Hotel Loenfjord

The hotel is located by a river side just before the river merges into the fjord, very nice location. The staff is nice, however the room is bit old. The drain in the bathroom is not sealed so there is a smell inside the bathroom. There are no electric outlet near the bed, so it's little inconvenient to charge the mobile phone. The switch near the bed shuts off all lights in the room, which means you can't use the light adjacent to the bed while your mate is sleeping.

The location is perfect. The rooms and breakfast are basic, but the stunning view makes up for it. The only downside is the lack of a power socket near the bed; however we can ask for extra cord at reception. In addition, the blueberry pie was very good.

The least generous hotel we’ve ever stayed in, anywhere in the world. For the cost of the room, to have no coffee making facilities, a bar that only opened at 5pm, nowhere to charge your car or your phone (there was one plug socket in the whole room, nowhere near the bed, and it only worked if all the lights were on in the room). The floors were wooden, so you could hear every footstep of the people above you, all night long.

Location of the hotel is stunning but do be warned of a few things that we got surprised with when we checked in here. 1.) No elevator, you’re on your own with your suitcases and the staircase 2.) Rooms don’t have power outlets to charge your phone or any device, the bathroom is your best bet 3.) The bathroom had a very heady, offending odor 4.) No fridge in the room For the price you’ll be charged, be ready to be amazed at how basic the room is.

The room was very basic with a desk and small sitting area. “Mountain View” is debatable but the windows were over-sized and could open up to minimal views and a nice breeze. Upgrading to a River View room with balcony may be a better choice here. Bathroom extremely small and no space to change post shower. No facial tissues!||Breakfast was in a massive dining room but hostess seated everyone into two rows all crammed together. Many people on cell phones and viewing loud videos (note: not children). Some signage to silence phones is needed. ||We didn’t eat dinner in the hotel, but the outside patio seating looked really nice along the river. We drove to Stryn for dinner and came back to have drinks in the lounge. Lounge area is very outdated and obviously suited for big tour groups. |Three tour buses had arrived that evening.||Nice big parking lot with ample spots. Behind the Hotel is very picturesque with the raging river and mountains as backdrop. There is a small paved walking path along the river that all can enjoy and “birders” will truly be delighted. Good landing spot for Loen Skylift Tram.

Fantastic! Unsure where negative reviews are coming from! The rooms are spacious and comfortable, yes the bathrooms are small… but functional with 24”x36” shower! Great water pressure. Breakfast was par with others…. Includes eggs, pancakes, bacon…. Sausage, beans etc. also fresh fruit, meats and cheeses BONUS: They offer lunch bag service… they offer the bag, you make your lunch!!!! Servers were pleasant and attentive Front desk pleasant and courteous Short walk to the sky lift.

Position of the hotel is good with views at the rear & close to amenities. I booked a balcony room with fjord view -which we got, but it was very close to the busy main road. Book a river view room if you want quiet for sleeping. |Room was clean, cosy & functional. Would have liked hot drink facilities in the room. Communal area, very nice with lots of comfy seats.|Ate dinner here which was taken in the bar area as the main dining room was occupied by travellers from the 4 tour buses. Food was|pleasant but a bit pricey. |Good breakfast buffet and thankfully most of the tour groups had gone by 8.15 am.|All the staff were helpful and friendly.|Note, there is no lift, so muscle required if you’re on the upper floor.

We stayed here as part of a tour, it was comfortable, lovely rooms, but there were just a few things that could have been better. ||Between breakfast and dinner there were no facilities for tea/coffee or water. It would have been nice to have tea and coffee making facilities in the room. ||When charging a phone at night, we had to leave the lights on, as switching them off meant the sockets did not work. ||We were on the first floor, the elevator was out of order which meant carrying cases up the stairs.
