Hotel Locanda della Posta

We had a wonderful stay at Locanda della Posta. Our room was very nice, spotless, and comfortable, exactly what you hope to find when you arrive in a new city. The staff were always kind and welcoming, and they helped us with great suggestions for places to visit and how to move in and around Perugia. They were also very quick and efficient when booking extras such as taxis, which made everything easier and stress free for us. A special mention goes to the breakfast, which was truly outstanding. There were many options to choose from, both sweet and savory, all presented with great care and attention to detail. It was a real pleasure to start the day like that. Overall, our experience was excellent and we would be very happy to stay here again.

We stayed here two nights, Thursday and Friday. The staff were very helpful, professional, and sometimes humorous. I enjoyed that they had a free Nespresso machine by reception. The decaffeinated capsules are red (not green as I would expect) and a receptionist said "That's to warn Italians not to use it!"||Our room was quite roomy and modern with a large bathroom and shower. They had a safe and refrigerator with free water that they replenished each morning. The breakfast was very good and the serving staff were excellent. The location is fantastic; you step our to cafes, restaurants, and piazzas. They have an elevator even though it is a historic building (Johann Wolfgang von Goethe stayed there). ||The only disadvantages were that they don't really have a lobby (just a couch near the reception). They were doing construction and our one window was obstructed by scaffolding. Each morning there was the sound of a truck backing up about 6:30 a.m.; I don't know if that was a construction delivery or for one of the cafes nearby. There is no laundry, either full-service or self-service, nearby (it's a historic district) so we paid €116 for what seemed like very few clothing items to the cleaned by the hotel's service. ||We paid €482 for two nights of lodging.

We fell in love with Perugia during our recent trip to Italy and much of it had to do with Locanda Della Posta. The staff truly went out of their way to ensure our stay was flawless and everything we asked of them, they were more than happy to oblige. We initially stayed in a Family Junior Suite for 3 nights and it was within steps from all of the local sites in Perugia. The beds were extremely comfortable and the bathrooms large with walk in showers and exceptional soap products. We also had the daily buffet breakfast which was plentiful and included any possible type of food your family could ask for, from yogurt to cheeses to waffles to eggs and any kind of fresh fruit you could imagine. All was top quality. Service at the breakfast was also exceptional with staff always at the ready to serve hot drinks to your liking. We enjoyed our stay so much that we extended our stay and also tried their sister property, The Bank Hotel, which was just a few meters away and offered spotless and modern accommodations for the family. Locanda Della Posta is truly at the top of its class and an exceptional way to spend your vacation in the lovely town of Perugia.

We were only able to stay for one night, but still had a lovely stay. The staff were all so kind and welcoming and the room was very comfortable. The location was perfect for exploring the old city, including the charming Christmas market. Finally the breakfast was fantastic with many options, all of which were delicious!

The hotel is in a good central location. The room was very clean but the decor was a little worn in places. The breakfast had limited choice, but it was tasty and fresh. On day 2 the hot food choices were cold, but on the other days they were fine. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

So happy we went with this hotel that was recommended. It was a 5 star experience. From the minute we walked in to the minute we left. The staff, room, breakfast and everything in between was exceptional. Right in the heart of the center, walking distance to all historic sites, amazing restaurants and sunsets. Can’t wait to go back and stay longer in this beautiful city!

The hotel is perfectly located in Perugia’s main street, Corso Vannucci. It is clean and the staff are helpful and friendly and can speak good English. The buffet breakfast is varied and delicious! Highly recommended!

The experience in this hotel has been excellent.|The staff were very kind and helpful. Although a few changes were necessary before our arrival, my father and I were pleasantly impressed by their competence in handling everything.|The rooms were very nice, spacious and clean, and the breakfast was excellent!

A very nice property in a very nice location in a very nice town. The front desk is very helpful and attentive. The room was well appointed. The location is special in that you can walk out the front door into the flow of the main square in town.
