Service is 10/10. Restaurant and Staff really make sure you enjoy your stay. The courtyard is heavenly. The rooms comfortable and have amazing views. Only caveat beds are a little dated. I wasnt surprised as it is a 100 year old hotel and the building itself is close to a 800 years. I expect some renovations to the rooms in the near future be necessary. The pool and sea access alone is worth it.

Do go to Amalfi just to stay here, but also because Amalfi is beautiful and a trip to Ravello is exquisite. We had a room with an average bed and a gorgeous view of the water and the town (from the balcony). The staff is lovely and helpful. The breakfast is insane — so many choices. We don’t usually eat in our hotel but we didn’t want to leave one stormy evening so we did. My husband started off with a minestrone soup that he pronounced the best of his life. Everything that followed, including the wine, was delicious. Wanted to at least see the pool, but the weather was not cooperative. We will not forget the meditation garden with lemon trees, the beautiful design of the hotel or the staff.

Location is great in Amalfi, it’s as convenient as anything on the Amalfi coast can be and the grounds and common areas are really nicely kept. The views are incredible and the pool area is a real star which gives an amazing alternative to schlepping around to beach clubs. The hotel would be perfect except the rooms are severely in need of big upgrades/renovations. The bathrooms are very old and feel humid and damp all the time. The beds, pillows and other soft furnishings are obscenely uncomfortable and old. We had back, neck and hip pains every night trying to sleep (awful to wake up to) and frankly dreaded going back to our room when it was time for bed, as it was the most uncomfortable part of our trip. The chairs in the room are also very outdated, small and uncomfortable and everything (dried flower arrangement, upholstered headboard, chairs) were filled with the level of dust that accrues over so many years which led to a lot of sneezing and stuffy noses for me. Additionally there are no irons or ironing boards in the rooms which are usually needed after clothes have been in a suitcase for a while. We liked so much about this hotel but wouldn’t be able to stay here again if the beds don’t get updated. The included breakfast was a nice surprise, it was really delicious and had a lot of options. Pros: -perfect location -pool with sea access -views -beautiful common areas -amazing breakfast -service Cons: -heavy catholic vibe (ptsd if you went to catholic school) -very uncomfortable beds and pillows -very uncomfortable overall furnishings -outdated bathrooms

This stunningly beautiful hotel is a perfect location in Amalfi, just 500 metres from the square. It is in a former convent, with an excellent standard of accommodation, service and wonderful staff. With amazing views, and lovely terraces, this really captures the beauty and grandeur of Amalfi. It has an excellent restaurant in the hotel, with a lovely courtyard , filled with lemon trees , for aperitifs or after dinner coffee. There is a sister restaurant across the road ( Ristorante con Terrazza soul Mare) which is also amazing and a must !

Beautiful iconic hotel just a 7 min walk from the downtown area. The views from the room are spectacular, the hotel staff is wonderful and friendly. Super clean rooms. Amazing breakfast with a view included. Highly recommend for anyone traveling to the amalfi coast. The history of the property is also very interesting as a prior convent. We were a little disappointed the pool doesn’t open until May 1 but still had an amazing time.

This was a fantastic hotel to stop in. The staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfast was excellent. They have an amazing pool though it is at the bottom of the cliff. The courtyard was wonderful to sit in (and have a peek in the well to see some turtles and fish). The whole building is steeped in history and the old building has a natural cooling effect due to the thick stone walls. Dinner was expensive here, but would recommend trying at least once, the steak was so tender I cut a piece to try with a spoon. Location is also great, walked down to amalfi at least twice a day. Rented a boat from the coast and tried a local place to eat every day. Only wish we could have stayed another week.

Wonderfully kind staff who genuinely care about the guest experience. Francesco in the bar (and restaurant) is very passionate about service and went out of his way to accommodate. The restaurant has a nice modestly pric3d wine list (great value) with views from the terrace at La Veranda that are to die for - it must be the best kept secret in Amalfi which was just fine to us! Andrea and Salvatore are wonderful managers and have built a wonderful service culture! We highly recommend this gem of a hotel for your stay in Amalfi.

