We chose this hotel for Versailles, and it's located didn't disappoint. I didn't realise that it was Tour de France weekend and around the hotel would be closed off, but that didn't really impact. What did truly spoil our stay was the fact that the sponsor of the race were in, taking up every ounce of public space (so we couldn't access terraces all through the stay, breakfast room seating, majority of bar seating etc). We had a meal there first night, but as sponsor and coach tours were in and therefore took preferenceof any other guest, our starters stayed on the side for 25 min... our mains when arrived 45min after were cold. We walked away that night and ate elsewhere in Versailles. Next evening the Bar area roped off (again, no outside areas), we felt second class citizens still paying the full price. Zero service, especially during breakfasts when staff were only bothered with the sponsors (again). Breakfast pastries ran out by 9.30 on Sunday, not refreshed. I wouldn't expect this from any 4star anywhere in the world.
The room was fine, bit small for 3 of us, the put up bed placed directly to crash into low chandelier.
Oh, and a highlight (jokes) was seeing the mice running around the bar area during the evening with people still around!
The ONLY saving grace was Oliver the bar man. All other staff just didn't really care, even when a) told them about the mice and b) complained about the meal/ service.
