Hotel Los Gatos

Valentine's night away with the wife. Location is good. Room was lovely, clean. Fireplace was a delightful feature. But no hotel bar. Don't know if that's cos the restaurant across the way had booked the bar out for valentines dinner guests. But pre dinner drinks ended up back at the room, using the mini bar. Meh. Breakfast? The front lobby Kcup coffee, cheap croissant, and plastic cutlery wasn't really what you'd expect for such a glamorous location. The lack of room service is underlined by the drop off counter in the lobby for door dash!?! Think I'll try somewhere else next time.

Wish my room had not faced the road, but the windows are good and I could not hear traffic. Blackout curtains and fireplace were perfect. Free breakfast, very nice. Great neighborhood to walk around and check out shops.

Wonderful hotel! Incredibly relaxing. Immediately upon walking in you feel a since of calm. It’s a lovely little sanctuary. Thank you Ashley for taking care of us. We will be back! 💗

We had a fabulous trip to Los Gatos. Stunning room, magical trees, relaxing hot tub and property. We went to the nearby Hakone estate and gardens and enjoyed excellent food and shopping right near the hotel. I felt that the value for this hotel was well worth it. We can’t wait to come back.

Hotel is really lovely. Def that Los Gatos vibe. Rich in deco and spa like areas everywhere you roam. The smell of eucalyptus trailing behind you. The hotel boasts easy parking, clean rooms and areas, and small but beautiful and kept pool and spa. The hotel offers complimentary light breakfast in am with coffee and juice. Nice touch. Housekeeping was always smiling. The best part was the spa! It’s separate, but still located in hotel. Best massage ever by Eva! Hydrafacil was ok. The only negative thing I would probably say is furniture is a little outdated, but I think that’s just goes with the classic and richness of the hotel. But it’s located across the street from a high school. Beautiful, yet obviously packed during the school year, causing traffic jams. All in all can’t wait to come back!

The hotel has outsourced it's reservations and the people booking it will lie to you just to book and receive more credit. I recently visited and the person who booked the rooms for us assured me that we were getting a connecting room with 2 Queen beds. When I checked in, the staff said the hotel doesn't even have a room configuration like that. Additionally, before my stay, I called to extend my room to 2 nights. It kept sounding like they were making a new reservation, and I confirmed with them many times that I was extending my stay. When I returned back to the room after my party, my key no longer worked and I was forced to check-in a second time in order to get back into the building and back into my room - it was late, and I was not happy. When I asked the Clerk (with long blond hair and a beard) why I had to check-in a second time - he rudely replied that I had chosen to book 2 separate reservations. I wrote immediately to the management when they asked how my stay was going. They never responded. I will not be staying here again, unfortunately, as I really enjoy the hotel. Although, the last time I stayed, grabbed a water from the workout room and the cleaning lady forced me to return it - saying the bottled waters were only for guests who used the gym. They also knocked on my door at 9am to see if they could clean it, and woke me up. If it's not time to check out, and there isn't a sign on the door saying come in and clean now - then they should not be bothering the guests!

We spent 8 days across central California and this was one of our absolute favorite stays. It feels luxurious, but like a private retreat, not an ostentatious mega resort. The rooms are well appointed and are unique. The lobby and other areas are quiet and beautiful. And we spent less than $200 per night! Overall I cannot recommend this hotel enough. In fact, the whole area of Los Gatos would be on my list of places to stay if I was looking for a relaxing day in the area.

reservation would not let me pay on arrival, so I paid in advance because I was told that the travel insurance would cover me in case I had to cancel. I discovered that the insurance does not cover any preexisting conditions. The purpose of the trip was to visit Better Place Forrest as a burial site. So, no coverage by insurance company. I tried to explain to Best Western, Hotel Planning etc but no one cares and now I am out 1400 bucks that I cannot afford. NEVER AGAIN WILL I STAY AT A BEST (worst) WESTERN

We came here 10 years ago for our wedding night. A couple weekends ago we came back to celebrate our 10 year wedding anniversary! This hotel is beautiful and we had a wonderful time. Shout out to Daniel at the front desk for being so kind and helpful during our stay! Thank you Hotel Los Gatos for making this anniversary so special and memorable! Tip: The beds are a little firmer than what I would prefer. The $30 amenity fee seems a bit high for what you get with it.

