We stayed at Lou Pinet and while the property has charm, it doesn’t live up to 5-star standards. The staff were friendly, but the overall service was very average for a hotel in this category.
The turn-down service was inconsistent — sometimes they would leave cleaning supplies or dirty dishes behind, sometimes they would fold clothes, other times not at all. That lack of consistency doesn’t reflect the attention to detail you’d expect at this level.
The rooms were nicely decorated, but they felt buried with little natural light. If you opened the curtains, you looked straight into the pool area, which meant no privacy.
Breakfast was another frustration. At a resort charging over €1,000 per night, it feels strange that breakfast isn’t automatically included. On top of that, on our last day we were randomly charged for it despite not being before. To make matters worse, the hotel charges €35 per day for parking, which feels absurd considering it’s not even located in the center of St. Tropez.
The concierge did help with restaurant bookings, but one day she told us she had booked a beach club which turned out to be closed. It wasn’t the end of the world, but what bothered us was that she didn’t acknowledge the mistake, until we brought it up.
On the day we checked out, we waited over 30 minutes for our bags and car because the staff were busy, which was frustrating and not what you expect when leaving a hotel at this level.
Overall, while we appreciated the kindness of the team, the inconsistencies and lack of polish made the experience fall short of what a true 5-star hotel at this price point should deliver. Stay somewhere else!
