Hotel Le Maxime, BW Signature Collection, Auxerre

Excellent location overlooking the river in Auxerres, short walk to the main parts of this town with its interesting history. Small car park off-road, so book in advance if you need it. (Plenty of street parking for a fee). Newly redecorated room was nice. Breakfast excellent, good choice.

Excellent location just at the bank of River Yonne and very close to the old town and the bridges where you can take some of the most scenic photos. The slight disappointment was that the car park was full. So we have to park at the parking meter opposite the hotel.

We were disappointed. The hotel is fairly modern and right across the street from the river. The river view from our room was very nice. The front desk staff are very friendly and helpful. The room on the other hand... The thermostat was broken, missing button to set the temperature, and "repaired" with tape. While the lighting was good at the head of the bed, there remaining half of the room was in darkness as there was no overhead light. The first morning the shower had no hot water but the sink was fine. After we complained, the second morning the shower was fine. However the third morning we again had no hot water in the shower. The buffet breakfast was mediocre with weak coffee so we later went to a wonderful local bakery instead.

Very disappointing, one arrival the lift was not working, and my wife had to struggle with the stairs with her arthritis. car park +13.50, no restaurant and a lot of the items for room service where not available. when food did arrive it was cold and overpriced and portions where tiny. Breakfast was 18.50 each and not worth it at all, the hot food had obviously been prepared at 7am and left to stew in its Bain Marie until we went down at 9.30, poor choice of food and what was there was old and uninviting. Bedroom was nice but neither the bathroom or toilet were heated so was very unpleasant to use. would not stay again.

Was there on 16 Nov and left on 17 Nov, I left a ring in the room when check out. I remember clearly that it is on the table, right next to the coffee machine. However, called to the hotel in 2 hours, they said not able to find it at all. Since the room is auto locked, and I believe only the cleaner went to the room after us. Highly suspicious of the stolen behaviour. Even though the hotel claimed that the cleaner worked in hotel for a long time but that doesn’t mean they did not steal the ring. Anyways, hope to make others be aware of it. I also reported to the police station. Please take my unfortunate incident as warning, be careful when staying in the hotel and please hide your belongings from the cleaner. Thanks! Also the quality of the room is below average : 1. The water pressure is low. 2. The tables - one near the window and one on top of the fridge are very old and looks fragile. 3. Heater not working well so the room temperature was so cold. If you have better options around that neighbourhood, go for it. If not, just be careful and low expectation. Thanks!

Ideal location right on the river . Off street parking. Great service. Nice breakfast. Highly recommended.

Great location and amazing staff but not sure this is a Signature Collection. Room was small, parking was not ideal and public space was limited. We had an upgraded room but no bathrobes or slippers. We did have a coffee machine but the pods didn't mention if they were decaff so we didn't use it. Several restaurants close by which was a plus.

Fantastic location, excellent customer service check in , so/so on check out (she did not seem too interested) Parking good ( paid extra for it) Breakfast Ok ( paid extra , but would not do it again), Bed comfortable, Room Clean, Linens/towels soft. It was unusually hot weather so we wanted the central air on. It did not work Few at front of building was wonderful, but loud all night with people talking on the street which was weird because there was no restaurants or bars open. Car drove past all night long too. We would stay again and just fell in love with Auxerre.