Quiet hotel in Los Gatos. The place is maintained well and offers a sanctuary away from big tech. The on-site restaurant is not open on Monday or Tuesday, though the food is worth the wait. Frequent visitors can enjoy a complementary bottle of wine at check-in.

Oh man, I had a great experience here. Staff was so friendly and helpful. Establishment was clean the entire time, and my room was refilled with goodies everyday. Gym was nice, pool was clean and the breakfast was fine.

Surprised I haven't reviewed here yet. Been coming to this hotel for about 20 years. Lovely hotel part of Dio Deka, and across from LG high school. Has changed ownership a few times. Typically stay in one of their two top suites which has balconies and jacuzzi tub and two fireplaces. Could use a bit of TLC when it comes to finishing work like tile. Even though I live local I'll often grab a room just to hang out. Very reasonable rates.

I love this beautiful hotel in Los Gatos and it's so charming. I would classify it as cozy elegance. The beds are really comfortable and the bathroom is spacious with a great soaking tub. I highly suggest staying here!!

Such a beautiful hotel and feels like a small getaway that is amazingly located and worth a stop even for a night. I will stay here again and look forward to it becoming part of my annual tradition in the area.

There's so much to love about this hotel and there's one major thing to hate. This is such a beautiful hotel, it feels very quaint and peaceful. The pool is wonderful, some of the lounges are a little wobbly but nothing major. There's a nice breakfast with little quiches and yogurt and things like that. Inside the rooms, they have a nespresso machine and the beds are nice. With one exception. The pillows are absolutely, hurt your neck, awful. I usually leave hotels having slept so comfortably-- this is actually the only one in my decades of traveling that I have not. Twice we've stayed here and had to call in the middle of the night to ask if they have different pillows. They do have feather ones but they don't keep them in the rooms. The feather ones were tolerable and we got a few hours sleep on them but not enough. If you stay here, bring your own pillow! The bed also pitched in the middle which didn't help the comfort level but the problem was primarily the pillows. They have a nice fitness room with a great selection of weights, a peloton, treadmill and some other things. The workout bench was broken when I got there and I alerted staff right away as this would be very dangerous if someone did a weighted step up, which I was about to do when I noticed it.

Charges deceptive fees not advertised when booking through third parties. It's 2025 -- the full price should be advertised price. The neighboring room was filled with young men bragging about doing drugs and how they would never let a woman drive their sports car. I spoke into the wall that I could hear every single word as clear as day, so they took it down a notch but I could still hear everything. Was impossible to sleep.

This place is a true gem! In an age where everything looks cookie cutter, and modern this hotel has a classic Mediterranean feel. The rooms are very clean with charming decor and thoughtful furnishings. There is a well stocked mini bar in the room and such a surprise to find Lavazza espresso and beautiful wines! What a lovely surprise and the price was right.

Bed bugs! The worst and disgusting experience that I ever had. The hotel had bed bugs. I drove all the way from LA to visit my friends. And I searched for the good and decent hotels around and I found this one, so I drove straight to the hotel and they had room available with more than $300 for night. So you will think you are getting a nice and decent room. But unfortunately the room was so disappointing. The room was very small and old. The bathroom faucets was leaking water as soon as you would open them. The TV was just basic TV channels. So anyway took a shower and nap for a bit then went out with friends and came back around 12 am. I got ready to bed that suddenly I saw bed bugs on my pillows and bed. They were some small ones and one big one. Which I'm lucky that I saw them before I sleep. I called the reception and I told him I have bed bugs. So he came and saw them and told me, "In this situation usually we will offer another room, but we don't have any availability right now so I don't think that you want to stay in here so we will return your money ". Even if they had another room available, I wouldn't trust them. I asked him how I'm going to find a hotel in the middle of the night? I asked him if he could help. But he said, sorry I can't help you with that. I was so mad at that point. And they didn't even had manger available. Very bad costumer service on top of the bed bugs problem. Which I thought they should be more helpful in this situation. Anyways I packed My stuff and I had to drove back to LA cause I couldn't find any other hotel. I can't believe that they ruined my night and all my plans like that. I felt so sick and disgusted after that that I'm still feeling itchy all over. I think this trauma will stay with me for rest of my life.

