The village of St. Paul de Vence sets the tone for the experience of the hotel--it's a lovely medieval village, set inside the walls of an intact perimeter. ||||Small shops--galleries, parfumeries, cafes, gelaterias, restaurants--several hotels and private apartments are tightly, but cozily, packed into what is a charming place to spend a few days. ||||The hotel itself is elegant, well-appointed, with friendly, warm staff that made our stay feel special. We greatly enjoyed the quality of the room, the special touches like complimentary drinks from the in-room fridge, and some sweets upon our arrival. The restaurant was excellent with very high quality, locally-inspired cuisine. The bathroom in our suite was super-well appointed with a large shower with rainhead, a cozy tub with wonderfully-smelling bath gel, a double sink, privacy door and towel warmer that through off some great heat.||||We stayed in the shoulder season (late October) which made for a much quieter experience than we might have had during high season; that was perfect for us as it meant we could wander the village without feeling like it was crammed or over-run. Plus, we had the close attention of the staff given the number of guests was minimal. ||||We look forward to the next time we can visit this wonderful property and stay in this charming village.
