😊: Lovely traditional pretty French hotel in superb location in Les Eyzies, a busy touristy village with loads to see and do, but the hotel is set back in a quiet shady corner with the River Beune flowing through the hotel garden. Our room was clean and comfortable, and overlooked the river and garden - it was a very quiet and relaxing place to stay, and was air-conditioned (extremely welcome during the heatwave, up to 40 degrees during our stay). We really enjoyed sitting by the river in the cool shade of the trees. Breakfast was served in the adjacent building, the water mill, previously a restaurant - we loved having breakfast outside on the terrace overlooking the river. The staff were courteous and attentive, including a very prompt response to getting our air-conditioning working again. We didn't have a car during our holiday but the hotel is really well located for public transport - the train station at the top end of the village and the bus stop in the PIP carpark very nearby (we made full use of the excellent local bus services 337 and 339 that run a summer service to Sarlat and Lascaux, including stops to key tourist sites along the way). The National Museum of Prehistory, shops, restaurants. supermarket, River Vezere and canoe hire are all within 100-150m of the hotel. We loved Vendredis Gourmands, the popular weekly evening market in Les Eyzies, full of fabulous food stalls, top-quality take-away!.
😢: The choice at breakfast was a bit limited - for a 12-night stay we would have liked more choice and variety. Communication with hotel guests could have been better, for example where to recycle and what time the bar is open..
