Hotel Lötschberg

The hotel room does not allow eating inside, and there is no electric kettle provided for boiling water. Overall, the level of service is quite basic, with very limited assistance from the staff.The room does not include slippers or a toothbrush, so guests should be prepared to bring their own amenities. The stay was acceptable but nothing special.Overall, it is an average option and only generally recommended, mainly for short stays or travelers with simple needs.

Very comfortable and unique hotel. I would like to specially mention the staff, who do everything for the comfort of the guests. The hotel has parking. The hotel is away from the noise of the city, but not far for a walk in the center. The room was clean, spacious. The necessary amenities were available. In short, definitely visit, you will be satisfied.

I gave a good couple weeks before I wrote this review so that I did not give a knee jerk reaction. From the moment my family and I arrived, the woman who checked us in was angry and abrasive. Maybe she was having a bad day or maybe it was because she was not feeling well because she was pregnant, but clearly the hospitality industry is not for her. I explained to her that I needed one extra twin bed and had emailed through my third party travel company website this need, the day before arrival. She immediately was hostile and indicated she was not aware of this. I told her I emailed what I thought was direct to hotel through the third party website and I apologized. She shouted “now I have to move a twin bed and I am pregnant, we never knew about this.” I immediately offered to have my husband move any bed and she screamed “No he cannot”. She complained twice that she will write to the third party provider that she never received the information. She then proceeded to add on the extra cost for the twin bed. As I was paying for it, the tap did not work on my card and then I was trying to find where to put in my card for the chip, and she nastily stated in a condescending manner “Don’t they have chips in the US?” In the middle of this check-in experience, someone else entered the hotel and she answered their questions without hostility for some reason. After I paid for the “extra twin bed” which I never received. I asked politely about where shall we park? She just rolled her eyes and said “uhhh we need to pay for that now and it is behind the hotel” and she reluctantly pushed the credit card machine in front of me again. She was so nasty and I have never in all my 40 years of traveling ever experienced this hostility and rudeness. I hope she has a good maternity leave as she clearly needs to have a reset

DO NOT STAY HERE - ABUSIVE HOST||My wife and I are in our late sixties and have stayed in dozens of hotels around the world over the past forty years. We have never experienced anything like the abusive treatment we received at this hotel. When we first arrived we were greeted by a very friendly lady who provided maps and plenty of information. She gave us the key to the room on the 4th floor and mentioned that the same key could be used to open the front door of the hotel if it was locked at night. We left the hotel for an hour or so and when we returned there was no one at reception. There was a door next to reception labeled as the toilet but was locked. My room key fitted so I assumed it was OK to use. On exiting the loo I was confronted by an angry German woman who I believe is the manager’s wife who rudely informed me that if the door was locked that I would need to go up to our room on the 4th floor and use the toilet there. Why give me a key to the ground level toilet if I wasn’t permitted to use it? I certainly didn’t want confrontation with anyone so chose to ignore this rude person and went to sit in the back of guest area on the ground floor with my wife. About an hour later the same German woman entered the room to empty the bin near where I was standing, close to the coffee machine etc. I simply said to her that the facilities looked great and asked if we were free to use them anytime. She glared at me and responded aggressively saying something along the lines of that if the equipment was there I could use it. She was shaking her head and muttering something else that I didn’t catch. I told her that she seemed to be a very rude person and went to sit with my wife. Next thing this woman came charging across the room screaming something at the top of her voice. She was half bending forward, bright red in the face and spittle was exploding from her mouth - she looking totally deranged. It seemed her verbal abuse lasted at least a minute or so while we sat there in stunned silence. We were very concerned that she was going to also attack us physically. After she left we did a quick check online to see if other hotel guests had suffered similar verbal abuse from this individual. Sure enough there were reports going back to 2008! There is a long review from a couple who stayed at the Lotschberg in mid 2024 who had the same woman screaming at them in front of their young children. The hotel managers/owners must have known about this woman’s toxic behaviour towards guests and seem to have done nothing for at least the past 17 years! It is our opinion that she should be removed from the hospitality industry and provided with the professional help she clearly needs. My wife and I suffered a loss of sleep for many nights after this attack and we both felt that our much anticipated trip to Interlaken had been completely ruined.||We strongly advise that you don’t risk staying here and look for another hotel.

This is a great place to stay in Interlaken. Nearby Interlaken West is convenient to famous spots like Jungfrau, Grindewald, and Spiez. The staff are super friendly and helpful, and you’ll fall in love with this place that’s been around for over 119 years.

the location is good, within 8 minutes walking distance to the Interlaken West Station.The service is good. We arrived in the morning and they can let us check in early.

