Hotel Lovec

We enjoyed this hotel very much!! Many amenities you don’t find in most hotels at this price. The perfectly heated indoor pool, jacuzzi, Finnish sauna, dry sauna, steam room, slippers, cozy bathrobes, hot pot with tea bags & coffee in room, all included in the price. We had very comfortable beds & pillows. Our room had a deck with a view to the castle. The water pressure in the shower is the best thing ever!! Breakfast buffet was very good & the options were changed daily. |This time of year the air conditioning was turned off for the cooler season ahead. We are used to sleeping in a colder room at night & when we complained to the front desk person, he took care of it & gave us a fan which was perfect! We slept great & we were there a total of 4 nights. The location is just steps from the lake & many restaurants!! The property is not a modern, newly renovated building, so don’t expect what you would get for a 4 or 5 star hotel in the USA, but so many of the amenities I listed above make up for this. The man at the front desk will work hard to make you happy!!

Hotel is very clean. Coffee and tea facilities with mini bar. Breakfast is absolutely delicious. Great sauna and hot tubs. Must ask reception to switch saunaon 20 mins before use. Was given a small jar of local jam on departure which was a lovely gesture. Fantastic location. Close to information center, supermarket lake and many eateries.

In my view, Hotel Lovec falls short of the standards expected of a 4-star hotel for several reasons: First, I was disappointed to have booked a standard room for €231 per night only to be placed in a room not even listed on the hotel’s website or booking platforms. Rooms 301, 302, and 303 are in a secluded section on the third floor, with doors unusually close together compared to other rooms. Although the room was clean, the furniture and décor were outdated. The bed was uncomfortable, sagging in the middle, which caused my wife back pain. Additionally, the bed consisted of two single beds pushed together, creating a gap in the middle—not ideal for couples. During my four-day stay, the room was cleaned only once, which led me to believe we were given the worst room in the hotel. There were also significant safety concerns in the room. Electrical outlets were installed directly behind the pillows on the bed’s headboard, and the air conditioning unit was positioned behind the curtains, reducing its effectiveness when the curtains were closed. As a result, we had to keep the curtains open, which was inconvenient given the early sunrise at 6 am. The shower's design was also problematic and unsafe, as water spilled all over the floor, making it dangerously slippery. The narrow space between the wall and the glass in the shower made it uncomfortable, especially for larger individuals. The hotel offers free parking, but the number of spaces is very limited, around 10. When no spots are available, guests are directed to park at a neighboring hotel. While this isn’t a major issue, it’s worth mentioning. The breakfast restaurant operates from 7 to 10 am, even on weekends. While the restaurant was clean and the food was decent, the limited hours might not suit all guests. On a positive note, the location is fantastic, close to the lake and a lively area with many restaurants. A supermarket is also just 20 meters away. Lastly, the staff at the reception and the breakfast restaurant were exceptionally friendly and helpful, and I would like to extend my thanks to them.

Despite your hotel being rated as a 4-star establishment, my experience did not meet the expected standards, particularly for the price of 200 EUR per night with breakfast, that was exactly the same every day without many variety. First, the room I was assigned had several issues. The power sockets on one side of the bed were not working, and the shower cabin in the bathroom was exceptionally small with a leaking shower head. Additionally, the room had a door leading to a small entrance hallway, which was a significant nuisance given the limited space; the door was in the way whenever it was opened. Furthermore, I had booked a "Lake view room," but instead of a scenic view, I was greeted with a view of a loading dock and the parking lot of the marketplace across the street. This was highly misleading and disappointing it's more of a half lake view. Additionally, I was surprised to learn that parking in the hotel's garage incurs an additional fee of 25 EUR per day. Given the already high room rate, I found this additional charge unreasonable. Lastly, the swimming pool, which was advertised as a key amenity, turned out to be more of an oversized tub rather than a proper pool and should not be advertised as such. Overall, I expected much more from a 4-star hotel, especially at such a high price point. I hope you will address these issues to ensure that future guests do not have a similar experience

The staff was kind and helpful, especially Mr. DeJan, and Simon(first day on job, all smiling 👏) they are great assets of the hotel, haha!

Nice hotel in a good location, rooms nice although had a nice double room 4th floor, separate living area and spa bath...Breakfast was fabulous good selection for all tastes and choice of coffee too...

The hotel is a bit dated but nice. The staff is polite and helpful. Parking is available in front of the hotel or in the garage below the hotel. The rooms are spacious and we had an exceptional lake view. Breakfast was tasty and there was a nice choice of food.