A gem in the San Jose area. It was our first time staying in Los Gatos, so the whole experience was a wonderful discovery. Hubs found the hotel and it was a perfect location for our weekend. We arrived late, the lobby was clean, staff attentive. I asked for and was provided maps of the local area & recommendations. Our room was clean and spacious. The bathroom has a tub and tiled shower, with plenty of room. The best part, for me, was the bed. I'm a bit of a princess-and-the-pea when it comes to mattresses. This was not too soft, very comfortable and we got great sleep. The rooms have refrigerators, stocked with mini bar drinks. In room coffee & tea is available, as well as 24 hour self-serve coffee & tea in the lobby. The location worked out well for us with sight seeing. A short walk to the downtown area. Cute coffee spot across the street with delicious breakfast wraps. We'd definitely come again!!

We stayed in room 249. It was a corner kind suit and it was beautiful! Windows on 2 sides, 2 patios, a fireplace, nice bathtub and very generous space. Location was fantastic - we walked everywhere easily. Would definitely stay again.

Overall, okay stay. Hotel has very thin walls. You can hear everything. The plumbing was very loud you can hear when neighbors are showering.

Wonderful staff, pretty accomodations that have a unique early California/Spanish charm, and very convenient location. Plenty of parking, too!

I LOVE THIS PLACE! I WANNA MOVE IN!!!! It's so romantic and picturesque. If you want to do a staycation I recommend choosing this place. Nestled beautifully in downtown Los Gatos and just steps away from shops and restaurants. They have a quaint pool and jacuzzi area for your pleasure as well. My husband and I were catching a show at Mountain Winery on a Sunday so instead of taking Monday off I just booked a room. I believe they have a restaurant on site so that's convenient. Check in was a breeze. Parking was plentiful. The buildings and property transports you out of California. It's as if you are in a little village in Italy. The room we were assigned had french doors that opened up to a little seating area and a few steps away from the pool. Bed was large and comfy and sheets were soft. They provide you with two robes. Don't you just love a hotel that offers robes? I do! I booked this place on line about a month before our concert and got a really good deal! I'll be back!

The best hotel in LG. I have had several friends and colleagues stay here when they visit and they are always complimentary. It also helps that it is right by downtown LG with great restaurants, bars and hiking trails. The experience with the sales team was not great but the actual event I hosted there recently went off well. The pool is small...the art in the hotel is worth admiring...the restaurant Dio Deka is great and one I frequent often... the staff in the front were super nice.

Hotel Los Gatos is very charming and has a resort-in-your-own-backyard feel. All the staff have been very pleasant, but Daniel at the front desk stands out -- he is always so welcoming whenever we visit and is simply a wonderful concierge. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a staycation or if you want a boutique feel when visiting from out of town.

Am very disappointed in the service and my room, requested a Grand Suite Double bed and they gave us a Junior Suite. We are good guests in this hotel been coming here for years and hoping to provide us a good service and good room. It's a downer. The front Desk is big mess, constantly changing staff, everytime we visit new faces. They can't accommodate us of early check-in, constantly Lady in front desk stating will call when the room is available, but no call. So my husband and my son went there they checked in at exactly 3 pm. 1 star!