We booked a double room with air con at 207 CHF (£190) a night through Booking.com. I contacted the hotel before arrival and the owner was very helpful with advice about booking Jungfrauhoch trains. When we checked in, the receptionist said she had allocated us room 1. She told us it was the smallest room in the hotel. Thanks for that. The bed was very narrow; 2 people could hardly fit in it. The "wardrobe" had 4 hangers and minimal shelf space; we went down and asked for some more hangers but we were told we couldn't have any more as we were in a "basic" room. We couldn't unpack as there was not enough room to put clothes. No fridge or kettle, but there was a shared common room with these facilities. Breakfast was ok. Hotel not purpose built, but a large converted house; you could hear the footsteps from the room above. We have been to Switzerland many times, and even for expensive Switzerland we thought the room was very poor value.

This hotel is very clean, and the owner provides excellent service. I had a pair of pants that I urgently needed to have dry-cleaned, and the hotel arranged everything very quickly. I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Interlaken.

This was a very nice little hotel, perfect for our short stay in Interlaken. Super convenient to the Interlaken West train station, Migros (grocery store) and a number of great restaurants within walking distance. The room was perfectly adequate and had air-conditioning which we really appreciated as it was pretty hot out. I thought the front desk host was very hospitable and pleasant. Our room was set up with everything I had specifically requested. Breakfast was filling and coffee was great. We would stay here again if we visited Interlaken.

Meh. We should've just sucked it up and stayed at the Victoria Jungfrau hotel. Upon arrival at Hotel Lötschberg, nobody is at the front desk. You have to use the phone they set on the desk to call someone to assist you. Then you're asked to pay 14CHF as the "city tax" wasn't paid when you booked the hotel. The room is eh. We specifically booked 2 beds and were only given one. The bathroom shower frequently overflowed. The charging ports were small and only fit a few of our adaptors. You could hear noise from other rooms. Free breakfast was just bread and spreads. Nothing worth noting. This hotel did the job but is one we'd not stay at again. Only plus side is you can easily walk from Interlaken West train/bus station in 3 mins. However, many buses can take you across town to nicer hotels.

This was a really nice hotel during our short stay in Interlaken. It's right in the middle of town so we were able to walk everywhere. The rooms were very spacious and fit 3 of us in our room perfectly. It also had a nice terrace outside with the best view of the Alps. It also has a lounge where we can sit and eat. They served breakfast with a wide variety of fruit, meat and cheese. Everything we had in the morning was really good. This was a wonderful hotel to stay at and I recommend it to anyone wanting to visit Switzerland

This felt like the perfect place to stay while exploring Interlaken for a couple of days. It's conveniently located right behind the Interlaken West train station, and makes for an easy walk for pretty much anywhere on the West side of the city. It has a boutique hotel feel and is very cozy. The rooms are nice with large, fluffy beds. Also, you can't beat the view of the mountains and para gliders right outside your window! You'll also find an outdoor terrace ( a.k.a the perfect Instagram photo spot), a shared living room with board games + complimentary coffee, and a dining area with a free, really delicious breakfast! We really enjoyed our time here. It's a great place to stay when in Interlaken!

I made reservations for Hotel Lotschberg through Booking.com (a site I had never used before) and got a really good price. While other hotels were $300+ for a room with a bathroom, Lotschberg turned out to be half the price! Arriving, I thought it would be another case of "you get what you pay for" and the room would probably be disgusting, but I was pleasantly surprised. One note, while I booked with Lotschberg, our room ended up being in Suzi's B&B right behind the hotel ... I don't know if that's normal or not. Here are the highlights (and lowlights): + located very close to the Interlaken West train station, so it's easy to get to + located very close to Migros grocery store + room, bathroom and sheets were clean + kitchenette (stove, microwave and refrigerator) in case you don't want to pay the exorbitant prices for restaurant food + free wi-fi that isn't slower that molasses - the bathroom is quite small and there's no ventilation so it smells a little - the soap that was provided isn't very good, so we bought our own - weird giant key and keychain instead of key card All in all, I'm happy and would stay there again.

We LOVED our stay at Hotel Lotschberg. We stayed in the adorable attic rooms (watch your head, but worth it for the views!) and were treated to 5-Star service by the staff! On the first day, one of the breakfast attendants ran out to the Migros to buy me gluten free bread...simply because she OVERHEARD ME WONDERING ABOUT IT! Amazing! And the rest of the stay was just as lovely! So nice to have a kind and safe place in a foreign land. Thank you so much!
