to book a room in the hotel given Sofitel's previous reputation, I decided to take a leap of faith and see what the Golf acquisition brought to the plate. I came to regret my decision very quickly, however. A 5 start hotel by name and amenities, a 3 star hotel by floor and elevator regards, and a motel by security personnel standpoints. From the moment we arrived to the gate, my friend and I got weirded out by the behavior of a security personnel at the gate where he was mocking his name from "Amine" to "Amina" with a big grin on his face. While I will always be one for light banter and jokes, an alleged 5 start hotel security guard who makes this joke, especially after a 6h drive, is not welcome. This very same guard, during the last festival day and after being admitted through the gate by another security person grabbed me violently by the sleeve as if I were trespassing. Instead of apologizing, he wrongly doubled down on his behavior, and only after his boss came that I received some apology that was far too little and far too late. The breakfast buffet is one that ends its service at noon. Never have I seen a buffet, in a 5 start hotel, get picked up from the trays at exactly 12:00, however. I tried getting some O.J from the fountain after noon, only for a personnel person to shout to his colleague in darija to pick that O.J from the table ASAP, thinking I wouldn't understand him. My friend and I had stood up from the table for less than 3min to get said juices, leaving full coffees on the table and plates full of food + sunglasses and cigarettes (this clearly displays a table which wasn't ready to be cleaned) only to get back to servers having cleaned out half of our tables. The wifi in this resort, where signal and data are extremely low, is ridiculously slow and hard to receive. The spa is another joke where I booked an overpriced massage just for the lady at the desk to tell me she admitted someone else she thought was me It is extremely unfortunate that such an allegedly prestigious resort provides that poor of a service. If you can, I suggest you look elsewhere

I went to Sofitel Essaouira today to have a coffee and relax a bit, but honestly, I was really disappointed. The service was poor, and the coffee was far below expectations for a place with such a reputation. Hopefully, they’ll improve the quality because the location is beautiful, but the experience didn’t match the name.

One of the most boring places I've been. We went to do party there with some friends. I didn't like the mood. The music wasn't good at all. It felt like an outdated club without taste with so little choices of drinks. You expect to drink cocktails but there is only basic stuff. Also you have to pay to sit. Unfortunately the places isn't worth paying anything. Far from Essaouira. I don't recommend

We came in with a WOW for the hotel architecture. But very soon we are very disappointed about the service and utilities there as a 5 star hotel. - It was around 1:30-2:30pm and we wanted to order some lunch in the hotel but seems like the hotel not open the restaurant at that time. - We wanted to chill by the pool with cocktails and snacks but we had to come up to the restaurant to order. Which takes us a long time to order like 30 minutes because their machine was broken. After ordering we wanted to come down to the pool and chill ( as our vacation time is limited so we want to make the best out of it to enjoy the pool) but they made signal to ask us to come up to eat upstairs. So we had to come upstairs again. Then after we ate we came downstairs again for the pool. After my cocktail, i brought up my cocktail to the bar. While other hotels and resorts we stayed, also had someone around the pool to take orders. The kitchen open like almost all day for guests at the hotel ( I think it’s where you can generate more revenue). But here was very disappointed. Our room is very spacious but we found a cockroach in the room. I wish I had more good impression with the hospitality service in Morocco.

It’s not our first time as a family in this Hotel, back then was Sofitel, we booked again even we remarked the names difference.m, but honestly nothings has changed! Same level! Same hospitality! Same high services! I am really impressed.|When You first arrive at the hotel there is an agent with traditional moroccan clothes, he welcomes you with the real moroccan tradition Moroccan Mint Tea and moroccan sweets.|Then they help you with your luggage until you arrive comfortably to your room. |You found a sweet welcome present (moroccan sweets again) and all what u need is already there! |The diversity in Breakfast is impressive! Bakery, moroccan bakery, different and delicious Juices! |There is a woman she takes care of Omelette omg!! It’s sooo delicious she really nailed it!|The hotel is super Clean, everywhere is clean and well maintained! |The room service like a Fairy 🧚🏻‍♀️ Super, Quick and clean.|The pools are well maintained and clean, every evening and morning i see the staff taking care of them. And when u first arrive there, an agent comes and brings u towels and asks you if u need a Parasol and if you do he makes it right for u the way you want it.|Two Pools are available for the customers.|The view from the room is really wonderful. You see both of swimming pools and the beach! |The room service is super fast, i called because i needed extra shower gel and they were right in time.|Finally, i’ll leave this part for a wonderful agent. She was super friendly super professional with really positive energy, her name is Nadia, she is really nice every morning she came to our table and welcomed us and said “Good morning” and asked if we need anything. She was really professional and when she knew that its not our first time in the Hotel she insisted about the quality which we confirmed is the same nothing has changed. ||*The agents are super friendly, they really take care of the customers, they ask if You need anything.|*The pools are clean and well maintained.|*Diversity of the Breakfast Buffet is impressive.|*The agents are really polite.|*The rooms are clean.|*Different and so many places in the Hotel to sit and enjoy the view or the interior decorations.|*The Wi-Fi is good and fast, wherever You are in the Hotel. ||Thank You Again for making a wonderful vacation for of all of my family.

Great place to spend holidays. Best food including booth continental as like local cuisine. Stuff is always helpful, services works 24H, very clean hotel with good smells. Soft pillows, good bed and matrices. Room is clean each day with refilling water or coffee. Wonderfull wives prob. one of the best in Essouira. Hotel is bit old and it has lots of signs from usage but still its clean and well prepared for guests as well don't expect Ritz in Africa.
