Overall the hotel is clean and fine for a one-night stay, but my experience was very disappointing. I mistakenly booked two rooms with one person each, and while I accepted paying the extra 3000 kr, I was given a room at the end of the corridor that felt sub-standard. The shower was on a timer (like a public gym) and barely dribbled water, there was no toilet roll holder, and the WiFi didn’t work at all. If you get this room, ask to be moved immediately. What made it worse is that while I paid extra, I wasn’t given the same standard of room as the others with a working shower and WiFi. Breakfast was served in another building and was very basic — just enough to fill you up. The location is nice and waking up to see horses outside the window is lovely, but the hotel really needs to refurbish its rooms properly and be honest with guests if they’re being put into a below-standard room.

Wonderful hotel near the Hekla vulcano. Spacious and clean rooms, great views, good breakfast, horses nearby and a free, outside hot tub! Very friendly staff also.

A nice quiet and peaceful place with a great host. Amazing view to Hekla and a nice "farm like" area with horses around. The rooms are very suitable for a short stay and the price is good for Iceland. Recommend.

The place is very quiet and peaceful, such an expected, with a wonderful view all around. It is a poetic and bucolic venue in front of the volcano. The room is very cosy and comfy, super clean as well and warm. But, the most important is the team on site ! They are lovely people, welcoming, helpful and kind. Fun fact (well, not that fun but still, it will be a good memory) : I had a puncture on my way out and my host and his girlfriend were very nice to me. He fixed it efficiently with a wild (but super clever) workshop in the middle of nowhere. And he saved the day ! I am forever grateful ;-)

We stopped here to get out of the weather, and what a great place. The hot tub was a great break. They also have their own thermal pool, horses and dogs and amazing views.

This hotel would be good location for northern lights watching because it located far from city and there is no any neighborhood. Breakfast is standard and room is clean and good function. There is a warm water bath tub outside at the corridor just 1 min walk from the room where is able to watch northern light at night. There is common room for watching TV, drinking coffee and relaxing with friends.

Great service! Very friendly! We were running late on the day of arrival and only got to the hotel after midnight. No problem. The restaurant has a nice view even though there were clouds and fog when we were there. The building looks modern but not cold. The style of the furniture in the rooms reminds of clean lines from some 60's furniture. We also very much enjoyed the hot spring that's on the premises!

I can’t say enough good things about this hotel! The accommodations are extremely modest (tiny room with a tiny bathroom) but that’s to be expected when traveling to this type of country. If you’re looking for a luxury hotel you’ll be hard pressed to find one in this remote region of Iceland. If you’re looking for a clean bed, great food and spectacular hospitality this is your place!||||The owner was so kind to us. He gave us bread to take when we went into the pasture to visit the horses (one of the best parts of our stay, but be aware they are very curious and will explore every inch of you with their mouths; nibbling on your hair, chewing on your boots, trying to eat your down coat etc 😂). But most importantly as soon as he heard we planned to travel the entire ring road he pulled up the weather forecasts to guide us on which direction we should travel - east or west - which ended up being the saving grace of our trip. We originally planned on heading west and he showed us the weather patterns and recommended we switch our plan. We managed to avoid all but one day of heavy rain on our ten day journey.||||There’s a hot tub outside which was amazing, especially when the northern lights peeked out! Upstairs is a cozy common area where we played cards and made friends with other guests. ||||Best of all was the dinner. The food and wine at the hotel’s restaurant was AMAZING! Do not skip the opportunity for some awesome local cuisine. Get the skyr cake!||||Would definitely recommend this place!
