As a self-confessed picky French traveler with a penchant for luxury and Michelin-level service, I was almost *annoyed* by how little I could find to criticize at Hotel Les Mouettes Ajaccio. Our suite was simply gorgeous: a spacious layout with a large, private terrace that felt like my own maisonette. The view—framed by a stately pine (pin parasol) and elegant palm—offered a shaded, panoramic sweep of the sea, the kind you dream about.||The interior design was understated and elegant, with timeless furnishings that managed to feel both chic and comfortable. The air conditioning was blissfully silent (a rarity in even the best hotels), and the suite’s layout provided true separation between the sleeping and living areas, thanks to proper doors—not just a token partition. I especially appreciated the table that doubled as a functional desk for my laptop, perfect for catching up on work without sacrificing style.||Service was a standout: the team delivered what Will Guidara would call “unreasonable hospitality.” The receptionist/concierge seemed to intuitively “get us,” offering recommendations that matched our tastes perfectly. The in-house restaurant was a revelation, serving inventive, creative cuisine with top-notch service, all in a magical waterside setting.||If I must find fault (and I must, as a matter of principle): the hand-held shower head was not height adjustable. That’s it. Otherwise, Hotel Les Mouettes Ajaccio exceeded even my most demanding expectations.
