Great place to stay, organized in such a thoughtful way, up to the smallest details: the room has everything you need, and the complementary fruit and snacks are a very nice touch. The building and the room were also beautiful and had nice furniture. Also the location is perfect, whether you want to eat out, walk anywhere or use a metro. Great value for money, will definitely come back!

Not a full service hotel in the traditional sense, yet we never felt neglected. Located on the first floor and in the back, our room (103) was quiet and immaculate, and the decor was lovely. Housekeeping is available on request by hanging a sign on your door requesting it. Access to the hotel and our room was done by keycode. There is no front desk service although a phone number is given should a situation arise. There are over a dozen restaurants and bars within a few feet of the hotel making it easy to find a place to eat/drink after a long day out. There is a small breakfast and snack bar on the second floor. I highly recommend this hotel for both ambiance and location. The only drawback is no elevator and narrow stairs which could be a problem for some.

I loved this place. I booked last-minute because I'd been having trouble sleeping at another hotel and really needed a good night's sleep. The room was lovely, very quiet, and actually dark at night (though v well lit during the day). The staff was also super accommodating. This hotel is at the top of my list for coming back to Montreal!

DO NOT STAY HERE! This place scammed me big time!|I have been here for two nights and what the ad does not tell you is it backs onto a Mexican Restaurant, which BLASTS music into your room from 11am until 11pm. I spent $900 for a quiet place to work for the week and It was a complete waste. This is on top of them doing a two hour fire drill at 9am on a Monday morning without someone contacting me directly to notify me (or anyone).|I will never stay here again and you should not either.

We stayed for 4 nights in August. This boutique hotel is old but well maintained. Our suite was a decent size and well equipped(fridge, coffee maker, kettle, etc). Housekeeping came daily without having to request….Worth mentioning since Covid. ||We didn’t see the owner much as has been mentioned in other reviews. That was not an issue as we didn’t need any help with our plans while we were there. ||We received a voucher for coffee and a croissant each morning a couple of doors down…. Nice way to start the day. The stairs (both exterior and interior) took a bit of getting used to but once we did them a couple of times… no issues. ||The location is excellent - especially if you’re travelling without a car. There was lots of activity in the area. It was a bit noisy one night but generally not a problem and it was great to have so many dining options close as well as a convenience store. The subway station with service from 3 of 4 lines was super close and easy to use. It was only about a 15 minute walk to old Montreal. We often saw police or security and felt safe in the area. ||One drawback was that I had booked and paid extra for a room for 3 people. We had a comfortable queen bed, but the other “bed” for our adult son was a fold out chair which was very low to the floor. It was adequate for a slender young person so he made out ok, but it would not be a good fit for someone less mobile or larger. ||It was a very very busy weekend in Montreal when we were there so every hotel was expensive. We were happy with our accommodations. It was a good choice for the price paid. I would definitely consider it if you’re going to Montreal!

Google
The service here is excellent and made an ordinary stay an exceptional one. They were so kind in allowing me flexibility with checkout and the option to leave my bags in the room and food in the fridge well past 1pm due to the room being unoccupied the following night. I found the room to be comfortable, with water, little chocolates and coffee/tea. It had everything I needed to sleep and work and was so conveniently located - just 3 minutes from the 747 bus to the airport. Would definitely stay here again.

Recently had a short stay in Montreal. I wanted someplace within walking distance of the bus station. I was coming in late from out of town. This place fit the bill. Very close to where I needed to be and a very comfortable room. It is in the Latin Quarter and the music outside was loud but ended around 11:00 PM. Everything about the room was nice, the staff, Lola was super helpful and we're looking forward to being able to return and stay just a little bit longer.

Spent three nights and really loved staying here. Very spacious room with warm, cozy decor and gleaming hardwood. Felt like my own little bachelor pad in this characterful building. Location is fantastic - right on a vibrant street with lots of activity, pubs and so many really great restaurant options. The solid windows and blinds really kept it nice and quiet for sleeping. Will def stay here again!!

Yelp
100+ year-old building with a small number of rooms in an active, vibrant section of Montreal. I had a top floor large suite with a bedroom, bathroom, sitting room, and back terrace. Very clean, and quiet after the dinner hour. The host was very friendly; interested in my well-being and what I planned to do in Montreal. Rooms were cleaned every day in the early afternoon.

