Beautiful hotel in the most amazing location. Right across from Le Bon Marché and near a ton of shops, restaurants, and the metro. Neighborhood is really cute and felt very safe. Hotel staff were great. We arrived completely soaked after walking from the metro in the pouring rain and they immediately brought us towels to dry off with and umbrellas to borrow for when we went out again. Rooms were clean, comfortable, and nicely sized. I had a terrace room, but didn’t spend much time out there since the weather wasn’t great during my stay. Still, it was a nice addition. I had a fantastic experience at Hôtel Le Placide and will absolutely stay here again next time I visit Paris.

A true gem in the heart of a beautiful neighbourhood, this hotel embodies everything that makes a stay exceptional: ideal location, comfort, cleanliness, and above all, heartfelt hospitality. Though our stay was short, it left a lasting impression and made our time in Paris unforgettable. As many reviewers have said, the staff's professionalism and warmth truly stand out. We especially want to thank Benjamin, who went above and beyond during a moment of crisis. After checking out in the morning, we returned in the evening to pick up our luggage only to find out that our Eurostar to London, along with all later departures, had been cancelled. Panic set in as we watched every possible route home disappear from the screen. Benjamin didn't hesitate. He sat with us, patiently helping us search for any remaining way home. Though we were no longer guests, he offered us seats, water, and genuine care. His kindness in that moment meant more than words can express. Benjamin, we are glad to inform you we eventually made it back safely. Thanks a million, Hotel Le Placide, Benjamin and all the staff. When we return to Paris, we’ll come straight back here.

This hotel is on a very nice neighborhood location, very close to the Grand Epicerie and Bon Marche. There are tons of shops nearby, such as the Franprix (local grocery) to get snacks, water and sundries if needed. There are also lots of cafes and restaurants nearby and metro stations literally 2-3 minutes away. The service was impeccable especially the breakfast service. If you're not around before dinner, they also will do a turn down service. Though the hotel is dated and the brown carpet probably would be better for allergy sufferers if replaced with a hard surface (hardwood, lux vinyl etc), the beds were comfortable enough. The airconditioning was good and a blessing on the hot humid days. There are generous sized wardrobes and a desk and a few chairs. It would be nicer if there was a small table to eat meals from. We stayed at the Triple suite and it was a good sized room with plenty of space for our luggage, especially for hotels in Paris. The bathroom was especially spacious and it's nice the windows can open to air the bathroom out. The shower could be better if there was a handle bar to get in and out of the tub, for safety reasons. It was difficult for me, being short, to get in and out. The supplied toiletries from Nuxe we didn't use because my husband and daughter have sensitivity to smell (causes migraines). They were very heavily perfumed like pomade. Nevertheless, the Franprix and nearby Pharmacies (several nearby) provided us some organic toiletries and we used those instead. The staff is very kind and often asked if we needed anything. Since it was rainy, the hotel supplied large umbrellas for the guests to use. In all, we would definitely stay here again given the chance. Tip: book directly with the hotel than using a site like Expedia or Booking etc. Not only are the rates way better, they have specials that include the breakfast buffet and also the option to hire a car for airport pickup and drop off. This was super convenient and it was very reasonable.

Got fleeced for Laundry Services. Took 3 days. We asked for wash but received pressed, folded, and highly packaged laundry. Huge environmental waste and a 250eu bill for what the previous hotel charged us 35eu. The desk clerk was surprised but only cut 45eu off the bill while pointing to a price list that was shown to us as a cab was pulling up to pick us up. The clerked filled out the french form (for us - thanks a lot). ||They had 2 days to warn us it was 5eu for a pair of socks -as an example - !!!!

Got fleeced for Laundry Services. We asked for wash but received pressed, folded, and highly packaged laundry. Huge environmental waste and a 250eu bill for what the previous hotel charged us 35eu. As we were dropping a bag of laundry at the front desk on our way out the door we were presented with a detailed form with French (or possibly just the laundry service's} names for items that were not easily correlated to common US item names. The desk clerk was surprised the form was not in our room and accommodated our haste to depart by having us make a list on the blank back of the form so he could translate them for us. We were in a hurry so we trusted him and wrongfully assumed the Paris price would be slightly more than what we paid at a well appointed German Hotel. We were told the laundry would be done in 24hrs. It wound up taking 3 days and we received our items just before checking out. The Clerk was as shocked as we were at the cost and that the laundry service has clearly applied the most expensive services and packaging - unnecessarily. Why would T-shirts, underwear, socks be pressed? They had 2 extra days to warn us of what was clearly a huge bill. It was 5eu for a pair of socks -as an example - !!!! Bottom line is that we trusted them and they/their service provider took advantage of their guests. They should have gone back to their vendor to at least cut the bill in half but instead just wanted to lay blame on us. Yes it was our mistake to trust them and provide a service at a cost comparable to other hotels. They did cut the bill by 45eu and maintained their relationship with an outrageously priced vendor and got this review. I've re-written this review after the hotel shamefully accused me of lying.

This is a small boutique hotel with a big heart! |I was at first worried when I saw the lobby and the small front desk and elevator. But the room was big, the bathroom was spacious and clean and the bed and pillows were excellent. And their service was outstanding. |Sunastha (I hope I got his name right) took care of us during breakfast. He recommended restaurants and even offered to prepare some croissants for us to bring to an early day trip. |The receptionist during our check out warned us to pay the taxi driver only based on the meter. Should the driver cheat us, he suggested we email the hotel and they will reimburse us. |I have stayed in many hotels and I must say this is one of the best. ||The location was perfect! Close to shopping and restaurants and even walking distance to Montparnasse station for train transfers.||I was able to talk to some guests too and they said this is their go-to hotel in Paris. ||Merci beaucoup, Hotel Le Placide! |See you next time.

We had a nice stay at this hotel beginning of March. The location to Le Bon Marché and metro station are great. The metro station gives easy access to the main tourist sites. There’s HANDO handroll sushi restaurant and La Barra wine bar around the corner which I would highly recommend visiting. Our hotel room was spacious (junior suite) and clean. The bathroom was also spacious but there was not enough space to hang towels. The biggest let down was the breakfast. The set up is a bit strange and feels very cramped. There’s eggs available (fried, scrambled) but we read that in another review, our server never mentioned them to us. We asked for the eggs but I think our server was a bit annoyed at us for asking. I think the 22e/person is an excessive price for breakfast. There’s 2 rooms per floor and we heard our neighbors talking loudly (walls are thin). There’s some street noise (ambulance wailing etc) but it didn’t bother us much. We stayed for 6 nights. The concierge was always friendly.

Stayed at Hotel Le Placide for 5 nights recently and the staff was very accommodating throughout our stay the entire time. Great location near Grande Epicerie and Le Bon Marche and the metro station a minute walk away from the hotel.

Yelp
The hotel was great--really cute and cozy. The staff was also amazing. Specifically Benjamin the concierge. He was truly incredible. From the moment we arrived at the hotel, he was constantly making sure we were taking care of. He gave us the best recommendations--our favorites from our stay--and spent time when we were away to make extensive lists, recommendations, and directions for us. He is the definition of amazing customer service. No questions went unanswered with him. He truly went above and beyond. Sasanta, one of the other staff members was also great. They're all super friendly and personable. We loved our stay here, and the Latin Quarter is a great location!