We will be back, that's for sure. Originally I was looking online for places to stay and this location came up. I had called and spoke to Brooke to enquire about their room and in room massage package. Unfortunately because of our friend RONA lol massages are off the table for now. But she was able to help me book a room. I had explained this was our first trip away from having our toddler for a night! Two years and this was finally our first night away from her lol. It was amazing. Anyways, I wanted to surprise my husband with this getaway. Brooke went above and beyond to assure our visit was perfect! We got a room with a bottle of wine waiting for us to sit and unwind for the weekend. We arrived and was lucky enough to meet and be greeted by Brooke upon arrival. She had the friendliest smile and attitude and I was there for it! She got us all booked and taken care of us, and gave us a beautiful balcony room facing the courtyard which we JUST LOVED! The property is super clean, their lobby is currently being remodeled, which will be beautiful once completed. It's separate from most the rooms so it doesn't disrupt anyone. We loved the beautiful serene courtyard. Plenty of spaced seating for you to sit and enjoy the sound of the fountain or go swimming in their pool area. They have a filtered water bottle system between the two that we utilized a LOT! I had called to see if they had a gym which they didn't which was fine but again Brooke suggested a nice place to workout across the street in a beautiful lawn. I opted to do my Zumba in the courtyard early in the am and it worked out great! I also want to thank Gabriela for her kind customer service the evening on Saturday with assisting my husband with some questions he had. She didn't hesitate to answer his questions and helped us. These ladies are great, and this is why when we come out that way again we won't be staying anywhere else and will be recommending this place to friends and family as well! Brooke thanks for the restaurant recommendation on your property as well, it was PERFECT! So delicious!

This business is discriminatory against military personnel who have military tattoos. If I could give negative stars I would. I was attending my father's funeral and my brother had made reservations for my mother, himself and his family and my wife and I. My wife had called earlier in the day when we were supposed to be arriving at the hotel, we drove from out of state, and explained to the day manager that we were going to be late arriving. The day manager said that was fine the reservation had our last name just check in with the night employee. My wife and I arrived around 12:40 am and I attempted to check in. The night employee, a tubby man had brown hair cut short all around, wore glasses. This employee proceeded to tell me that there was no reservation in my name. I explained that my brother had made multiple reservations for my mom, my wife and I and him and his family. We were all coming to California from out of state to bury my father. This employee continued to tell me I had no reservations in my name. I tried calling my brother but he was asleep and didn't answer his cell phone. I asked the employee to call my brother's room but he told me he could not because of privacy laws. I called my mother on her cell phone and she answered. I gave my phone to this employee but he said he could not confirm it was really my mother stating in the hotel. I continued to ask the employee to call my brother's room but he refused and referenced an Illinois privacy law. Which made zero sense in California. Since I was not leaving this employee then called law enforcement to have me removed. They never arrived but I left since clearly this guy was unwilling to let my wife and I to stay in the hotel. This employee also told my wife when she came in to see what was taking so long, "If you're with him, you can leave," before she said anything. On Monday my brother spoke to the manager and showed him on the reservations that my full name was there. So I can only think it was my military tattoos, my hat that said I was an Iraq/Afghanistan vet, I just do not know. But by all means DO NOT frequent this establishment! Their employees seem to pick and choose who they believe is good enough to stay there, and I guess veterans who served 25 years are not good enough for them!

For how expensive our room was, I would have expected it to be clean with new sheets and pillowcases. We noticed one of our pillows had dried blood on it. I'm beyond disgusted. Do better. With this price tag, it's unprofessional to not thoroughly clean your rooms, Im honestly shocked.

Staying here this evening - lovely room! I tried to book for another night but sold out. Great option while in LG.

Minus 1 star have never stayed in a worse place 1. Staff extremely unhelpful and not hospitable 2. Completely outdated property with broken door knobs unfunctioning doors etc even at the most expensive room 3. We checked in and had to leave, they promised us to refund us in full, upon checking 2 weeks lates they only refunded us 50% of the amount even though they assured us we'd be fully refunded. Do not recommend this place for anything but last min accommodation option.

