Hotel Lis Baixa

We had a very pleasant stay at the Lis Baixa Hotel in Lisbon. The hotel is located in the very heart of the city, in the Baixa district, making it an ideal base for exploring the main attractions. The rooms were clean and comfortable, with daily housekeeping maintained to a high standard. The hotel impresses with its charm, and the warmth of the staff creates a unique and unforgettable atmosphere. Our room had a balcony, which was a great advantage and allowed us to enjoy the city’s atmosphere. The staff were extremely kind, helpful, and always smiling – special thanks to Inês Baroseiro and Leandro Monteiro at the reception, who supported us with great dedication in many matters, including organizing sightseeing and assisting with day-to-day aspects of our stay, always showing kindness and professionalism. The breakfasts were tasty and varied, with local touches. The hotel atmosphere was welcoming and perfect for relaxing after a busy day in the city. We highly recommend the Lis Baixa Hotel to anyone who wants to experience the true spirit of Lisbon and values comfort and an excellent location.

From the moment we stepped into the Lobby after an overnight flight and was greeted by Ines we felt right at home. Ines was very helpful providing us information on the area around the hotel and recommendation on things to do until our room was ready. We had a superior street view room and the size of the room and bathroom were clean and more than adequate for our three night stay. The location is ideal and walkable to many restaurants, shops, the marina and the hop on hop off bus. Breakfast in the adjoining restaurant was very good with plenty of food items to choose from. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Lisbon. It's much more welcoming than a big chain brand.

I can only say positive things about this hotel. The location, the room, the breakfast, the helpful staff. There is nothing negative at all. Our room was small, but very comfortable, the shower was great, the location was very close to local restaurants and bars, one bar in particular was on the same road. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. The price was excellent for a hotel so close to the centre.

This hotel was perfect for our first trip to Lisbon. The two best things about this hotel are the location and the wine bar on the main floor. The appetizers were excellent. As for the room, the bed was comfortable but the room is very small, the bedside tables could fit a cell phone and nothing else. Both the bathroom and the room were very dark, which you could switch into a positive considering you could nap in darkness. My only recommendation would be to get an Uber to the airport and not use their shuttle as it is much cheaper to do the Uber.

Great hotel in a great location. The receptionist were exceptional. Only complaint, you can hear everything in the room, and the toilet paper is kind of rough haha. But besides that, pretty good value hotel

Small elegant room with huge bathroom, nice details, robe, slippers. It's a clean updated boutique hotel in an excellent location. Don't use their airport pickup (it's $35 , I paid $16. They offered a ride to the port for $25, I paid 7 euros. But it's in a safe, lovely area of outdoor cafe's and shops. I would go back there.

Comfortable and convenient hotel in the center of Lisbon, within walking distance of major attractions. Surrounded by cafés, restaurants, and shops, with easy access to all public transportation. The room was clean and spacious, with plenty of amenities. The staff were friendly and helpful, and they even allowed us to leave our luggage until the afternoon. Definetely highly recommended.

Was there on business, It's definitely not a 4 star hotel, more like 2 /3 start hotel. The rooms are on the small size, Access to cabinet not organized well. The shower had mold.. The bathroom door stuck Midway on the floor. Breakfast with coffee machine that doesn't work... You get the picture.. The area is nice and the recep6staff are very nice but the hotel is noti would recommend to look for other hotels nearby

I was overall very pleased with my short stay here. The hotel room is clean and bright. There was bath ropes, slippers, complementary mineral water (one 1L bottle), and various personal care products in the bathroom. Toothbrush and toopaste are also available upon request. Room was quite small but understandable given the location. I would like to give a shout out to the staff here for the excellent service. They were nothing but welcoming during my stay here. Mailed my postcard for me, booked airport shuttle (they provide this service for 25 euro), and giving me restaurant suggestions and tour guides. I couldn't have asked more out of them. The breakfast here was quite simple, the regular continental stuff (eggs, bacon, mushroom, bread, coffee) plus some pastries (Portuguese custard). I would dine out (check out my review for a brunch place literally a few steps away).

