On a business trip to Geneva and did a quick look up of a good Fondue place and found the NYT had done a review. So I was expecting a bit of a tourist trap, but my co-worker and I walked into a rather nice restaurant. In the middle of Old Town Geneva, it is, as the name suggest, connected with Hotel Les Armures. But, if you are in that area anyway, exploring, this place makes for a great dinner! Servers were friendly and helpful, although the one we had did not speak a lot of english, she understood my elementary French. The fondue was tasty. We got a pot of the Fondue avec Herbs, which was very good. I also got a plate of the dried meat, also very tasty. (I had fondue subsequently at a couple of other places and I enjoyed this place the most) As we neared the bottom of the fondue pot, I knew that the crusty cheese that had burned onto the bottom was 'extra' good and made a weak attempt to scrape it off. Not wanting to damage the pot, I gave up. Our waitress came by and looked at it and said, i think "that's the best part" and quickly grabbed my knife and quite vigorously scrapped the bottom, releasing the golden cheesey goodness! Pear tart for dessert and the dinner was perfect. The suit of Armor for decoration was pretty cool too!
Highly recommend!