I was so excited to bring my older two children to stay the night at Hotel Los Gatos. Ever since I was a child, this hotel seemed like the pinnacle of fancy and class - which is why I chose it as the place to treat my kids to a fun night away.. but I was in for a variety of surprises. The rooms themselves are a bit dark and dated. All of the lighting in the room is by lamp. At 1 AM in the morning, our bathroom sensor light somehow picked up movement and turned on. Mouse or a ghost? Who knows! And then there was some weird drilling sounds out in the hallway around the same time- they continue for about one minute. Not sure if the hotel staff thought this was the best time to do some sort of update in the hallway or if a hotel guest or someone else was up to something. I started to think about it in the morning... You can pull straight into the hotel garage under the hotel and go into the elevator and up into the hallways without even being a guest!! There is no room key requirement in the elevator as most newer rooms have. This is incredibly unsafe and unsettling. And thank goodness I set the alarm on my phone-- I didn't even realize the evening before that the hotel clock was an hour off. How hard is it for the cleaning staff to change the time on the clocks during daylight savings time? The final straw for me was in the morning when I tried to make coffee in the in-room bar. I poured water into the reservoir of the Keurig and there was a ton of bacteria swimming around in the reservoir. Down right disgusting. I'm very sad that this was my experience at this hotel as I have been waiting years to visit. Unfortunately we will not be back!

Definitely do not spend your money here... The rooms are dull with very cheap decor and the vibe of the hotel is depressing...In the morning they serve stale pastries and Keurig coffee which is a hard pass for me...Considering the fact that the hotel is considered to be "5 Star" I would think they would go to the effort of brewing a fresh pot of coffee in the morning. I visit Los Gatos regularly but I will never stay here again...The Toll House up the street is such a better hotel experience in every way...The rooms are bigger, brighter, the location is better, and they serve fresh coffee in the morning!

Worst customer service, they had no water all morning, we left without showering and only waived amenity fees. I would not recommend staying here. I never complain but this is ridiculous. Also no microwaves anywhere in building. I feel perhaps I was socially discriminated because of my race but I'm not going to go there. Would not recommend

I would have given it 5 out of 5 had they not pulled this garbage: "An amenity fee of $25 per night will be collected at check-in. The amentify fee includes in-room coffee and tea, on-site parking, high-speed wifi and outdoor heated pool access." I totally missed this fee because it was not included in the itemized reservation confirmation. They placed the *notice* of the fee in the small print and only charged it after I checked-out. It's a very nice hotel with professional staff, but I have a personal policy to never return to hotels that stuff the bill with hidden fees after the fact.

This stay was really nice but they didn't accept the Yelp check in offer for $10 for my in room bar. That was very disappointing. Other than that the rooms were very nice and the hot tub was awesome. I would definitely stay here again. It was a nice little vacation and I was so sad it ended.

Decided to stay here as a birthday gift to myself. I needed a mommy break! I felt well taken care of by the staff and received excellent customer service. Especially by Daniel! I would definitely return. But will request a room not directly on the busy courtyard. The spa - Verde Touch which is in the hotel but run separately is fantastic. Highly recommend this hotel as a getaway.

Pool was filled with screaming kids with giant inner tubes who were here on a resort day pass. Paying guests were unable to get chairs at the pool. I will not stay here again until management ends the 'resort pass'.

Our hotel room (corner suite) was beautiful, spacious and airy - BUT the beds were the worst EVER. Comfy beds and pillows are a must, especially for an boutique hotel that is far from cheap. Please upgrade the mattresses and pillows, so we can come back!

