Hotel Le Palais Gallien

The staff at this hotel are incredibly friendly and went out of their way to decorate our room for our anniversary—such a thoughtful touch! The hotel’s interior and décor are beautiful, clean, and very modern—definitely worthy of 5 stars. While the rooms aren’t completely soundproof (a common issue in many European hotels), we occasionally heard some footsteps from upstairs and, one night, guests talking in the corridor around 3–4 AM for almost an hour. Of course, this isn’t the hotel’s fault—some guests are simply not considerate—but the staff did their utmost to address it and politely asked them to keep their voices down. I also appreciate the 24-hour service in the hotel that you can call them anytime. The hotel is located on a quiet street, yet just a 10–15 minute walk to the shopping area, making it very convenient. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Bordeaux! Definitely will stay here again for our next trip!

Here we’re talking about one of the best three hotels in Bordeaux looks like a small palace. We’re only 20 rooms one of the things that it’s different in this hotel is that the rooms don’t have a number, my room, for example, was Cervantes and all the rooms have names of legendary people, bathroom Ex Ex extraordinary the bath extremely nice walking distance to the center 10 minutes, I also suggest the food in the in the hotel and the service and the manager Vladimir are extraordinary

We stayed at Le Palais Gallien over New Year’s Eve 2025 and left with very mixed feelings. Although the hotel presents itself as a 5-star property, it does not live up to a true 5-star standard. The public areas look rather worn and tired: there were scooters parked in the restaurant, and many of the carpentry elements are made of plastic wood, which now appears almost shabby. In contrast, the staff are very committed and friendly, trying with personal dedication to compensate for the many shortcomings of the hotel. Our room was spacious and elegantly furnished, just as shown in the photos, but despite its size it only had a very small wardrobe, so we had to live out of our suitcases on the floor. On the first night the room was not heated enough, and no additional heaters were available; furthermore, the room doors are not soundproofed, so loud guests returning late at night can be clearly heard. The spa was a major disappointment: the sauna door could not be closed because the inner handle was missing, the hammam was filled with construction materials, dirty dishes were left standing around, the very small indoor pool was cold, and the floor looked rather dirty. It is obvious that no one is really taking care of the spa area. On the positive side, the breakfast buffet is generous and varied, and the dinner we had in the restaurant was excellent, with beautiful rooms, very good food, and professional service that made for a great evening.

We truly enjoyed our stay at Le Palais Gallien Hotel & Spa, where the staff was wonderful, especially Romeo, who often checked in on us to see if we were enjoying our stay or needed anything. He carried a heavy bouquet and five heavy suitcases to and from our room with great care and enthusiasm. We stayed in the Montesquieu Suite, the presidential suite with its own private elevator, which was spotless, beautifully maintained, and very comfortable thanks to excellent housekeeping. It has a kitchen, private terrace, a cinema room and private sauna. The only drawbacks were that the room service menu could be improved and the steam function in the shower did not work, though the hot RGB sauna worked perfectly and any small issues, like remotes needing fresh batteries, were promptly resolved by the attentive staff. They went above and beyond in preparing for my birthday, and even though I spent much of the stay recovering from a cold, it was the perfect suite to relax and recuperate. Overall, the service, hospitality, and comfort made our stay truly memorable.

I have mixed feelings on my stay here - the hotel is elegant and well maintained. The rooms are modern (but rather dark with very little natural light) the bed was comfortable although the pillows were not great, the shower was difficult to use, it took 10 minutes to work out how to use it as a button has jammed in the shower panel, housekeeping was efficient. In terms of location it was ok - located in a quiet residential area and a bit of a trek to the tram station and a 15 minute walk into the centre of Bordeaux. Overall I think it’s overpriced at nearly €500 per night given the location, quality of bed linens & pillows and the rather dark feeling of the rooms.

We loved the hotel! The room was spacious and clean and comfortable. We upgraded to a garden terrace view. All of the staff were wonderful. Great location! Highly recommended.

Located in the heart of Bordeaux city, this beautiful boutique property is perfect for walking and exploring this UNESCO site! The authentic and thoughtful service by the staff before and during our stay was exceptional! They arranged a private tour of the Medoc and Saint Emilion, made restaurant reservations, and suggested wine bars to visit! They even provided complimentary tickets to the Cite du Vin Museum! And tile suite - on the top floor overlooking Bordeaux as beautiful. Truly a wonderful experience!

Le Palais Gallien is a wonderful boutique hotel with excellent service. It was quiet and restful but still well located with easy access to all of Bordeaux’s attractions. Highly recommended if you’re looking to feel pampered and relaxed.
