Ligaro (Jarnac, Nouvelle Aquitaine) Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Just opposite the Église St - Pierre, this 17C bourgeois town house – one of the oldest in Jarnac – has been superbly refurbished. It blends the old and contemporary, has an exclusive atmosphere and comfort. Altogether sleekly elegant and very attractive." - Tablet Hotels

I'm a fan of a good boutique hotel, and this one is a treat. It's utterly charming, a chic renovation of a historic building right in the heart of Jarnac. The new owner is a delight and knows the region intimately. ALL the rooms are winners; the owner gave us a full tour and you can't go wrong. Just know that Jarnac is quiet and like much of rural France, many of the restaurants will be closed on Monday nights; you may have to go to Cognac for dinner on a Monday but that's easy; it's only a few kms.

We booked Hotel Ligaro in an emergency after being badly let down by other accommodation. The proprietor went out of her way to help us. ||The hotel is very nicely decorated the beds are super comfortable, the rooms and bathrooms are spacious. The has a chic and tasteful feel.||As a result we had a fantastic stay and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend and return.||Hotel Ligaro is an asset to Jarnac.

I am a fan of a good boutique hotel and this one is a treat. The new owner is delightful and really committed to her guests and to the property, which is a wonderfully revonated and chic historic building right in the center of charming Jarnac. Breakfast affords wonderful choices in the French style and the rooms (the owner gave us a tour of all of them) are consistently wonderful. I'd urge everyone to try it!

A lovely place to stay in the quaint town of Jarnac, the home of Courvoisier cognac. The rooms were clean, good sized, quiet, and the beds were comfortable. There was a lovely simple breakfast provided in the mornings. Little courtyard in the garden to sip coffee and enjoy the countryside.

We stayed in Jarnac for a couple of days. This was a lovely hotel. It was easily accessible from the town, but in a quiet area.||||The hotel is tasteful and decorated beautifully. We stayed in the 2 bed gite to the rear of the hotel, it was very pleasant, with a new kitchen etc, but was a bit damp (or at least smelt that way). On the plus side, we had our own little courtyard with table and chairs in the sun - lovely. The beds were comfortable.

Four of us stayed here recently and were warmly greeted by Caroline who is there during the day and leaves you to your own devices in the evening. She is very helpful with local recommendations and making bookings etc. We were not so enamoured of the "boutique" decorations but the hotel was spotlessly clean, the beds very comfortable and the breakfasts (at an extra charge) prepared by Caroline were very good. Parking in the small square just opposite was so easy and free of charge and the road very quiet. Upon reflection, the price for the rooms was a little higher than we would have expected for the location. It was a very pleasant stay, but we would probably look elsewhere if we returned to the Cognac region.

Gorgeous hotel in the centre of Jarnac, the home of Courvoisier. Easy access to Cognac (10 min drive). Lovely building, beautifully decorated big room and bathroom. Great breakfast. Minutes from the central square, park and some great waterside walks. Very friendly and helpful owner and staff. Really enjoyed my stay - highly recommended.

It was an absolute pleasure to spend three days at this Hotel for my husband's "milestone" birthday. This was a well crafted surprise for my husband with the exceptional help of Caroline (the owner). Nothing was too much trouble and Caroline's knowledge of the area and suggestions were what made this trip exceptionally memorable - thank you. The cognac houses were very welcoming and brilliantly informative.||||The breakfast was lovely, laid out with precision and pride and we were very well attended - couldn't have been any better. ||||We ate one evening at Restaurant Du Chateaux which was equally superb - the food was exquisite and we were exceptionally attended to by the waiter. An absolute must to experience.||||All in all a fantastic experienced and one that I would highly recommend.