After having a grand time in Lagos, we headed back to Lisbon for the last leg in our trip. Unfortunately, due to its popularity and great customer service, the Dare Lisbon House (please reference my review if interested) was not available. Therefore, my wife booked our stay at an establishment called Hotel Lis. After a three hour train ride from Lagos, we were ready to kick our feet up and enjoy some R&R time in our room. When we entered the lobby, we received a lukewarm greeting from the employee at the front desk. After discovering that Yelp is international, I "checked in" on the app and saw that there was a 10% off of your stay offer. I proceeded to show this to the employee, he responded by saying that he was unaware that the business was on Yelp and that I would have to bring it up to the manager at check out. This was disappointing to me because I have never encountered an employee not being aware of a coupon that is available on a legitimate app. After receiving our key cards, we headed up to our room. The room was very clean and for the most part, had everything that we needed. Two things that stood out, was the lack of a coffee machine (I believe there was instant coffee-which is less than great) and the lack of a Smart TV (it's 2023-every hotel should have a TV that allows for you to log into your favorite streaming services). Also, the lighting provided in the rooms is not sufficient to the size; therefore, there was dark spots in our room (even with all of the lighting on). Every morning (from 7:30 to 10:30) the neighboring Taberna do Lis restaurant provides a free breakfast to Hotel Lis guest complete with coffee and champagne. The staff at Taberna do Lis are really friendly and constantly refresh breakfast items as they run out. Overall, we made the best of our stay here. We love the location of the hotel, the ability to peek out your open windows and see + hear the everyday city life, and the close proximity to restaurants and shopping venues. If you're looking for outgoing staff that go above and beyond, this is not the place for you. I honestly cannot say that we would be willing to stay here again; however, if push came to shove, we could make it work.

My husband and I stayed here last week and enjoyed ourselves. It is in a great location and very convenient for all of the things we wanted to do. The rooms are pretty small, but we had read the reviews before hand and were prepared for this. There is a small balcony and shutters that open up for a natural light which I really liked and small storage as well with a mini fridge. However, that fridge is full of mini bar options one we found was that there is no ironing board in the room despite us calling beforehand to inquire if the hotel ironing boards in the rooms. When I went to the front desk to get one, the clerk was not sure where it was, which made us even later for our dinner plans. We ended up having to leave without getting the iron. They also have an elevator, which is great, however, they do not tell you that the touch pad button sometimes has issues, unless you ask. My husband and I were using the stairs, thinking the elevator was broken until we mentioned it to the front desk, who stated, "you just have to push hard sometimes." All in all, it wasn't a bad day we spent most of our day out of the hotel and we're only there to sleep so it worked for what we needed.

My boyfriend and I came to Lisbon, and this hotel was fantastic. It was perfect for what we needed a clean, comfortable, and central place to stay and sleep. What really blew us away was the staff, especially Ines! She was incredible and truly made our whole stay easy and enjoyable. We would definitely come back, not only for the location but also for the kindness of the staff. A big shout-out to Ines she was truly an angel during our trip!

The Hotel Lis Baixa was an ok value. The location was fantastic as it was a quick walk from the water, many of the sites, and bakeries and restaurants. The hotel offered us a little balcony overlooking a restaurant and also had a restaurant connected to the hotel where you could get 10% off. Service was good as the staff was friendly, welcoming, and provided good recommendations. The rooms are tight and the walls are thin, but given the location, you should be out enjoying the sites and experiences of Lisbon and only really in your room to sleep.

Good points: The hotel has been beautifully renovated with modern features. The attached restaurant is good and open late. Hotel Lis is close to everything. Bad points: The rooms are minuscule. There is no place to lay out luggage. The coffee maker and fridge are in the closet and half the closet is blocked by the bed. There is no place to sit other than the bed. We stayed for 1 night and checked out.