Yelp
Don't judge a book by its cover? The outside doesn't look like much, nor the lobby, and neither does the neighborhood. But the rooms are big, clean, modern, and with a bathroom that is equal. Coffee machine, Mini-Fridge, chocolates, nice toiletries, and a rather small LCD TV, but we didn't come to Montreal to watch Canadian TV. The youthful street is packed full of bars, restaurants, breweries, and a strip club. The metro station is just 1 block away. But the best part? Every morning a lovely continental breakfast is delivered to your door! A basket filled with pastries and juices; a different variety each day. The hotel always ordered more than necessary, so always placed the leftover pastries out for anyone to take. Late night snack? $189/night isn't cheap, but in American dollars thats about $150/night, which is reasonable for the quality of room and service, anywhere.

Yelp
Great location, reasonable prices, and very clean! Staff was very helpful and let us check-in early as well as store our bags while we explored the City some more after checking out. I would definitely stay here if I come back to Montreal.

Yelp
I have stayed here numerous times and there is a reason I keep returning: Albert has become a friend and treats us like Family. From my first visit to Montreal until my last one which ended a week ago I've always stayed at Hotel Le Relais Lyonnais. It is within walking distance to many cultural events and the metro. Albert always has suggestions for local events and I have never been disappointed- he is an ambassador to the city of Montreal and the Latin Quarter District Tourists. The suites are very clean and spacious. I recommend 302. Housekeeping is very kind and efficient. The staff in the restaurant is outgoing, warm, and superb. The food in the restaurant is very delicious and gives you a taste of the French sidewalk dining experience when you dine on the patio. Please patronize the cafe! You will enjoy the meals, chocolates, and baked goods! The one year there was a small mishap with a reservation- by one night, which happens, and can happen to any hotel. Albert was on his night off away from the business and he and his wife came to greet us, explained the issue personally on their "date night" and worked super hard to find us a place to stay that night when the entire town was booked for a convention. They were relentlessly working and found us a place, drove us there, got us to our room, and the next day got us to our "real" hotel room at Hotel Le Relais Lyonnais :-). I only share this to show how much Albert cares about his customers and relationships. He truly values customers and I think you will not be disappointed at the Hotel Le Relais Lyonnais. Tell him Jay from Pennsylvania sent you! This is my Montreal "Home".

Yelp
* Nice 7 room hotel * When in Montreal during big festivals like the jazz festival it apparently is hard to find a room, and thankfully I turned up what sounded like a decent small hotel that still had availability. I was a bit worried about the location as it is in the heart of the Latin Quarter, which is not a part of town I usually spend a lot of time in, and barring the "interesting" characters when coming back to the hotel late at night, the location was quite convenient with easy access to multiple metro lines and numerous BIXI stations within a 3 minute walk. The room was also surprisingly quiet - which was a really big shock considering the commotion on St. Denis at night. The hotel itself is a conversion of an old apartment building, and the owners did a really nice job with the conversion. You enter up the external stairs into a small lobby with the friendly owner greeting you. He explained how the included breakfast (which was a bonus surprise) is available at the cafe he operates downstairs (separate entrance), which turned out to be a lovely morning treat each day: http://www.yelp.ca/biz/la-brioche-lyonnaise-montreal#hrid:9PHK41n7SHfgqxuZqSmPjA My room had nice hardwood floors, a brick accent wall, and a view over a quiet peaceful courtyard (which was part of the cafe). There was complimentary wifi that had a nice strong and fast connection. The washroom had a walk-in shower which was nicely tiled instead of those corporate plastic shower stall/tubs you frequently get at the larger business hotels. The Nespresso coffee maker in the room was regularly replenished with different selections of coffee pods each day, along with several bits of 72% bitter Swiss chocolate - nice touch! I would hesitate to call this a B&B, because it does have the feel of a hotel. But the friendliness of the staff, and everyone calling you by name, did give the warmth of a B&B. Overall this was a really pleasant stay. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again, particularly if I was in town for something near this part of the city (the downtown festivals, or something at UQAM, etc.), or something for which access to convenient metro lines was necessary. Yelp doesn't seem to have the website on the profile, so here it is (until the update goes through). They have plenty of photos up: http://www.lerelaislyonnais.com

Yelp
The hotel was very nice, centrally located and the gentleman at the front desk was very helpful. Our room was spacious and well-equipped.