Restaurant was AMAZING! Francesco was so kind, view was beautiful, service was amazing, food was delicious! The drinks were fantastic and the everything from antipasti to primi to secondi was incredible. Would recommend to everyone who is visiting or staying in Atrani or Amalfi area. The best meal we got!

Yelp
Had the penthouse/ superior sea view room, a bit tedious to get to but the room itself was amazing. Nicest staff of anywhere ive ever stayed, restaurant was very good as well.

Yelp
This restaurants view and food was absolutely amazing. The portion sizes are huge and the food is fresh and delicious. Prices are extremely reasonable, especially compared to other Amalfi restaurants. Service was great and everyone was attentive. Parking was fine, we came on a Vespa scooter and we're able to park in their small lot. If you're coming in a car you may not fit if they have a lot of other cars/scooters though. Tip: if you want to dine here make a reservation. We were able to call 24 hours ahead and get a spot the next night but when we arrived there were people trying to walk in without a reservation and there wasn't room that night.

Yelp
We visited this past year, the antiquity of the hotel was great and the service was responsive. I wish I could have rated it higher. Here's the pros and cons: Pros: amazing views out the street side rooms and balconies. Outdoor restaurant was very good with attentive service. Room was very comfortable, we had a two story room with stone spiral stairs built into the structure. Close walk to the center town albeit a steep climb and watch for passing cars at high speeds on what is really a 1 1/2 lane two way road. I overall enjoyed the walks. Pool across the way with an amazing view of the sea. If you want to spend time in a clean, well kept 800 yr old structure and are willing to pay for it I would recommend with caveats below. Cons: Expensive, you are paying for the views and solitude that may be worth it to you, just be prepared. I felt like they took advantage of us twice, once we ordered a 30e bottle of wine and "mistakenly" received the older 60e version- our fault for not spotting the year difference between what was ordered and what was displayed prior to opening, perhaps.... the second was an arranged tour to Pompeii, again it was a pricey way to do it with a private driver but we wanted the flexibility. We paid by the hour and were promised to get back with 5 hrs or less, the driver chose to stop at a favorite photo location and as a result we went LITERALLY 5:05 for the trip, we were forced to pay for 6 hrs. Given the high hourly rate I thought that was unfair and we only found out the day after at which time it was not easy to dispute. Amalfi tips, downtown gets busy. Great little cafes for breakfast, but they don't open early! Don't try to convert USD, you can only do $200per day and that process takes 40 minutes.

Yelp
Awesome hotel at the end of Amalfi! Used to be an old convent, so the place has tons of charm. There are plenty of common space to have a drink and relax, including the garden where we were treated to two glasses of champagne in honor of our honeymoon. There are lots of other Americans staying here so you'll likely make some friends and their breakfast buffet was the best we experienced in Italy. Great service all around, they even found us some medicine when my husband came down with a fever and were kind enough to answer all of our many questions. Be weary though, they will recommend the restaurant across the street and above from the hotel pool, which we found to be quite overpriced with curt wait staff, but truly awesome views!

Yelp
Recently stayed and the staff pushed us to pay cash for the room up front for a discount. Very uncomfortable situation and we did not but did pay cash for our stay but did for the car service provided upon getting there and were assured it was all set. Our mistake for not pushing harder for a receipt but we were told upon leaving that we did not pay for the initial car service. The concierge said we can look at the video and I said yes, get the video to which he then refused. Our room had a strong odor of a non functioning septic system and we couldn't stand up straight in the shower. Extremely sketchy and will scam you for every cent you have. Do not stay at this hotel.

Yelp
This place is the quintessential Amalfi coast experience. It is oozing with original charm and has been tastefully maintained. The rooms were clean and beautifully painted. The breakfast buffet and dinner were great and included with the room, huge bonus for families! Dominick and the staff were kind and very welcoming to us and our children. We adored our trip to Amalfi and will definitely return to Luna Convento. I would recommend this gorgeous place to anyone.

