Hotel Locanda della Posta

We fell in love with Perugia during our recent trip to Italy and much of it had to do with Locanda Della Posta. The staff truly went out of their way to ensure our stay was flawless and everything we asked of them, they were more than happy to oblige. We initially stayed in a Family Junior Suite for 3 nights and it was within steps from all of the local sites in Perugia. The beds were extremely comfortable and the bathrooms large with walk in showers and exceptional soap products. We also had the daily buffet breakfast which was plentiful and included any possible type of food your family could ask for, from yogurt to cheeses to waffles to eggs and any kind of fresh fruit you could imagine. All was top quality. Service at the breakfast was also exceptional with staff always at the ready to serve hot drinks to your liking. We enjoyed our stay so much that we extended our stay and also tried their sister property, The Bank Hotel, which was just a few meters away and offered spotless and modern accommodations for the family. Locanda Della Posta is truly at the top of its class and an exceptional way to spend your vacation in the lovely town of Perugia.

So happy we went with this hotel that was recommended. It was a 5 star experience. From the minute we walked in to the minute we left. The staff, room, breakfast and everything in between was exceptional. Right in the heart of the center, walking distance to all historic sites, amazing restaurants and sunsets. Can’t wait to go back and stay longer in this beautiful city!

Wonderful stay, staff all very helpful and spoke perfect English. Breakfast room beautiful with good variety of hot cold choices. Room was spot less and bed very comfortable. Lovely high end toiletries provided with separate shampoo and conditioner. Free water in room, topped up daily and small mini bar selection at very reasonable prices. Hotel location is perfect in the old town, do recommend taxi from the airport and not the bus as it’s very steep long walk from the bus station with several narrow escalators. There are stairs to reception and level 4 but staff will help if needed. Lots of local cafes, bars and restaurants nearby, there is no bar in the hotel.

Wonderful stay at this beautiful hotel right in the centre of the historic centre. All the staff were so helpful, our flight was delayed and front desk very responsive to our email updates and also helped locate my husband’s lost glasses which he left them in our taxi after check out. |Breakfast room had a stunning ceiling and good variety of cold and hot. We had the jacuzzi room which overlooked the front and is at the top of the hotel and lovely to chill out after a days walking. Our room wasn’t huge but plenty big enough and very clean with a nice well lit bathroom, bed was super comfy and we were able to make it dark, aircon was effective too. Toiletries were high end and included decent shampoo and conditioner as well as shower gel. Mini fridge was reasonably priced and free water topped up daily. |The hotel is in an old building, there are steps to reception and up to the lift but staff will help with luggage, lift goes to floor 3, there is a flight of stairs to rooms 401 and 402 on the top floor. |The bus tour is a must do, catch it just 5mins away from hotel in the square, pay on the bus. We loved perugia it is beautiful and had a lovely vibe, everyone was friendly. |Restaurants, cafes, bars and shops right out front.We spent 2 nights before going onto a wedding.

Right in the heart of Perugia, this hotel is beautiful and outstanding. The staff are partially welcoming and helpful, particularly Samantha on reception. We were able to park our car with them and all their restaurant and excursion recommendations were superb. The room was quiet, clean and beautifully furnished and extremely comfortable beds. Breakfast was fresh and delicious, catering for all tastes and preferences.

Before I even arrived, they were so helpful with questions about the location and arranged for a ride from the airport. From the front desk personnel to the comfortable room, clean and well designed. We loved the breakfast, great fresh fruit and the breakfast staff so efficient and anticipated our needs! WE had to leave early and they packed us a to go breakfast! I would highly recommend!

Our family of four (including two young kids) thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Locanda Della Posta. The rooms are spacious and spotlessly clean. The location is right at the center of everything. The hotel staff are also all very helpful and friendly. The hotel breakfast offers a variety of both sweet and savory items, with the most delicious scrambled eggs. Overall, highly recommended if you’re visiting Perugia!

This place is really good, and gets the full five stars despite a couple of gripes I'll get to later. ||The location is fantastic, a couple of hundred yards from the main square. The building is beautiful, apparently renovated about 8 years ago but looks fresher. ||We had the jacuzzi room - on the top floor with a balcony and hot tub with views over town and to the countryside beyond. ||There's no bar or restaurant but the breakfast selection is good, and the room it's served in spectacular. ||Staff are generally very pleasant and helpful, particularly in handling the logistics of parking and luggage.||At £240 a night including breakfast and parking it's not cheap but still good value I'd say.||It's not quite perfect, though. Service at breakfast is patchy, with coffee often taking ages or not showing up at all. Then at checkout, despite asking, I was not offered the option to pay in Euros. The rate I was charged to pay in £ was worse than the card company rate, and the lack of choice cost me around £25. That was a shame as otherwise it was perfect.

A very nice property in a very nice location in a very nice town. The front desk is very helpful and attentive. The room was well appointed. The location is special in that you can walk out the front door into the flow of the main square in town.