Hotel Los Gatos.. we called a month ahead of time when I booked the suite 126.. I was having surgery first week of March.. My boyfriend booked the suite for us, He explained why we're were going to stay for a whole week Due to me having surgery.. He asked and made sure the advertising online for the hotel was accurate and up-to-date about room service that was offered online with the booking agent.. the booking agent reassured us that everything was gonna be perfect. They've had people staying there from Surgery before.. Sadly, we were let down. unfortunately, the restaurant was only open Friday through Sunday there was no room service, unless we needed to call for ice to be brought to our room which turned to nonsense because we called every day because after my surgery I needed ice.. * we were told that there was going to be room service and this was our best option for spending over a couple thousand on a week stay.. There was a problem with plumbing since day one.. the toilet, never flushed once I could finally use the bathroom after the third day of my stay at Hotel Los Gatos.. we finally called for a plunger.. A man employee brought it over.. it only worked for that plunge.. and we had to use the bathroom outside in the hallway, which was very difficult for me, because I could barely walk.. I couldn't make it to the restroom a couple of the times, so I didn't have to use the bathroom in our room at Hotel Los Gatos.. We called the front desk the morning we left about needing a plunger at 5 AM and they said they could not bring it to us.. check out is at 1 PM and we never got a plunger on the last day.. instead we got an iron, even though my boyfriend told the office employee; what would you do if you couldn't use your own bathroom.. we open our door that morning and there is an iron tide in a plastic bag on the door.. A employee was peeking her head around the corner onto our balcony.. I was spooked by this worker wearing a bright or odd colored blazer acting like a peeping Tom or something.. I also got spooked by a football player size man standing in between my balcony and the fence of the property.. spooked me to death. I jumped out of my bed despite my pain from my surgery felt like I pulled a muscle and still hurts.. the man was either hanging lights, or doing some thing random, I just thought it was unfit to not tell the guess there was gonna be somebody outside of a 5 foot space between the balcony and the fence so we're all my windows are facing.. Hotel Los Gatos knowing that I had just gotten out of surgery.. I wish I would've been notified about somebody being there in a private area, seeing that there were no walkway or steppingstones to have to worry about random people walking by while I am half dressed, barely moving, Thank you Hotel Los Gatos.. My bed was changed three times from us staying there for seven nights our choice because I could get out of bed often.. the first two times my bed was changed. It was like sleeping in a whole new bed but the night before we left after having my bed changed for the third time I noticed bites on my arm.. my boyfriend called to notify the hotel about these random bites that look like bedbug bites.. the manager laughed and said there's no way we get our hotel clean so often and it would never happen, he didn't even listen to what we had to say that was pretty much the end of the conversation on the phone after we left.. We ordered from the restaurant on Friday and Sunday, the potatoes on Friday compared to the ones we got on Sunday where so different. It was hysterical.. the potatoes on Friday were excellent Sunday they should be ashamed to be called a four-star.. Positive points The bulding itself was beautiful and was very vintage my child described the building castle like setting.. The pool and hot tube was awesome.. Know knowing the manager isn't going to even take in consideration what we let him know.. I had to post a yelp review will not be staying at this Hotel ever again..

Discovered that the mini fridge water bottle seals were broken. I called the front desk and spoke to Ashley to see if new water bottles could be sent to our room. She explained that all the bottles are locked up at night and there's nothing she can do. Only the door man has a key. I told her I would put that bottles outside our door. She said she would make a note not to charge us for the waters. I called back to ask where I could purchase water and she said 7-Eleven four doors down from the hotel.

Yes, COVID. Hospitality is difficult right now. I get it. However, the experience at Hotel Los Gatos isn't worth the price. Not even close. Generally it was disappointing. Specifically, our room was run down and in disrepair. It may seem like a minor thing, but our bathroom light was broken. It would only stay on for about ten seconds at a time. Which means if you have the misfortune to have to pee in the middle of the night, you start fine but end up in darkness. I alerted the front desk staff within an hour of checking in. Thankfully, as I checked out they thanked me for flagging it and plan to fix it tomorrow. I've learned that I don't like pooping in the dark. Further, the bathrooms and bedrooms are connected via a door and an open area of wall covered by a shutter. So, in my room, if I was so inclined, I could lay in bed and look directly into my loving wife's eyes as she pooped. This . . . is not the experience we are looking for on vacation. Or not on vacation for that matter. I was told when I suggested this was a terrible idea that a re-model was planned and the design was inspired by Moroccan architecture. I spent my afternoon googling Moroccan bathrooms just to see what the hell they were talking about. No example I could find had a direct line of site from bed to thrown. Not to mention . . . the steam and smells and sounds from the bathroom just go right into your bedroom. You can close the shutter but that only deals with one of your senses impacted by this inexplicable design decision. I'd ask to avoid those rooms if I were you. But what did I get for 400 a night? A broken down, poorly designed room and zero effort to do anything about it. I'm not an important guest and, again, times are tough, but give me a bathroom that works for this price. It's not too much to ask.

