The hotel has charm, looks a bit like an antique store, and has the opening central area that the floors are built around. We have a great "suite" with two sleeping areas, and a huge bathroom. The only windows we have, however, open into the center hallway areas and afford no privacy. When we close the shutters the rooms are really dark. There has been no hot water in the shower, and when necessary we have to ask someone to turn it on, but even then after waiting the required 30 minutes, the water is still freezing cold. The shower head just sprays out one stream of water. It could use new fixtures and a curtain instead of the flimsy doors that leak water onto the floor. Breakfast was simple, but good, with fresh squeezed orange juice, bread rolls, and scrambled eggs with tomatoes. The beds are clean, a bit hard, but good after a long day of walking around town. Los Balcones has good wi-fi and a good location. Fans in the rooms would be nice, but in the evening it does cool down to a nice, pleasant temperature for sleeping.