Yelp
This is a nice hotel. The rooms are comfortable, but don't plan to spend a lot of time there, there's too much to see on the Amalfi coast! That said, who needs to pay up for a room with a balcony? Wi-Fi doors not work in the rooms. Only in common areas. Breakfast is nice. Buffet with a variety of traditional American and European favorites including fresh fruit and excellent coffee made to order. Branch out from the hotel for other meals, however, and be warned they'll try to get you to eat at their overpriced hotel restaurants, and there are great options in Amalfi. I'm not sure if there are better hotel options in Amalfi. I'd be inclined to investigate before returning to this hotel after our 5 night stay.

Yelp
My husband and I were in Italy for our honeymoon/anniversary. Amalfi was our last stop and we stayed at the Hotel Luna Convento for the day of our anniversary. This was by far the best part of our 12 day trip! Eduardo gave us a warm welcome when we arrived, took our bags to the room and gave us great recommendations in the area. Antonio was friendly and accomodating and the lady who checked us let us stay keep our bags after check out while we waited for our ride to the airport. The rooms open up their french doors to a breath taking view of the sea and the pool is a secret little spot on a cliff over the sea. We had our anniversary at the Tower Restaurant across the street which was spectacular! I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Amalfi! Thank you for making our anniversary so special!

Yelp
I just can't say enough good things about this hotel. It is spectacularly beautiful and has excellent views. The building is an ancient converted convent (hence the name) and the restoration was beautifully done. The ancient courtyard is a delight even if you do not sit there and read for a while. I also found the food in the hotel restaurant to be excellent. The hotel is just far enough out of the center of the tourist activity to be quiet yet also convenient. In addition, the hotel gave me a very nice room upgrade since it was offseason and probably because I dealt with them directly rather than using a third party. I highly recommend this hotel if you are staying in Amalfi Town.

Yelp
Do not stay here if you enjoy warm showers. The shower was so small and the water was almost always cold. Occasionally, we got lucky and got some luke warm water. The first night, the staff blamed it on a boiler problem which they said was then fixed. After that, they said it was because everyone showered at the same time. There were 16 people in our group and no one had hot water. Other guests I spoke to in the hotel admitted the same. I showered at various times of the day to try to catch it when it was hot, but no luck. Also, the upholstered chairs and lamp shades in our room looked like they haven't been cleaned since the thirteenth century. The main areas of the hotel are beautiful, the pool area is gorgeous, the view is incredible, and the staff is pretty accommodating, hence the 2 stars. However, when I stay at a 4 star hotel, I expect a hot, or at least warm, shower. Never again would I stay here.

Yelp
Luna Convento is a beautiful hotel and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. The views from the restaurant and our private balcony and terrace were gorgeous. I am only giving 3 stars because we had several issues that I wanted to briefly mention: 1) The wifi was terrible and often went out entirely. I know, we aren't supposed to be on our phones or computers all the time but my wife and I like to watch a little netflix before bed. This was difficult several nights during our 4 night stay. 2) The shower was too short to stand up and there was almost never hot water. Luke warm was about the best we got. We could not take a bath in the luxurious tub because the jets were broken and there was never enough hot water to fill the tub. Who wants to take a cold bath? 3) The ceilings in our room were very low. We paid $425/night USD, so it's not like we had the smallest cheapest room in the house. When we tried to move to a room with a higher ceiling, we were told the only one available would be another 100 Euros/night. Not worth it. Overall average. 4) We had laundry done. They did a good job. Upon checkout, we were informed that it was 60 Euros for the one load. Now, in fairness, we did not ask and it's not like 60 Euros breaks the bank for us. But, come on. 60 Euros to do one load of laundry! Ultimately, we enjoyed our stay and, again, cannot possibly say a bad thing about the staff. They were great!