I just received an email stating that my guest stayed at this hotel (last month - November), and they tried to charge my card for $715, can you say extortion. 1. My guest didn't stay at this hotel, so services are not rendered. 2. The reservation was made in September for two nights (1/14 & 1/15) in January 2022. I'm extremely disappointed, appalled, disgusted, and offended. This is reckless and unprofessional.

The location is great, the property is nice, there's EV chargers, and a water filter system right next to the pool. All in all, the amenities are good. But, the room was awful, and the options in Los Gatos are minimal. The only positive thing that I can say about our room was how dark we were able to make it, otherwise: the mattress was horrendous, close to NO support, it was like sleeping directly on springs. The sheets are cheap and itchy, the carpet probably hasn't been changed in 20-years. The heater is noisy, you can hear the plumbing in the neighboring units, and on and on...Probably will not return until those awful mattresses are changed.

BED BUGS!!!! We were so sad to discover Hotel Los Gatos is completely infested with bed bugs. We inspected 4 or 5 rooms and they ALL had evidence of bed bugs on the headboards. It is so sad to find such a beautiful, quaint hotel in this state. I hope they take the problem seriously before it gets much worse.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel, which is conveniently within walking distance from downtown. We got breakfast from the purple onion on 2 mornings and had dinner around the area, with parking conveniently near our room. Didn't have to worry about leaving because parking here is free, staff is friendly and the vibe was chill during covid when I came here back in July.

Solid hotel with a great location. Enjoyed being able to charge overnight. Suites are not quite what I would expect, so make sure you know what you're getting. Someone needs to quit being cheap and reorder tea for the rooms: we only had decaf black and green pomegranate - gross! We also expected normal tea and decaf coffee in the lobby, but was disappointed. Will have to give it another try.

BED BUGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I found carpet beetles in my bedsheets. Shockingly bad experience. See attached photo of one of the carpet beetle larvae that I found in my sheets. The irony is that I'm allergic to carpet beetles. So now my luggage and clothing are outside in my driveway. I don't want to risk bringing the eggs or bugs into my home. I'm totally grossed out. Will never stay here again.

Check-in was delayed as they were giving priority to a wedding party for their choice of rooms over first come first serve. We did arrive early although on a Monday figured that might not be an issue. We went to lunch and came back about 2:30-3 and it still wasn't ready. We waited until about 4 when they let us know it was ready for check in. We booked a suite which was nice although could use some slight updating. From the website I thought our suite would have a nice balcony over the pool which is what I requested but what we received was a small cramped balcony over the parking lot. They again said all the rooms by the pool were blocked off for a wedding party. The pool and hot tub were nice although MUCH smaller than it appeared from photos and poolside only has about 8 chaise lounges for seating. The on-site restaurant looked nice but again was closed for the wedding party. I'm not sure if this is the norm but when you pay a premium for a suite and then most of the property is blocked off to accommodate a special event it doesn't make it a location I will rush to return to. The location was nice. A short walk to town and plenty of restaurants to try. And it's location to the airport was very convenient.

