We stayed at Hotel Le Sud just outside of Antibes in July 2025, originally booking for 4 nights, but unfortunately decided to leave early due to several disappointing aspects of our stay
To start with, the location was not as described. It’s significantly further from the beach than we expected, and the surrounding area felt a bit rough. We often passed groups of people drinking and intoxicated near the street-not a pleasant feeling when walking back to your car, especially in the evening.
Parking was another issue. It was nearly impossible to find a street spot, and while the hotel offered a discount for a nearby public car park, it was still a fair distance away and inconvenient.
The hotel itself was extremely basic. The carpet felt very cheap and worn, and there was visible dust and grime in areas like the bottom of the closet-giving the impression that cleanliness and upkeep weren’t high priorities.
Service was disappointing overall. Apart from one kind and helpful young woman at the front desk, the rest of the staff were unhelpful and at times unfriendly. When we spoke with the manager about our experience and our decision to shorten the stay, he was dismissive and rude. He refused any refund for the unused nights and showed no willingness to listen or resolve the issue professionally.
Based on our experience, we feel the online reviews may not accurately reflect the reality of this hotel. While the photo’s might make it appear stylish or charming, the actual experience was a letdown. We would not return and wouldn’t recommend it to others looking for comfort, convenience, or genuine hospitality.
