"With two nights in Colmar, treat yourself to a stay at luxurious Hotel le Maréchal. The building itself was constructed in 1565, but the romantic vibes persist to today. Pro tip: when booking, request a room with a canal view."

We stayed in the “Wagner” room and we like it very much. The room was spacious and had a lovely view over the canal.Yes, the hotel is old(but full of charm) and there is no lift, however, we did not mind the stairs and we find it really clean. The breakfast was in a very nice veranda, not a very big variety of things, but enough.Coffee and croissants were good, they even offer the local sparkling wine. What we did not like was that some noise was coming from the room upstairs, like opening drawers and walking, also the main door was a little hard to close and open(because of the carpet, i guess, and that made the handle a little flimsy). Also the lady at the reception could be a little more warm/smiley/friendly?she was very dry.

Charming hotel in a great location, lovingly updated, Earlier reports of a brusque check in by Julie at the desk also experienced by us. Yes, request a canal view, but don’t expect to get one unless you meet whatever subjective criteria she sets. Only hotel in many years of travel where I was asked to show both of our passports. ||The room was nice, bed was comfortable. Very large jacuzzi tub in the bathroom, deep enough that a shorter person may have trouble climbing in, even with a lit tub step-in, that may have been added after the fact. Careful not to stub your toe or trip on it, as it intrudes into the sink area. Very nice bathroom soaps and lotion. Nice and several in room coffee options.||Printer at guest computer is out of reach and not functioning. Front desk didn’t seem to even know there was a guest printer.||There is a bar area in front of the entrance to the hotel, along the side. Room information sait it was open straight through. It was not.||Breakfast area quite lovely. Natalia was delightful in every way., and does a very nice job, seemingly all by herself, attending to the guests and the presentation of the very nice breakfast buffet.

It is full of history and the hotel is an art. Old mansion style hotel that the breakfast is a must where you can expect fine dining environment. Highly recommended but do not carry heavy luggage or oversize luggage due to narrow staircase between room or a very small elevator while to expect to walk stairs one after another to reach your room. But the strategic location and scenery is super amazing and walking distance to railway station approx less than 700m and easily access to a few sight seeing villages by grab from the hotel. Recommended that Colmar and this hotel is an antic to visit.

We really enjoyed our stay here even though it was cold and rainy. Loan (front desk concierge) was super knowledgable and helpful. Great customer service! The restaurant is a must try. We were immediately seated once we arrived and the food/service was fantastic. The location is perfectly placed. It’s easily walkable to everything in Petite Venice. The bar is great. Great cocktails, atmosphere and customer service.

An historical hotel ideally located on the river, at the entry to Old Colmar. We booked a very small room with beams and exterior space, beautifully adorned in the French style fabrics & decor. We were very comfortable, despite the limited size of the room. |Built in 1565, this delightful hotel provides vintage, storybook charm and architecture.|We dined in their fine restaurant which faces the river and provides views of surrounding Old World buildings and the nearby bridge. Service and our meal were exceptional. |Opt for the morning breakfast. Grab a table with a river view; you won’t leave hungry.

Trust the bad reviews!!! The room smelled horribly of mold and I fear it to be a potential trigger for respiratory issues. The staff was unwilling to do anything and told us if we want to leave we can. We took them up on their offer and left. We found a last minute Airbnb at 8PM right around the corner that was of far higher quality and more accommodating staff all for 100 euros cheaper. The male front desk clerk was very nice and sympathetic but the hotel managements unwillingness to accommodate anything was offputting and not worthy of a 4 star hotel. I would not visit here again.

I don’t usually write bad reviews, but I had to write about this hotel. I don’t understand how it’s given a 4 star rating. It’s a very old hotel that needs remodeling. The room was old, but the bathroom was remodeled. The shower didn’t have a door, which caused the water to splash all over the wooden floor. The twin beds are very tiny, and I was worried about bed bugs. It’s very expensive ( about $300 per night) for what you are getting. The staff were friendly, and the location is great.

This is for Le Baron Bar and Cocktails. I am constantly looking for the best old fashioned, I just found number 1 in a small town in France. If you enjoy this spectacular drink I encourage you to try what they offer, Fantastic. I have had them in 15 countries and this one beat them all. ENJOY!!!

Yelp
Our room was comfortable, the staff friendly, and the location great. But we were disappointed that our room, one of the more expensive options available, did not have a view. And it was a VERY long walk up many flights of stairs to get to our room. We picked one of the more expensive rooms - a room with a jacuzzi - and it did not have a view. You could see a parking lot out a window, but that is not a view. The hotel does not advertise this room, if you look at our type of room on the website, you won't see it. And we were under the impression that we had booked a room with a view. Overall, that was very frustrating. Not as big of a deal, but carrying all our suitcases up the very long and windy passageway to get to our room sucked. It was a total of about four stairwells, and some of them were pretty long. When the receptionist offered to help said there are stairs, they did not clarify what "there are stairs" meant. "There are stairs" was a huge understatement. These issues were not the biggest deal in the world, because the room was very well decorated and pleasant to stay in. In other words, while I do not consider these issues really acceptable, I still enjoyed my stay here very much. And the jacuzzi was very nice. But I probably would not stay here again. Great location, and I'm sure some of the rooms have amazing views, but there are a lot of other great looking hotels in Colmar - I do not feel as though I need to come back to this one.

Yelp
Beautiful views out of our quaint room. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Perfect, central location.

Yelp
Lame, small, nothing happens as you hope it wil, and although we were in their biggest suite, there was never enough room for me to move around, except at the foot of the bed. I have been waiting nearly 30 minutes trying to check out. They brought down our luggage, but only half of it,and our luggage has perishables in it that need refrigeration. Some staff are quite good but the bad ones take it down a bigger notch than the good ones bring it up. It was awful noisy from road repairs nearby. A mechanized jackhammer tearing out stone pavement. Conveniently located to places we wanted to go, but the ancient edifice just cannot offer what a reasonable 21st century traveler requires. Lugging our luggage from the taxi to the entrance on arrival and in reverse on departure was ONEROUS. Not recommended.

Yelp
Wow, this is very likely the best hotel my husband and I have ever stayed at. This is an historic hotel with beautiful half-timbered features on the inside and outside of the building, yet the inside has been remodeled recently with completely modern features (and AC!). We checked in early and the staff was very accommodating, helpful, and friendly. The room was perfect with high-end amenities and comfortable bed. The location of the hotel is also perfect, as it is right in the center of everything yet set aside enough that we don't hear constant traffic or pedestrians. Finally, the breakfast-- get the breakfast. There was such a huge variety of delicious European foods (much of it local), that I wish I had the appetite to eat a sample of everything. We are so happy with our stay here and hope to come back again!

Yelp
Excellent dinner. All the food was very delicious, great presentation with excellent service. The one review I saw with one star obviously comes from a complete idiot.