This is the 3rd or 4th time I have stayed at Hotel Los Gatos, and the second time we have stayed since quarantine . I know that the service industry has been hit hard over this last year, as I was unable to work for most of 2020- so I try to not write bad reviews...but .... This hotel in previous visits , is our gem of a getaway, our reprieve from the hectic East Bay and a great way to spend a couple of days chilling, swimming, eating and walking downtown. It was ALWAYS 5 star in past visits. This trip was different. In the past we have been greeted by mature, courteous and professional front desk staff, that were a reflection of the reputation this hotel has. For our birthday trip a few years ago, there was an unexpected note and cupcakes for our special day ( our birthdays are a few days apart ) ! This time when we checked in, there were 4 people at the front desk that looked at us like we were interrupting them until I said I wanted to check in. The gal was nice , but the demeanor was still like we were bothering them. We checked into our room, and overall it seemed clean/ buttoned up as we rushed off to our dinner reservations. First night was good, no issues. We weren't told when we reserved there was some minor construction going on-but realistically it didn't matter to us tho, as it didn't effect our day or sleep , but the fact it wasn't mentioned until we got to our room and found a note about it on our desk was off putting. Not really how I would go about things as a person who has worked in a hotel (Sofitel ) and in high end kitchens across the country. After the first night the A/C froze ( I think) so it wasnt working when we woke up. We called the front desk and they said they would have to send maintenance up... I wasnt ready to leave the room so we just waited it out ...then finally a few hours later the AC kicked in and dripped on the carpet. There was also 2 giant cobwebs on the ceiling that my fiancee noticed. I would have offered a room change, not maintenance in the guests room- if the AC wasnt working. We left for the day to do wine tasting and then before dinner, came back to a note under our door that the smoke detectors and other emergency alarms were going to be checked at 10 am the next day, and we needed to have our rooms available for the fire inspector? to check. When my partner went down to talk to the front desk about the issue, a younger gentleman said "well clearly you are down here for a reason , what do you want ?" . Then he let us know they couldn't do anything for us and no supervisor was available until 11 pm and managers are on vacation so we can call Monday to speak to someone about the issue. This fire inspector thing is the kind of thing you make sure people are aware of on check in. Like Literally, you make sure they are ok with the fact the entire building will be going off with fire alarms. A little triggered I was, as last year I was in the middle of the Ashland/Talent fires in Oregon, a mile away from where I was staying... It isn the hotels fault ...but again if I was aware of this before booking, I might have made a different choice. In all, this is a bad set of circumstances mixed with inexperienced hospitality workers. I get it covid has really turned everything around.... but the young front desk staff doesn't seem to have experience in hospitality or care to. Id get it if I was at a Motel 6 , but this hotel is known for its rooms , charm and amenities. Our second day we waited until 11 PM to talk to Brian , the supervisor. WHO WAS AWESOME, he was the first person we interacted with during our stay who was professional, listened , and helped us. We weren't looking for free stuff.... we hadn't had a vacation in months, and we just wanted to chill and sleep in.... We did end up leaving that night and driving 1.5 hours back home so we could sleep in , but Brian made it right . We still love this hotel , we wanted to get married here... but Hotel Los Gatos needs to bring back the quality of hospitality like Brian has , in all your workers that interact with guests.

Beautiful hotel just across from the Los Gatos high school and by the corner you have the Coffee shop Dio, which is the caffeinated extension of the post Dio restaurant inside the hotel. The premises are decorated with Californian-Spanish rustic style: dark woods, grandiloquent paintings of someone important, impressive furniture, lamps and mirrors...everything is beautiful. Nice patio with fountain near the pool to just sit and chill. This place is very quiet even when they seem to be always under construction or rebuilding parts of the hotel. A little bit apart from the bustling downtown Los Gatos.

Customer service is officially dead. Stay away from this dark and dingy hotel if you're used to Four Seasons/Ritz customer service, this place is the pits! I had multiple issues with my room and I never heard back from the GM after sending a detailed message. The recap: very rude front desk attendant, my shower didn't work (i.e. the faucet plug wouldn't stay up), screaming baby/loud toddler staying next door, dirty keurig coffeemaker in room with the lowest grade cheap coffee pods. Do NOT go here for a quiet, romantic, stress free getaway. You'll be met by many loud families and unhelpful and rude front desk attendants. Overall the hotel was depressing (dark, heavy, dirty looking interiors) and in need of a dire upgrade (1980s bathroom fixtures) if you're going to charge $375+ a night.

This is in a great location. The ambience is nice and they always have great prices. Excellent Greek restaurant on property Dio Deka.
